  • I love the article! It really sounds like you...I know that sounds like a "no duh" sort of thing but I could actually picture you saying all those things! :)

  • *gasp* awesome article thingy!

  • LOVE that Ferris Bueller poster! :)

  • Your article was great.

  • that article...was amazing.

  • ...that editorial...Can I read more of them? where can I find more of your amazing writing? It's kinda inspired...

  • wow, your sister looks a lot like you, at least from that distance.

  • I love collage poems!! It's really, really good; definitely captures LfA.

  • great alaska moment

  • I really like the idea your English teacher had. I would read it, but I haven't read Looking for Alaska.

I wish we would do stuff like that, but it's A.P. lit. We have a schedule. Blaaah.

  • Whoa. I just read the article, and I have one thing to say:

    Oh. Snap.

Okay, two: I kind of wish I had the guts to publish those kinds of thoughts. At least someone does! (And much more articulately, I might add!)

  • hayley ur my fav ur sooo awesome!!!!!!!!

  • just to let you know, youtube considers this a "related video" to the "cake" appliance direct commercial. i know you had that on your personal channel at one time. wierd.

  • I write for my school's newspaper too and the only, ONLY time people really read it was when we had a controversial story. haha

  • this comment isnt here nor there, but omg, you really look alot like my ex girlfriend O.o you could be her twin sister, I had to look twice xD I guess its true what they say everyone has a "twin" somewhere

  • Motivational posters are worthless. (Except maybe the "Hung On" kitty)

  • you pwned that assignment <3

  • those are amazing shoes :]

  • Um, that article was all kinds of awesome.

  • That article was amazing.

  • Whoa! Grammar-conscious Hayley used a split infinitive? What? Awesome article though. You can really write.

  • Where is the split infinitive? Just wondering, not correcting. I'm just gramatically challenged. (:

  • Wow ... and apparently spelling challenged. GramMatically. PWNed by life.

  • OMG haha hilarious! The G Stands for Controversy! You're great : D

  • I agree with your article, it makes sense. And even though nobody reads our newspaper we can allways count on you to stir up controversy. heaven knows we need it. Maybe i'll write some conflicting articles now while nobody knows who i am, or would that defeat the purpose?

  • Appliance Direct! Aww, I live in that area :) Those commercials define my hometown. Lucky me :P

  • you know what i've realized? every time someone makes a youtube video starting out with something like this: "i'm gonna make this video quick", they never actually make it quick. most of the time its the usual 3 to 4 minutes.

  • that article is wonderful, for the record.

  • heh, your article reminds me of a letter I wrote to our princpal as a freshman... except that I was suspended, out of school, for 5 days, despite over 1K signatures petitioning against it (meaning of 970 students, 75 teachers or so, and about 15 staff in the building... damn near all of them signed it only AFTER reading the letter)... at least times have changed, and I'm glad to see people who still have courage to say things that aren't sucking ass to the elders :)

  • loved the aritcle :D

  • I read the article you wrote! I saw it on facebook.

Do I sound like a stalker now? Maybe.

  • Ooh, I did that too in my English class...only with Great Expectations.

  • I want to read that guidance counselor letter! :D

  • So do I!

  • I really enjoyed the article and the poem. You make a really good point in the article.

  • i really liked the article esp. the last sentence

  • I have a cold too.

    They suck.

I felt so crappy today that I missed the 2nd days of the church convention thing for girls called Revolve Tour. Lame.

  • Woah your article was fantastic.

    xxx

  • I really enjoyed your article, Hayley.

  • My sickness this week only affected the left side of my face too!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, I did that type of poem once. In eight grade. Does that not make you feel young?

  • 'YOUNG'

    'YOUNG'!!!!

Get it? Get it? ;) Yay.

  • You remind me of Jessica Darling with your controversial editorials. :)

  • Awesome poem and article!!

It was odd to only see "Hayley Hoover" on the article without the G haha.

    =)

  • My thoughts exactly haha.

  • that poem. is amazing.

  • THIS ISN'T HAYLET G HOOVER

    just kidding

    i just love that line

    :)

  • Hahaha I write for my school newspaper too. And yeah, no on reads it. xD

Hmm...maybe a little controversy? Maybe something about the pros and cons of using electronic devices in class? That sounds edgy.

    You're awesome, Hayley Hoover.

  • love the ending :]

  • Favourite awesome girl right here, folks.

  • Hahaa Oh God you're the definition of awesome :L

  • I really liked your article. Good Job!

