im from Estonia and i have actually a theory, why Estonia was chosen (aside from that sanjibai theory)- Estonians have been believed to live on same spot of land for over 10000 years. some say, that estonians ancestors arrived here right after last ice age (aprox 12000-10000 years BC). get my drift?

It's funny, that his name is "Linkavitch Chomofsky", Estonian names are not in such stile, unless you're Russian-Estonian. They could have named him something like "Mihkel Mets, Martin Kuusk, Toomas Tamm" (to have little similarity from typical English names, therefore easy to pronounce) or whatever, but Linkavitch? lol.

I think they named him Linkovitch because they were calling him the "Link" between modern day and prehistory. Dave then repeats "Link" to himself a few times and then decides they'll call their new friend "Linkovitch". The reason why they chose Estonia to be his false place of origin is because he's from the "Stone" age. Stone age... Stone... Estonia... Haha I loved this movie as a kid although it provided me no clue to what Estonia was like
