  • its like the contestants were possessed to bid that crazy amount LOL

  • @lavachoke thats fucking stupid kill your self and get off youtube

  • Wow. Just wow. You know his showcase with the car is worth more so bidding the same as her is an automatic fail.

  • WTF?

  • notice how fast he walks off the stage after he lost man americans are stupid!

  • @fullrad well at least he didnt just ignore her he did shake her hand ive seen others storm off

  • I think the reason why Derek had bid $4,200.00 was because he thought that (for some reason), his showcase was cheaper than Loretta's. (If it was, he would have won his showcase.) I think had this been under any other circumstances, he would have given a realistic bid. Loretta, on the other hand, was probably clueless, or has never seen the show before and didn't realize how expensive trips are (even though two of them were only for three nights instead of six).

  • 1974 called, they want their bids back.

  • Bid $1 and see what'll happen.

  • Worlds biggest dumbasses

  • The guy (Derek) is a friend of mine. He said he was so nervous he didn't know WHAT he was bidding. After the show stopped taping, a producer asked him, "What happened, man? You were doing so well!" And he said, "I don't know...I think I blacked out!"

We gave him a hard time about it, but at least he won $10,100 playing Plinko! : )

  • The guy especially is a moron. He has a car in his showcase and he bids $4200? And the worst part is that when Drew was moving to him to reveal the actual showcase amount, he looked like he was actually excited that he could win! If you both bid the same thing, and your showcase includes a frickin car, I think you already lost. You may serve your country, but you're an idiot when it comes to math.

  • @eepruls He didn't serve his country, he was wearing a fake military uniform. That type of uniform would have name tapes on it, with US Army, and his last name. It would also have an American flag on the sleeve. Don't clump that moron in with people who serve this country, the only thing he should be serving is my morning coffee at McDonalds.

  • why is it that one of the prizes is a blu-ray player, yet the horror movies are DVDs?

  • I was thinking a million dollars bid

  • 42, the answer to life.

These people definately don't want to experience the horrors of overbidding in Halloween.

  • I think people get so nervous on the show that they loose all common sense.

  • "40 Uhmm.. 42!.. Uhm.. 4200! I mean 4,200.. Huh what? I mean yeah, 4200!" xD

  • "Where they burned witched viciously!" Blonde: GASP! *Prance prance, idiot look, giggle like being burned is funny* Thumbs up if YOU caught that too.

  • f'in idiot

  • 6:35, that was not attractive how the black babe tore into that loaf of bread...

  • OMFG!! *dies*

  • $4,200? Both bids? I could bid better than both consestants!!!

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAH

  • what a fail , that lady almost gave him the win on a patter and ...../$%/$?/$ lol

  • What part of the military was is that guy in "special ed forces"?

  • ok really?

  • this episode of the price is right kind of reminds of treehouse horror of the simpsons a little!!!!

  • at least they didnt go over

  • that lady looked a lil like whoopi goldberg

  • I think they mistook the Halloween episode with April Fools one...

  • How are these people functioning in life?

  • I've been to salem it was fun but i hated the food there yucky soup

  • My theory -

Derek thought "She made a terrible bid so all I have to do is keep from going over. In order to keep from going over, I should make a stupidly low bid. What would a stupidly low bid be? Well, forty-two hundred dollars, for example."

  • 2:26=WTF?

  • I must say, the hearse decorations were a nice touch.

  • whoa what a god dam retard

  • 3:40 It's Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber.

  • Derek looks like that dork Andrew that was on Big Brother 12.

  • are those ridiculously horrible and low bids intentional?

  • WTH were they thinking?

  • Why does she stand there at the end clapping, then just randomly walks off camera? Did she not know she won with that horrible bid?

  • These people were completely dumb.

  • This isn't 1975!

  • well, they're definently not over

  • What an idiot....

  • I went over on both of them, I guessed $25,000 for the trips and $28,000 for the car showcase.

To the poster of this video: Realize that they both bid $4,200.. This show does happen to have a lot of college students go to it, so what more can you expect from a group of college kids, well.. they screamed 4:20!! The time and date where you are 'suppose' to smoke up.

I guess a lot of stoners go to this show.

    ;)

  • If they had both bid $42,000, It would had been the Double Over

  • lol talk about scary i was watchin dis rite now now i no who win lol

  • he had this thing in the bag, and he blew it worse than she did

  • I was at this taping and Loretta was in our group....we asked her afterwards about her bid and she said she was so nervous, she completely froze when she was trying to bid and meant to say 14..I dont know what the guy was thinking though lol

  • . . . What they hey, man??? Maybe he wanted her to win after bidding so painfully low, but . . . of maybe he thought, "Hey, if I bid the same, I'm going to win." Which really doesn't make much sense at all, as you KNOW the trips are going to be less than the car and all that. . . .I don't get it at all. It was indeed an odd show, but for Halloween, maybe it just fit all the more. ;D

  • I wonder how much these guys would have bid on a $4500 surfboard...

