  • I just finished this game like ten minutes ago. This is the best RPG I have ever played and it emotionally touched me at the end. If I ever wanted to die I would want it to be like Maxim, to die as a hero and as a man.

  • few typos whoops ^^"

  • I just beat this game the other My god I must say I am as EVIL As Daos was... but like damn even a cold hearten Human as my self cried to this marvelous game... I was shocked especially and Old School Game could be sooooooo EPIC!!!!!! I love 4:58 Part as well My word so Much Emotion Passionate Man even typing makes me want tear up a bit.... What a Marvelous Brilliant Game I have ever seen in my Life.. It Changed my Heart... Such Energy... Such love... =] <3

  • I actually cried 10 years ago when I beat this game and I am a male! Best ending ever!

  • the music when maxim is wrecking the mystic stones is awesome.

  • I haven't seen this in years. I'm crying again.

  • Man, they just don't make games like this anymore.

  • probably them os epic music when you have to destroy the mystic stones, still get goosebumps!!

  • Maxim in 7:55 to 8:00, NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! PLEASE DON't GO!

  • @everyone dissing the DS version

it's not that bad. the storyline is relatively the same and the music is exactly the same. i just beat it yesterday. the ending is not identical, but max and selan both die after moving the tower and the little spirit orb things go around the world and stuff. it's just a little different. but it was nice reliving my childhood. the original is better of course :)

  • the epic part begins at 4:58 ;)

  • I can only say *sniff* buhuhuhuhu *sniff sniff*

Has sb. a handkerchief ? <3 Thanks for

    uploading !

  • @Angeldeb82 I know what it means,I just think it was funny for him to say that over the typical brats, fools or other generic bad guy line. It's amazing that a lot of things got passed by the censors in the old days lol.

  • Jesus Christ, seriously... who made the dialogue scripts for this game? MY RESPECTS.

  • I love how Lufia2 tells a more mature story than most RPGs without loosing its innocence^^.

  • this is one of the saddest ending to a game i have ever seen. I think that they should make a remake of lufia 1 and 2 on the ds like mother fanboys are asking for the trilogy on the DS.

  • They need to bring the lufia series back!

  • Well this game is being remade, does that count?

  • It's on a DS so no. Touch padding would destroy the game play. There is also the chance that they may alter the story. ._.

  • I doubt they'll alter the storyline, but I'm already upset at the change to an action-RPG. Lufia II was one of the few games that got turn-based combat right...

  • "Action-rpg"...... a big wtf. *slaps an Epic Fail tag all over the person who thought this was a good idea* -.-

Lufia 1 honestly has problems with the system, and it's a part of why I'm thankful for how simple and easy to use the system for Lufia 2 is.

  • This is quite possibly the saddest, most emotional ending ever IMO. I just watched this ending and almost cried. This is one of TWO games to ever make me explicitly cry during the end (yes I saw this before and cried), the other being Mother 3's ending (no spoilers).

Lufia II is easily one of the greatest video games I've ever played.

  • Dude your comment is awesome. While I haven't cried in years (That's not an ego thing, I'm pretty sure I've grown physically unable to cry, I used to do it all the time) the endings to Lufia II and Mother 3 are the closest I've come to crying. Like in Mother 3, you know the twist, it's obvious, but when it's said out loud it just breaks your heart.

  • This is such a powerful ending...the last game that made me sad at the ending was FFIX...and FMA made me sad when the guy died...won't say his name for spoiler reasons...this IS one of my FAVORITE rpgs ever...long live the SNES rpgs!!!

  • 1:14 "You little hoochees!" LOL

  • lmao

  • @Innis2007 I suppose that the "hoochees" in Daos' "You little hoochees!" is kind of a misspelling of the word "hoochies". And in case you didn't know, a "hoochie" is some sort of a promiscuous woman, i.e., a slut. It feels kind of weird that the word "hoochies" slipped past the gaming censors, because it would have been different if Daos had said, "You little sluts!" Weird! :P

  • I'm not sure how a 16 bit sprite with a small word bubble stating "I understand" can evoke so much emotion. But it does.

To all Mutant Reviewers: Caught you.

