If expect to get answers about DMC4 then DMC1 is where you start, skip 2 it has nothing to do with the actual story, was a really bad filler that never happened, instead play DMC3 the much better idea of a prequel, then go back and play 4. You should be up to speed then. Oh "ONE MORE THING" Play the original on normal mode or harder if you want the real ending.

Anyone else think Nero is somehow related to Vergil? Remember when Nero get's his devil trigger and says "then a voice called out for me, it said POWER give me MORE POWER!". If you played DMC 3 you will remember Vergil's obcession, he was always looking for "More Power". Its very possible Nero's hand was damaged by Vergil or is a direct relative somehow.

@DivineSora01 If you really want to know the truth capcom fucked up the story all together and are trying to cover their asses. There are many parts to the story that just don't add up. Capcom never was good at keeping up with a good story in any of their games though to be honest. So for a good word of advice I would never get too attach to their story telling on their games.

dante is half demon, half human. if he was fully demon, he would be in a demon state all the time but cause hes half human he can decide whether or not to transform, nero is isn't 1/4. he attained his power by getting cut in his right shoulder by a demon this gave him the powers of the devil bringer and demon form to his right arm. and nero's devil trigger isn't considered a devil form because he doesn't tranform. only vergil's spirit resides beside him.

just to let you know I took nothing from anyone. These are my on opinions. This game only goes home with the kids who thinks it's cool with demons and red swords and stuff. The storyline is weak and to be honest, this is a wanna be Final Fantasy VII game. Sephiroth and cloud started the ultimate anime fighter phenomenon. Dante and nero are just for xrazy anime freaks..Final Fantasy VII is awesome though, it's not just about how cool the characters are. But that game has a story too. So this suks

i'm not too sure how much this can be related to ff7, the ff series have always been a turn based game and its great this way, dmc is a whole series by itself, they are third person fighters and the two games are both great. personally i think comparing them is like comparing Naruto and Bleach, both are extremely good anime and manga, both existing in the fantasy world but both have their own highlights.
