I love the Sundays version of this song - I also love this version for different reasons - its still a great track.. but what the hell has happened to the audio track? it sounds like its being played back on a mono portable cassette player from 1978.. you wont get many converts to this version when it sounds that bad!

I like this because it managed to win Dave and Harriet an Ivor Novello award - and maybe got more people interested in The Sundays. However, I really don't like this version. I think it's the fact it's being sung in a fake American accent. Some songs were made for British singers to sing in a British accent - like Brian Ferry, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel. Trying to Americanise it . . . kinda misses the point.

This version is a disgrace. ....Not only is the singing the most bland and over produced studio sound I have ever heard... the backbeat sounds like its from a synthesizer from the 80's on "auto" mode.
