  • That was AWESOME

  • Great sound! What settings did you use on effects.thanks!

  • Glad to see solos in Christian music!! Check out Salvador ,Theocracy and Seventh Ave if you want more guitar solos

  • hey bro did you heard the full version of this song???.... it has a long intro from the start... have you already heard that??because in youtube..they cut it...but i have in my CP the Full version of this song

  • I KNOW THIS VIDEO IS A COUPLE OF YEARS OLD BUT, BUDDY, YOU DO IT A LOT OF JUSTICE. HOPE YOU GOT THAT NEW GUITAR BY NOW. LOL. IF NOT, IF MAY HAVE TO DONATE ONE OF MINE TO YOU.

  • Man, you got talent. Keep up the good work bro! Praise Jesus.

  • you learn this from his all to you live dvd thing?

  • Awesome picking !! What is your pedals set on?

  • Ausome! What is the solo chord progression- G-D-C---etc..???

  • either you have an incredible squire, or you are amazing!

but i think its probably both :) you nail all of lincoln's solos

perfectly! I love you tone dude..

  • Hey bro, One of best "attempts" I've seen. Keep attempting to play man!

  • one of my favorite solos by him. Nailed it man

  • Hey dude, how did you get that tone?

  • @oliver12345678910908 I just used the direct out of a Line 6 Spider II. I think I used the "green metal" setting.

  • Doesn't do him justice? Are we hearing the same thing? I use your videos to learn all his solos man. Keep up the good work, and thank you for all your posts :)

  • That sounds really good for a squier strat

  • @CanadaRoksEh Thanks!

  • @CanadaRoksEh Thanks!

  • @IronDan1 How long did you take to transcribe that mate? I can't do some of the hendrix-ish stuff in there cleanly but I love the high part around the g triad. Good stuff. You got Jesus and Lincoln in you :)

  • we should start a fender fund for you. you're too good to play a squire lol

  • @Czoofie Haha thanks! I'm actually looking for a Tele right now.

  • @IronDan1 Just goes to show that tone and talent are in the soul, hands, and fingers. FWIW, I play a Tele and I hope you find one you like and post some vids playing it.

  • Dude, awesome!

  • @skynut38 Thanks!

  • Man you are blessed! Praise God He has really given you a talent. I am very new to playing guitar and am playing a PRS Tremoni through a Marshall MG100 and was wondering how you get that sound? Is there a effects pedal that would give a similar sound? Thanks again for posting those

  • Thank you so much! Any strat should be able to get you this sound. An overdrive pedal can help too (like a Tube Screamer or Blues Overdrive). I can't really comment on your gear specifically, but I've heard some great bluesy tones from PRS guitars.

  • Very nice my friend. YOu are very skilled and blessed. Time for someone to bless you with a nice strat and give away the Squire.

  • Proof right there that tone is in your fingers, not the instrument! GREAT job!!

  • your so amazing

  • Nice job...I think Lincoln Brewster would be proud of that . Sweet

  • Its all pentatonic notes he uses in the first part. Then up higher at the 12 pos. throw in some SRV tricks.

  • NICE! If you all watch Lincoln show his setup you'll see he uses a POD 3X live. The cool thing is you can go in and download his effects. He also has two Dimarzio area 58's up front and I think an area 61 in the back.

  • hey man!!! your awsome man! could you make another video so we can see the frets your playing?? the light is reflecting on you guitar and we can't see where your playing.. i got the tabs. seeing helps to. we play this song at my church, and my lead kinda blows..... help a brother out!!!

  • Good job! Fantastic!!!! Well Done!

  • B R A V O !!!

  • DUDE!! can u please tab that!! the one on guitarpraise.blogspot is not as good as that!! PLEASE!!!

  • Hi IronDan,

what's ur setup rig? i never get my solos to sound as warm as liquird as that. my OD sounds harsh and too much 'hair' help? thanks and appreciate it.

  • try putting your pedals in different orders, and mess with your amps tone control. Your OD may sound "harsh" because your treble is high or sumthin, anyways hope i could help :)

  • Thanks WhiteStrat.

very general comment you made. i need more... detailed explanation. hence me asking Dan how he did it.

i do agree the amp plays a part - play on a solid state, there's no way to get that. i realised, a high gained (i.e. mesa or a orange) tube can get what i'm looking for.

  • I recorded this video using the direct out of a Line 6 Spider II. I've been able to get pretty good results from recording this way, but I'd never be able to acheive this kind of tone with this amp in a live setting. I think I might have done a little post eq'ing on this video too, but I can't remember. I don't know if this helps, but I'm also using the neck pickup here.

  • MY GOSH! Dan, i didn't expect you to reply!

but seriously, good stuff, esp when u recorded it using a very simple setup. like you said 'never able to aheive this kindf oftone with this amp in live setting'.

amazxing.... i'm blown away. keep it up dan! :)

  • amazing.

    thanks so much.

i really didn't expect a reply from you.... thank you. the fact that u didn't go like tube amps and boutique pedals and just that simple setup, makes the whole thing with more zhhnnnggg!

