I think the best evidence for a hoax is the shape of the balloon!

If it really was for "chasing tornadoes" it wouldn't need to be that shape! A normal, garden variety weather balloon would have done the job and better!

Here's what's going on... the couple, the husband, has done this BEFORE! He pitches ideas to TLC and they reject him, he tried to do all these records, and even the son said "i though you told me this was for a show"... THE ONLY REASON THE FAT IGNORANT SHERIFF SAYS THIS WAS NOT A PUBLICITY STUNT, CAUSE HE DON'T KNOW WHAT LAWS WERE BROKEN... That's what hapens when you have a hick..and they searched the home, and not the attic CAUSE FAT BOY SHERIFF SAID "I didn't look like he fit in there" FIRED!

totallyjuiced, the boy was directly answering the question "Why didn't you come when we called you" with: You guys said that, um, we did this for the show. He clearly believes the parents knew where he was and why he was there. Then comes the parents reaction. Father shakes head disapprovingly and says "man" and mother says to Falcon: "No." Their reactions indicate Falcon gave the wrong answer.
