Personally, I love this movie. Doug's entitled to his own opinion and that's that. But it doesn't mean that EVERYONE should just blindly agree with him. I don't on The Pagemaster, Space Jam or The Mummy trilogy for example. Doug encourages others to have their own opinions, he's even admitted to not hating most of the films he reviews and that he's simply in character as the Critic. All the same, I think Doug's gay jokes about Alpha 5 just flat out suck. Alpha's like a little kid, he's not gay.

Tommy didn't say the great power could do anything, he said all things are possible, there's a small difference. They used the great power to power up the command center and revive Zordon. And Ivan Ooze's power is pretty equal to the great power the rangers found. So they had to defeat him by using brains.

While I don't know the reason why Walter who did the character Zack resigned before the movie, I know that Thuy Trang died in a car accident in California before the movie was made and after The Crow: City Of Angels put her in the Hollywood spotlight.

Walter Jones said they reason they left was because they weren't getting paid as much as the other actors, so because the people in charge didn't want to pay them enough, they chose to not bring them back and replace them instead. and btw, the guy who played, Jason, the orginal red ranger, also left with them for that same reason.
I however having grown up on super heroes & alltho I was in my 20's at the time, I am not afraid to admit I loved The Power Rangers!(I still have the original MegaZord!)Now the skydiving was not real.I remember reading in a behind the scenes book that it was done infront of a blue screen. As for the reason for change of characters, I'll never forget the day my Dad read in the newspaper three major actors from the Power Rangers were leaving to become movie stars!

I remember watching it in the theaters, and by that time I found it to be awesome. But looking at this video I wonder how mother could keep a straight face while watching this. And DAMN the effects might have been great for that time but look like absolute crap now.

I also loved Marvel and DC animated series, Turtles, but definitely also the Power Rangers.
LOVED the movie. I mean, come on, it was really good for what it's based on, especially at the time.
Also, the change of cast already occurred in the series, thank you very much...
Anyway, you take it too seriously. It's just a fun an entertaining adventure series and movie.
Besides, it's of course mostly for the very young crowd...

I remember watching the crap out of some Power Rangers back when I was 5. I don't know what channel it was on, but every afternoon they had a block of awesome shows: First Power Rangers, then Xena, then Hercules. I thought it kicked so much ass! :D

I was 5 when the movie came out. I really liked it........but one day I found a copy and my god. It seems when you are older you finally notice the SHIT in these movies when you were young. Cheesy lines. Cheesy scenes. Horrible acting.
