Also, with noses it doesn't eat any of the opponents cap if your at full, so run the shield booster purely to burn cap away and thus his.

The raven was kinda stupid for not having a shield booster. But I did loose a drake to 2 hawks. so a raven with no shield rep is believable. grats (even if its late)

If by "speed tanking" you mean flying fast enough to stay ahead of the explosion velocity, no, I was not speed tanking. sure, my speed helps against the explosion velocity but I have high resists and my sig radius is prolly a 1/3 of the explosion radius of the cruise. its not hard to tank cruise from a ratting raven setup.

I did not have a MWD on. He would have ripped my ship apart. He was a dumbass that sat out in the complex and didn't think i was gonna do anything to him. So he left me alone until i got within about 25km and he shot at me. I was able to get in on him, scam, jam, and keep at em with my t2 rockets. It took me at least 10 mins of fighting to kill him, but I did it myself. Everyone else was way out of range :)

Oh yeah, after skills and gang bonuses, my hawks base speed is over 300m/s. I had on a 1MN AB II which took me well over 700m/s.
