envious of his talent. Lose your ego, we don't need that; and be advised

By "no intelligence", what he means is, that folk singers usually don't have a proper classical training, but what they sing is true from their heart, though they may not be technically correct...

If that is what he meant to say, the he should have said "folk music is not as sophisticated and advanced". "intelligence" is not the right word. that is my point

could it be the sophistication that he meant? sophistication is often a result of intelligence. since folk music is very natural & they dont worry much about these stuff. so sometimes it could be sophisticated naturally, sometimes don't.

so not necessarily it has to have intelligence. (hope i backed rahman up nicely :) )
