try a bigger focal range... then it focusses on the parts in front of the cat and behind it. it would give a much better result... but it's nice footage allready.
Would you please let me know how you uploaded the images from the Canon 500D to the computer. I have tried for over a week to upload to Pinnacle 14 Ultimate collection software, without any luck so far. Any help would be very much appreciated....thank you. David Cooper
i noticed with mine that the full HD filming is juddery because its only 20 frames per second rather than the usual 24. still good quality though. i tend film at 720p or 640x480 when i use my fisheye atachment
@Fantasmo : i use a 16-35m 2.8f , a 50m 1.4f , a 24-70m 2.8f and a 70-200m 2,8f ....they are all great lenses but if u wanna shoot video with an IS lense make sure u use external mic otherwise u get the motor noise
@BurgarProduction its a bit juddery when filming action scenes (skateboarding/bmxing etc) that why i tend to shoot at 720p or 640x480 when i use my fisheye attachment
If you mean the zooming in and out, well, yes, I would agree, but if you're talking about the noise around 0:30, that's the autofocus, which is quite noisy. But maybe you weren't referring to that, but I'm just trying to reply.
The "jello" effect is because it's a CMOS chip (like the Nikons), so any camera that uses those will have this problem. But user-error (as in, not trying to be as steady as possible) is also a major contributor to this effect.
They wouldn't put an external mic port on it. Would be a bad idea for marketing giving no reason to need the 5D mk II which does have one. I have the 500D & it's a great camera.
The lense makes that sound cause hes useing auto focus..... u can fix that if u want to use manual. After time u remember how much to push and pull to get perfect focus. thus no sounds :)
oh, man
WTF with the focus?

I love the way its never in focus and so shaky. Rubbish the Canon G12 720p is much much better.

how long can you shoot video? depend it on memory or is it for example for 5min.clip seting ?
MrSkunkey 1 year ago
@MrSkunkey you can film until your memory card is full or you run out of battery.
just remember to have a class 6 memory card, if you have lower they might stop up on you while you film.

But aren't CMOS the best sensors?
Which one would you recommend for professional videos?
Fantasmo81 1 year ago
Arrghh!! The video has the same jello feel I have seen on Nikon D5000 videos. Beautiful cat, though.

Probably because the image stabiliser on the stock lens is working overtime. This guy has the shakes bad.

Thank you for the video. Nice cat and it also demonstrates how the camera does focus dinamically.

it does not... its manual focus...
Peace7Maker 2 years ago
Thank you for your answer. So the sound I can hear at the end of the video, when focusing the cat, has been done manually by you?. Thanks again.
