Hi there - I just wanted to chime in on some of the comments and praise I received from the commenters ....Well thank you for the kind words and for those who had questions or asked why I did it like this or that - Well the answer is because the homeowner wanted it this way and no other way . Period. The structure is solid over trusses that change direction on the beam. It's been many years since I installed this job and have had many referrals from it. It has held up as expected - Perfect.
Looks great, but if the homeowner is spending that kind of cash for a "eye candy" floor why didn't he relocate the heating registers @ 0:25? Or he could of possibly even moved the design in a few inches.
I don't know, it just seems senseless to have all that work done and have a bis ass turd right in the middle of it.
@bruno2260 Homeowner had Rug and tile thruout - plus prefinished crap floors in the rooms l&R off foyer. We had 1 - 1/2 weeks to rip and demo everything and install what you see here , while he was away. The vent hole is not an issue as they are always placed a few inches off the wall during framing of house - What can you do ? Once furniture is in there plus a decorative vent grate - it looks fine . Thank you
@sushi123 Looks > Structure. If you have a good structure 16 on center with engineered trusses you can install without any problems. You always wanna think of the light going with the grain as well they really had no other option to turn because of the light coming through the entrance. You want to walk in and look into the grain. Plus you need to keep in mind installing going the length of the room which the did. I'm happy with the way the did it as long as underneath is strong.
finally i see a nice wood floor on utube! u guys notice that traffic will bleach out a floor over time. all mine have . somtimes even with a few coats of bona oil sealer first
this is a great floor wow!!!!