  • Never seen two people bid the same price for their showcases ever. On the plus side, no one went over lol.

  • $4,200 were the showcase prices back in 1972, lol...

  • It's like these people have never been in a store! Yikes

  • See, when I watched this one on TV I thought that maybe he felt bad for her after making such a stupid bid and stupidly went along with it too. But knowing how painfully under she was, even if he'd made a conservative bid of about 15,000 he woulda won. *shakes head*

  • First $4,200 was stupid. Second $4,200 was strategy, thinking the first showcase was more expensive. But it was stupid strategy, and an attempt to rub it in Loretta's face. Bid $20,000 and take home the car, numbnuts.

  • Are you fuckin' kidding me?

  • Seriously, what kind of car only costs less than $5000 today?

  • 4200 would be a good bid...... in the 70s!

  • LOL all that guy had to do was bid $15,000 or so and he was guaranteed the showcase! What a moron!

  • They are both stupid.

  • Long time since I heard Grandeur.

  • As horrible as those Showcase bids were along with the "tricks" that were in the pricing games with the exception of Plinko, this was a pretty good Halloween show. Much better than last year's and I'd sure would love Drew, Rich, and the models dress up like this again for next year's Halloween special...

  • Next year: a Clock Game clock and handheld indicator, a Three Strikes number or strike chip, and a Golden Road post!

  • And Dericks showcase in '72 would be $5400.

Would be good bids, 38 years ago..

  • $4,200 for 3 Trips, 1 out of the country? Maybe in 1972.....

  • Nope

'ccording to Inflation, a $19,000 showcase now is a $3,800 showcase in '72.

  • Clueless morons like these get on the show, yet I couldn't even get in? (it was one of the last tapings with Bob)

  • Wow, a $15K difference in the showcase and it's WON!

  • OK, I don't really know what is this show all about, but what I understood is that you're trying to guess what's the price of these things they show you, and the closest person wins them, right, Wayoshi? If so, saying that car and a HDTV costs 4200 dollars is just plain being an idiot.

  • correct, but you don't forget that if you're over, you're screwed

  • See, even you understand how bad these bids were XD

  • @skawo90 Actually, the rule is you have to com closest WITHOUT GOING OVER - a key constraint.

  • @skawo90 Nearly perfect.

    Closest WITHOUT GOING OVER.....

  • Why $4,200, the car never cost under $10,000... well it was but not anymore. Happy Halloween everybody from the Price is Right!

  • lol, and you thought I didn't know my Price is Right!

FAILS. I would have at least won one of those...though that doesn't seem to say a whole lot.

But the part of me that loves The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy approves of both. They just both fail.

  • My mom always thought that the HHR looked like a hearse.

  • ...Wow. That was epic suck.

Did anybody see that guy in the front of the audience, to the right of Contestant's Row? Gray/white hair, dark suit, bony face, corded microphone.....

    Hey, wait -- that's BOB!

  • Those were stupid bids. It's obvious that the person who got the trips would win.

  • How stupid could that be on the showcases for them to bid the same amount? That is ridiculous.

  • I had to type a page-long rant to gskingdom about this, and I think this conclusion fits here as well.

"Make TPiR idiot-proof and there will always be a dumber idiot. But for those, we need the acerbic sarcasm back. Drew is definitely at fault for not confirming these bids, or poking fun at them so the contestant figures things out. "You want it, you got it" [Joseph], yes...but some of them *don't* want "it"."

  • With all the tech being stuffed into PiR, why don't we have a bid video wall? Nobody would be -$1ing unless they knew that would get clangers, people who want to bid below everyone would just bid $1, and nobody would mix up hundreds and thousands.

I still want to know, though, even with her errant choice directly in front of her, Drew's signals this was 5-digit Pushover and that she picked $81,767, and the audience's boos, that Cassandra (1/14) mixed up 4 and 5-digit Pushover. Barkerism time.

  • What I had been saying was that since SC2 had a car, a double garf wouldn't work, since SC2 would cost more.

Maybe Loretta got confused. But when you see it happen to someone else, there's no excuse for it happening to you also.

What we need is Barkerisms: "Can we shop at his Chevy dealership?" The "as if the Prius was made in 1979" quip was a big step for Drew, but this requires more drastic action.