  • Awesome article! I completely agree with how they try to 'reach out' by throwing in 'modern' things that they think teens will like. At my little brother's school teachers are required to make students write at least one 'persuasive essay', and some genius decided that the outline had to be shaped like an iPod, because us kids are obviously too moronic to comprehend anything in list form.

  • I LOVE YOUR POEM

  • Rock on, Hayley! Great article :)

    Feel better!

  • So *that's* what the 'G' stands for!! :P Bloody good article, too. And poem. Jeez, aren't I just gushing with praise?! Hehe.

  • you are ALWAYS hunched over in your videos. it makes me antsy

  • It makes my face look less wide!

  • Your article was BEAUTIFUL. It was quite surreal seeing your name printed without the G, but once I got past that it was a wonderful read and I can totally get why it caused such fuss. xD <3

  • I loved your article and I so agree with you about the motivational posters. I also enjoyed your poem. I felt like you really got the essence of that chapter through to people.

  • I am studying to be a high school English teacher and we just learned about what you were talking about with the poem. Its called a "found poem." :D

  • Aw, Hi Hayley's sister. =D

  • I like those posters but that's funny what the teachers did. I hope you get better.

  • :] Get well soon. Lol.

  • I read the article...pure awesomeness and the overly race sensitive comment reminded me of one of tyler oakley's vids hahaha nice work!

  • Get well soon <3

  • i LOVE John Green's books, so I obviously love 'Looking for Alaska'/

The poem is really good! And your article was really good, too. I loved it!

    <3

  • 5 stars for your watery eye!

    Get well soon!

  • I love the poem! Its really cool.

Your sister sounds just like you...it was funny, super cute shoes, and feel better! Being sick sucks! <3

  • Whoa the article is awesome. You're definitely right about the posters.

  • you and your sister look so much alike !

  • Amazing poem.

    And I lovedd the article.

    Hope you feel better.

    :]

  • Amy Pooler to you Tina Fey lol awesome

  • Awesome article. Luckily, my school doesn't seem to be one for exhausting us with motivational posters. Do you think they'll remove any of them after your article?

  • awesome, i loved that poem :D

  • woot woot newspaper kids! loved the article!

  • Your sisters loks so much like you; i bet you get that alot, huh?

I love that poem; really made me want to reread LFA for the hundredth time. =]

  • I love the way you arranged your poem Hayley! Get well soon!

  • OMG why is everyone sick. I'm dyingggg. In all my videos I sound like a duck becasue i'm so sick

  • Get well soon! =)

PS- I tried to warn you about that HGH fever...

  • I did Recreation poems in high school and I LOVED writing them. So much fun :)

  • That poem makes me want to re-read Looking for Alaska. That really was a great book, huh?

  • Hope you feel better! Dude, that's a seriously AWESOME poem and I really liked your article! Seriously. You're such a cool person.

  • I love your poem!

    :)

And you are EXACTLY right! Motivational Posters are incredibly POINTLESS. They make me laugh more than they make me motivated.

  • The poem is excellent :D

And WHERE did you get those shoes?

  • soo good

  • Wow, I like the poem, it's great!

  • Get better soon! This video was unbelievably awesome by the way!

  • Nooooooo! Its says the video is unavailable! WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME YOUTUBE, WHY?!

  • Today is awesome because you have a Ferris Bueller Poster.

  • Those shoes are BEAUTIFUL!

And I don't want Kristina to cry :( *hugs for Kristina*

Your poem makes me happy and it also makes me want to re-read LFA, which I don't have with me at the moment *sigh*.

  • i looooove you're article! haha overly race-sensitive describes those things perfectly and y are they all so outdated? lol

  • I wish i got cool assignments like that, hahaha.

I adore your poem, and your article, and you. :]

  • I loved your LFA poem so much, I wrote it down. So great!

  • Feel better sweetness.

You get FIVE stars for putting your sister in your video.

  • Today is often cause of G Hoover the second made a cameo...nice

  • i liked your article :D

  • Aaah feel betterrrrrrr!

Your LFA rearranged is brilliant. We don't do cool things like that! We just do powerpoint presentations and argue.

Controversy is great. The local chamber of commerce got involved when I got pissed off and made a video last year about how blatantly fixed regionals for a competiton were. I got in SO much trouble.

  • Woah. Your sister actually looks a lot like you XD I find a lot of the time it doesn't happen that way often.

