Christ, if he ever existed at all, came to save himself and pay for his own sins, not for anyone else. The new testament is not based on any proven,or can be proven historical facts, therefore the new testament's account of Christ is not really rooted in truth

There is more manuscript evidence throughout the ages to substantiate the New Testament than any 10 other literary works. That is how historical authenticity is "measured". Furthermore, there is a massive amount of historical documentation to substantiate the existence of Jesus. The evidence for the veracity of BOTH is overwhelming!
Do some research before throwing out absurd and unsupported claims.

Because Latin was the language of the Romans who brought us Christianity. Hey-Zeus means "Hail to Zeus" .There is no "J" in old Latin, but "Hey" in Latin is pronounced "J" in english, so instead of saying "Hail Zeus" in Latin,we say Je-sus" in english. they tricked us with the language barrier

I could make a billion copies of Harry Potter, does that make Harry Potter real? Give a contemporary account of Jesus from a secular source, and then you can claim that there is "historical documentation." Do some research next time instead of spouting your youth pastors ignorance.

@phylosophycalwisdom Jesus' existance is not in question it is a historical fact that he existed, and was a religious leader who claimed to be the offspring of God. was believed to be this by his followers and hundreds of people who knew him in his lifetime chose death over rejecting the idea that he was God... those facts are not in question.

He paid $300,000 income taxes last year (makes millions) & bitterly complained that under Obama he might have to pay $2,000 more. His taxes might go up by 2/3 of 1 percent!! He moaned he'd have to lay people off, maybe shut down his business. So typical! He can pay $300,000 but $302,000 would send him into bankruptcy, LOL. Smart people arent fooled.
