After two covers with this guitar I'm now positive I prefer the tone of this one (from what I hear here at home from my comp, might be different live in the room you're in). You mentioned it in a response to another comment, the notes sound more distinct.

@cellarguitarguy It has an EMG 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck. I have never had a guitar with EMG's before. The first thing I noticed is how clear the sound is. No noise and the notes that you play are very distinct. They are great for metal. The more distortion the better they sound but they also sound great totally clean too. I am pretty happy but I probably need to adjust the tone on my amp a little to match the pickups on this guitar.