  • I totally understand.

I wrote for the paper that no one read.

Depressing. My editors always gave me all the hard articles too. Xp

  • Nice article, Hayley. (Y)

  • You know what's good for eating dry chicken (or meat in general)? Just simply take a drink of water amidst the chewing, and problem shall be solved!

P.S..... I think I am in love with you. Do online relationships work for you?

  • wow what a coininkidink we had to do basically the same thing in my creating poetry class today, except we had to use excerpts the teacher gave us.

  • OMG, sister g hoover. I can haz?

  • your sister look sooo different from you!! woah..

  • Also, I am flattered to be the Amy Poehler to your Tina Fey. xD

  • was that really your sister or just you with a black wig on? haha

  • I love you so much. :D:D

You can pee while on the phone with me anytime you want.

  • I read that before watching the vid and i'm scared

  • Kristina, you are hilarious...and gross...and...unique.

A truer friend Haley G Hoover has not. Or something.

  • You know I love you when I'm willing to let you hear me pee.

    And then comment about it.

  • That editorial was the best thing I've ever read.

You NEED to put up the guidance counselor's response!

    <3

  • You are so cool in every way.

If I wrote that in my school, it would not only not be published, but I would probably get called into my guidance counselor's office.

And you think your school's bad.

  • HAHA, that article is genius.

  • I love writing...I mean I have freakin written a book (ok so almost done...900 pages should count though) but writing a poem is hard core...I just cant do it. You amaze me.

  • So I should say "arranging" the poem...but still

  • Between the article and the poem, you're pretty much my hero. Even more so than usual. The G stands for BADASS, lady.

  • The poem was great, the editorial...you should have taken your own advice and "ignore the motivational posters entirely."

Sure, we get to see the piece out of context, but you went from bang on "drink milk/don't kick puppies" about the posters to basically calling your guidance counselor a condescending, catty, rude power tripper. Way to passive aggressively stick it to the man!

    The poem was good though.

  • hayley, your article kicked butt! couldn't agree with you more.

  • Your poem = amazing.

And I agree about the motivational poster crap.

  • I love that article. if someone wrote that in my school paper, they'd be kicked out of school. i love the freedom you write with! now THATS inpirational

  • SWEET snail polish.

Gd, I need to go to sleep . . . snail polish?

  • i get it. one of those identical twin sister pairs where one is years older than the other. but they still look exactly the same.

  • I hate those left side cold symptoms :p

  • Loved the article! I've seen one too many of those in the halls of my high school. and your LFA poem was AMAZING! Reading it makes me want to reread LFA. = ]

  • awesome poem and article ;) ! Your such a brilliant writer :D

  • I Love the poem with a capital L!

  • AWEsome article!

  • awesome article.

    And great poem.

    Generally, great writing

  • Oooh. Awesome poem, I love it.

  • Also, that article you wrote is the first school newspaper article I have ever read that had absolutely NO grammatical errors. It was quite refreshing. Yay for Miss Grammar Fairy!

  • Feel better, Halyey :)

  • Great article!

    You're quite the rabble rouser.

  • I really like your poem. Oh, and you and your sister look a lot alike.

  • what is wrong with kristina why is she cryinggg :(

and motivational posters ARE bullshit. so good on you!

  • dances ftl

  • poem= AMAZINGNESS

& the article was really good to, gustier than what I would've posted. Teach me your ways great G.

  • People probably tell you this a lot, but you and your sister look pretty similar.

  • I love your poem, its actually an amazing summery of he chapter =]

I think I might have a go at that myself sometime ^^

  • Daaaaaang, Hayley, that is one kick-ass article. I love the poem too. Somebody didn't FTBA!

  • nice poem =) I love that the title is about half as long as the poem itself :-p

  • I find those motivational posters patronizing.

And the reason your posting while sick is because your obsessed. ;o)

  • I LOVE THE LETTER G.

    AND YOU.

  • OMFG DISNEYKID1.

    ben.

  • You'll see just how much I love you very soon.

    Crypticcccccc.

  • Um, last week I had a sinus infection for 6 days, then I had an allergic reaction to the medicine my doctor put me on. However, I wanted to tell you because it affected the right side of my face (only my right side of my nose was stuffy, right headache, right ear clogged, etc)

  • OH MY GOODNESS! SAME HERE! My cold is only affecting the right side of my face. My ear is plugged, my nose, my throat, left side! That awesome. Well...actuallly notsome, but crazy that we have the same thing!

