The funniest part is that if a person was ignorant of "insert religion here" and this would get them into whatever paradise is at the end do to their inability to know, then would this not make all missionaries irrefutable evil?

Think about it, everyones ignorant of religion x, everyone gets in. However if people learn about religion x then only some get in and some don't do to belief and disbelief being options at this point.

@legoretardify Untrue, the bible even says God doesn't give two shits if your good or bad, just if you've accepted Christ (assuming we're talking the old and new testament and since this is a Catholic bit I assume we are) and asked for forgiveness which (according to Catholics) makes babies and the ignorant exempt from punishment. Given it never says this in the bible, I think they added it because no one liked the idea of their "loving" imaginary friend fucking innocent people over.

I think that all that is important is that one struggles against themselves toward truth. That's the underlying theme of the sketch too, people keep looking for loopholes, but ultimately they all already know what is good and evil, they don't really need clarification from st. peter.

Pretty much all spiritual activity revolves around truth seeking, and the subsequent surrender of the ego. The pursuit of knowledge of good and evil is only a self-deception.

@Jcolinsol I would say spirituality is often the opposite of truth seeking, it's usually an excuse to answer a question(s) because people don't like having unanswered questions and not knowing. Thus when they ask "where did we come from, how did everything begin to exist" rather than looking at the evidence and just saying "we don't know yet" they say "God x done it". Real truth seekers would admit they don't know as coming to a conclusion without full supporting testable evidence halts progress