  • Awesome Job man! It's great to see someone play a squier like that!

  • That's cuz the tone's all in those hands... Dude sounds like that on my ukulele...

  • that guitar sounds good for a squier... nice dude.

  • cool

  • wow thats really good nice :] what kind of guitar is that?

  • Thank you! This guitar is a Squier Affinity Strat.

  • hi bro, where do you get your backing tracks of lincoln brewster?

  • For all these videos I'm just playing over the original CD track, except this one which I made myself.

  • mate this is an awesome solo, I think its actually better then Lincoln's solo, your awesome, keep it up =D

  • Very nice tone and feel. Love it!

  • Thanks!

  • whoa is that the squire version?

  • Yep, it's a Squire Affinity Strat

  • how do u get so good with ur hmmer and pulls.. :( ive been playing for 2 year and still cant master those! any good tips or exercises that u can give? :)

  • very nice feel and sound

  • Thanks!

  • Dude.....what effects are you using on your strat? I like the sound.

  • Thanks! I'm just using a light distortion, delay, and I think a bit of compression too.

  • hey man that so epic. im trying to learn it right now. but i was wondering what the effect is that you are using.

  • Thanks man! It's just a light distortion with a little bit of reverb and delay. I think I used a bit of compression too.

  • alrighty then. i will have to figure something out then.

keep playing man . you rule. God Bless

  • Awesome Playing!!! Hey a little bit more on your effects, are those the same things you used on "Everlasting God? I'm thinking about buying some pedals but I have no Idea on what to get, is there any way you can make a short video about your effects and maybe a little bit on how to use them? I'm sure that would be very helpful to many people. I hope is not too much to ask. Lincoln showed his stuff but didn't really say much about it. Thanks man I really appreciate your videos .

  • that was dank great job man

  • Thanks man!

  • omg that was so boss :D

  • haha, thanks!

  • Dude, you are seriously one of the best Lincoln Brewster copycats on YouTube...actually, you're the best I've seen. Everyone else winds up doing their own thing, but you get really really close to playing just like him. I actually use your videos for practice because I've been an acoustic guitar player for 12 years, but just started getting into electric a couple months ago. Thanks, man!

  • Haha thanks but I'm definitely not the best! There are so many amazing players on here. It's so cool that we have our own little Lincoln Brewster community on here. I've learned a ton from watching other people's videos.

  • Have you ever met Lincoln Brewster? What a fun time you would have!

  • I haven't but I'd love to. I wish he came around here more often.

  • what pickups did you stick in that squire to make it sound that good?!?!

  • I'm actually using the stock bridge pickup in this video :)

  • seriously?!?!i have never heard a squire sound like that! what are you running it through? and where did you get that jam track?

  • Yep, it's true! I'm running it through a Line 6 Spider II. It's not a great amp, but it gets the job done. As for the jam track, I made it myself.

  • do you have tabs for this? i really need them....

  • Check out the tab by kennygohweizh. I posted a link to it in my video description.

  • Hey Dan, would you mind sending the tab for this song to me? Great job as always, btw.

  • Thanks man. Check out the lesson and tab by kennygohweizhi. I just posted a link to it in my video description.

  • hey do you give lessons

  • I used to have a few students, but I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to give lessons.

  • hey IronDan1 do you have the tab to the song everybody praise the Lord? I have to play it for my church if you have the tab Respond plz!

  • Nope, sorry! Try checking Ultimate-Guitar(dot)com. They have a bunch of LB tabs there.

  • hey man great job, i watch alot of your videos to figure out the solos when our worship team does his songs. but would you mind doing this video again because i cant quite see the frets because of the glare. if not thats cool.

  • Thanks, I'm glad I could help. Sorry about the glare! I didn't notice it until after I posted the video. I won't be able to record a video for a while, but I do have a tab. If you're interested I could email it to you.

  • hey greatttt job!

what gauge of strings do you use? you seem to bend the strings very well

  • Thanks! I use 10s. 09s feel too thin and 11s are too hard to bend, but 10s feel the best to me.

  • nice...you should try the SOLO at the end of the song too...

  • hey man, which squier strat is that? i played a squier the other day at guitar center the other day and it sounded amazing for only 175......what model is this one? it makes me wan to buy one now

  • It's a Squier Affinity Strat, my very first electric. Yeah, the quality of Squier seems to have gotten a lot better in recent years. I think they're a pretty good deal.

  • hey cool thanks man, i love your videos as well, we played all to yo at my church last week and i watched your video to see how the solo was done, good stuff man

  • It's Totally funny, My main Rig right now is a Variax through a Pod X3, so I can get tones similar to yours (you have the lincoln brewster patches from custom tone?) But Anyways, I bought a Squier a few months back thinking I'd just buy some Fender Custom Shops and change the headstock logo. Playing it at home, it sounded really good without taking out the PUps, and after I changed the headstock logo, even my "Tone Snob" friends couldn't tell the difference. That puts me $1200 in the black. heh

  • That's great man! You're right, I don't think you have to spend a ton to get great tone. I was so surprised when I found out Lincoln was using a Pod. His tones are some of the best I've ever heard.