  • Enjoy those motivational posters. Someday they'll be much darker, spread about your workplace trying to convince you that you don't work in a dark hellhole, and that all you need is persistence to reach the top.

It's mostly annoying because you know some high up said "Our employees seem dissatisfied with their jobs. What can we do to improve moral?"

"Raise wages and give better benefits?"

"Nah, that's too expensive. Let's get some motivational posters!"

    X.X

  • Guidance Counselor motivational posters are the worst. About the only thing my counselor ever told me was "You're not a candidate for Republic Steel". Ok... I'm not going to work in a steel mill, but I think you just slammed my dad...

  • the poster vis is my fav!

  • HOLY SHIT HAYLEY.

    BRAVE ARTICLE!

Seriously. I've never read anything like that in a school paper. No wonder it stirred up a controversy!!! Well done!

  • controversy of motivational posters... LOL! =]

  • I absolutely LOVE your article. It was amazing. Hope you get well soon!

  • I'm sick now too. You're not alone. : ) *hugs*

  • Your poem is absolutely amazing :)

I would love to read the guidance counselor's response . . . haha

  • p.s. - I friggin love the editorial! Can I send it into my school?

  • I'm a former high school journalism member, and I totally know what you mean, because no one ever reads the paper (though they should care because a LOT of work goes into it). Controversy is such fun though (our staff got on the bad side of the cheerleader/prep lead leadership class for asking why their rallies were always the same sexually charged stuff and why no one else got a say. We got a huge angry letter from them XD) Feel better soon!!!!

  • LOVE THE POEM!

  • when you said I'm so sick I automatically thought the flyleaf song.

    ...

    "I'm gonna breeeeaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkk!!!!!"

  • Oh my gosh controversy is my middle name too.

My teacher always tells me that i need to tone everything down. Actually... today i realized that the word shit might be on my page... so i might be in a lot of trouble. WHOOPS.

  • 1. BEST ARTICLE EVERR haha! Soo funny!! Literally had me laughing out loud. :]

    2. I want to be a high school english teacher.. and i am entralled and in love with the poem creating idea.. and your POEM. Its fantastic, im in love, and I am sure as heck x 3980389 doing that assignment in my future classroom. I'll be sure to give credit to hayley g hoover's english teacher ;]

YOU ARE SO MADE OF AWESOME, ITS DRIPPING OUT YOUR NOSE.. thats whats going on. its snot snot. ;]

    :]]]-sharon

  • HOLY CRAP! My cold is doing the same thing! My right nostril and ear are all stuffed up!

    Get better soon!

  • so you have the other half of Hayley's cold!! I bet she's wondering what happened to it. Now there will be a custody battle, who will get the other half of the cold?

  • I love the poem =)

And controversy over silly things like motivational posters is always fun?

  • I absolutely HATE motivational posters. Mostly because a lot of them are in some way false.

  • i really want to do that type of poem now.

  • sure are talking with your hands A LOT on this one hayley

  • That article was AMAZING.

My school newspaper is full of grammar errors and senseless ramblings, that rocked!!

    And the Poem was awesome!

  • haha, you're my favorite 5AG H. Controversy H.

    Get well soon!

  • You need a hug. :)

  • Awesome article. Do you have a picture of the counselor's reply letter?

  • Very nice article. I would like to hear more of your views on other topics....wow that sounds lame.

  • I love your article and poem. They are made of awesome.

Sorry that you're sick. =(I hate sick season. I have the most obnoxious cough and my voice magically vanishes every other sentence.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • Haha, I looooooved the article; and amazing poem, too! : D

  • brilliant article. reminds me of my school's banned underground newspaper that makes fun of all the bs at my school. go you!

  • I wish controversy was my middle name. No wait. Danger is my middle name. Lame joke.

    Woo Hayley Controvery Hoover xD

  • I don't see why that first comment was marked as spam....

I liked the maple syrup strawberry poem thing.

  • Oh man that article is fantastic!

  • I sure hope Kristina is an Amy Poehler fan. Otherwise this could end badly. I read the article, and I'm not surprised most of your teachers hated it, since it shows how little most of them really know about you. It is awesome that a few of them liked it though. Thanks for making a vid even though you were sickly, it was great as usual.

  • I love the poem, that is amazing. I want to try this with a few books, it looks like fun. Feel better, being sick is not fun.

    - Cait

  • Hahaha. I loved the article. And the poem.