  • I love the music after Iris tells Maxim how to stop Doom Island falling to Parcelyte. I think it's called For the Saviour. Epic ending, just like Lufia 1 ending :D

  • out of of so many games, lufia 2 has one the most saddest endings, was truly a great storyline

  • I so bet they wanted to implement a door at 6:44 which is open when you collected all Iris treasures...they probably thought it didnt fit if there was the possibility for 2 endings...

  • Very keen eye you have there, I didn't notice that.

    Your probably right.

God though the music makes this ending so epic and all he's doing is breaking stones haha

His final words with the dual blade are pretty boss to I can imagine it being spoken with the right voice actor it would be so huge.

I want a remake and I'm sure I'm not alone on that haha.

  • On the other hand, if they don't get the voice acting just right... then our epic timeless ending will have been ruined for all... D':

  • What is behind that door has haunted me for some time...

  • yeah... me too. Considering I had no internet and all when I got this game, that door puzzled me for YEARS. Not to mention not finding that last f*cking Iris treasure which I was CERTAIN was the key needed. Stupid jelly >.>;...

  • Oh thank god I'm not the only one. I've gotten many a strange look trying to explain what kind of intrigue one friggen door could hold.

  • oh hell no. A lot of people thought that it would lead to Arek (me too). I mean, a visibly closed door, with only 2 sidequests that could do this; dragoneggs and iris treasure. (and the infamous non-existing sundletan tea quest).

Yeah, that damn fake door was a design error that kept MANY lufia fans puzzled ¬¬

  • this is sooooo fucking epic.... omg <333

  • ending is epic

  • YOU HOOCHEES!!!!!

  • Well, at least there are walkthroughs, to help me get past the puzzles.

  • Also I've never played Lufia III so my questions are probably answered in there. Iris/Erim was a very interesting character. I still hate that Selan dies, isn't she magically suppose to be the most powerful of the 4?!?

  • The only reason this end game was so sad to me cuz I played Lufia II before Lufia...if I woulda known they were SUPPOSE to die I wouldn't have been caught off guard like that. And I would have known Erim lives forever and brings the Sinistrals back every 100 years or so. Her power never dies? She is life and death? Interesting... is she the whole point of the game then? Those answers I never found out..

  • For the Savor FTW, literally in this case.

  • Best game ever. Anyone agree?

  • I concur. I've beaten this game at least once every year for the past ten years. I even imported the Japanese version, Estpolis II.

  • Hmm, yes, but I have 2 best games ever, i still can't choose, the other game is Terranigma also for the SNES, Lufia II had a great storyline and gameplay.. Nice games..

  • Oh, yeah.

This is quite possibly the saddest ending I have ever seen in a video game.

  • @stoatmax can maxim use a parachute and jump from the island than joining selan?

  • Hey, man.

The puzzles are what make this game fun, imagine if this game didn't have them.

I mean, take at Lufia 3, that was horrible.

  • i found this games ending to be quite sad

  • Daos, what the hell, that's the name of the boss in Tales of Phantasia.

  • thats Dhaos not Daos =P

  • oh haha, it has been a long time since I played ToP.

  • im very nostalgic so this ending make me cry a little lol

  • hey dont feel bad i cried too when i first beat this game i thought it sucked they had a kid and they both died the kidll never know his parents, major bummer

  • lol what? Daos he said "You little Hoochees!" at 1:13 !

  • I like the game, but I HATED the puzzles. Maybe someone can make a hack of this game to get rid of the puzzles.

  • haha, I remember this one puzzle I was stuck on forever and had to use gamefaqs to get past it. Only SNES game I ever did that on. That was many years after it came out though and after I started playing easy games.

  • I loved the puzzles in this game. I was always eager to move onto the next dungeon to see what puzzles the game threw at me.

  • Yeah, thx alot for the Endings. I really loved this game. If Anyone knows how the theme/music is called played at 5:00 i would be very thankfull :)

  • Its called "for the savior"

  • Thx for uploading, my favourite characters in the game are maxim, selan and erim!

  • Thanks for the endings. I remember playing these in

the 90s, and I hated the puzzles.