  • ..ok..thanks anyway!GODBLESS with your studies..i'll wait for it..GodBless bro!

  • hey man..thats great!Glory to God!your good!..keep it up..can you post another video with this (slow)?

  • Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! It may be a while until I can upload another video since I've been so busy with school.

  • Awesome mate! Do you play with red Jazz IIIs?

  • Thanks! Yeah, I've been playing with the red Jazz IIIs a lot lately. I'm not sure if I like them though. I'm not used to using such a tiny pick.

  • how come your squier sounds so good? what have you done with it?

  • Nothing special really. Just lots and lots of tweaking on my amp (a Line 6 Spider II).

  • It makes me smile when a young guy on a Squire plays better then a poser with a $2,500 Strat. "God gives grace to the humble but opposes the proud" (James 4:6)

I hope we hear more from you.

  • Thanks VoxLesPaul! I really appreciate it. I hope to post some more videos soon.

  • It's the truth man. I'm a good example of that one. I needs to practice up more...Dan rocks...

  • how long have you been playing guitar?

  • about 7 years

  • your tone is absolutely beautiful. keep it up, man. killer solo on "all to you" by the way.

  • Thanks man!

  • Hey guys, I found a great tab for this solo. It can be found in the links section of this video. The link begins with guitarpraise(dot)blogspot(dot)com. If you click that it will take you to the tab.

  • can you describe clearly, what effect you use.. I will have exact the same.. you are great!!

    Be blessed

  • Thanks! I am using a Line 6 Spider II 212 combo, and I'm recording it direct. The amp model I used is called "insane green", and I had the gain almost all the way down. The bass was at around 8, Mids at 7, and treble at 5. The delay I used is very similar to the one I used in my Petrucci Music Man test video. I believe it was called "Cathedral".

  • Perfect! Did you take guitar lesson?

  • I did for a bit when I first started playing, but I'm mostly self-taught.

  • Do you have any suggestion where I could find guitar lesson online?

  • Try cyberfret(dot)com, there's a lot of great info there.

  • Hi Dude,

you just played like Lincoln Congratulations!

Do you have a tab fpor this solo?

    THNX

  • I wish I could play it like Lincoln! As for the tab, I'm hoping to put one up soon. I've just been so busy with school that I haven't had the time.

  • Hey thanks for your effort, man!

God bless you richly with your school!

Are you living in the states?

    Greetings!

  • Thanks! Yep, I do live in the states.

  • NICE. I use a Flextone III, and I really like your amp setting. What amp/cab combo are you using on the Spider for this?

  • I'm using the "Insane" channel with the gain all the way down.

  • Hey guys, here's a cool little trick I found out. If you want to watch a Youtube video at higher quality, add "&fmt=18" (without quotes) to the end of the video's address. This one sounds a lot better with that added.

  • That's pretty neat. How'd you figure it out?

  • I came across it on a forum. On some videos it doesn't seem to do much, but on others it makes a huge difference.

  • Yeah, it looks and sounds a lot nicer. Thanks.

  • I love this song and solo...I gotta learn it somehow...can't wait for your tab or slow version video

  • when do you think you wil be doing a slow of this video and the tabs?

  • I'm hoping to put a tab up soon. I'm such a slow tabber!

  • WOW just perfect!!

  • great song soothing solo great job

  • Cool! Good work...Keep it up

  • Dude Flipping amazing

  • Can you tell me what tempo deley you are using .1/8 or and are you going to do this video in slow? That would be awesome.

  • I'm not sure what the tempo is. I just kept messing around with the controls until I got a sound I liked. I may do a slower version for this one. I'm also hoping to get a tab up soon.

  • are you going straight from your guitar to your amp?

  • Yep, it's just my guitar to the amp, and then right into the computer. It's a really simple setup. I'm also recording direct.

  • GOT MY BUZZ GOIN AGAIN!

  • sweet...what kind of pedal and setting do you have

  • I'm using the Spider II's "Insane" setting with the gain turned all the way down.

  • Ahhh...Liked the solid state better than the tube?

  • Nah, I think the Spider Valve is a way better amp than the Spider II. I just wasn't a big fan of the cleans. The high gain settings were great though. Oh well, my amp search continues!

  • Cool Dan, did you just get that strat.? i dig the feel.

  • Thanks man! This is actually the first electric I ever had, a Squier Affinity Strat. It actually sounds pretty good, but I can never get it to stay in tune!

  • Sounds really great. tunning wise its probally the tuners or the bridge.

  • Great playing, bro! Love this solo, tons of feel. You should tab this. We are getting ready to do this tune soon at my church.

    Wes

  • Nice Work Dan !!!

  • Nice Work Dan !!!

  • Love this solo from LB. We're getting ready to start putting this song into our rotation. Great playing, bro! Spider Valve? You should really tab this and let me know when you do. Pretty much nailed it!

    Wes

  • Thanks for the comment! This was recorded with the Spider II. I returned the Spider Valve a little while ago.
