I just noticed this about the color door clues. When it says that the colored button opens the same colored door, it means the stripe that you see on the different levels.

Blue Floor, Green Floor, Green/Red Floor, Red Floor.

Press a button of the same color and a door on that floor has opened up. When I figured that out during the time you were lost I just kept saying to myself "Go back downstairs!"
