la premiere nuit dans le film, c'est pleine lune, et le jours suivantc'est l'eclipse, Or, 14 jours séparent la nouvelle lune (phase durant laquelle se déroule toute éclipse solaire) de la pleine lune
@valdejunquera les mayas n'étaient pas méchants et sanguinaires comme on le ressent dans le film. De plus les Mayas ont disparus au 10eme siècle, or, à la fin du film on aperçoit les bateaux espagnols qui arrivèrent 500 ans plus tard, quand même. au moment des sacrifices, les prêtres fêtent les corps des sacrifiés du haut de la pyramide. Cela ne se faisait pas, les corps étaient regroupés et cachés derrière la pyramide pour un souci d'hygiène et d'éthique. Il ne coupaient pas les têtes.
For me this movie is GREAT: don't mind about the execution scenes and brutality of Mayans that's not the aim at all. The moral I've understood is that at the beginning, there's a simple life, even if they joke each other (with sometimes delicate subjects) there's always a friendly atmosphere.
Then when civilization appears, sins appear too: envy for richest, thieving what cannot be afford, and in a way massive following of the population toward the leaders, although a wrong cause like today !
this movie don't describe well the mayns...they were, actually much more sadistic than in this movie. the biggest mistery nowadays, for archeologistas and historicists is hor mayan society survived for so long with this blood-obsessed culture

Another example is the people from Tlaxcala, while the Mexicas had conquered every tribe around them (Xochimilco, Texcoco etc) they never was able to defeat Tlaxcala, not becouse they couldn't but becouse a source of human sacrifice was there. oh yes. snake ink is my second favorit! the tattoo and the hairstyle are gorgeous and he's got - i mean as far as it is possible to see in the movie - a calm and focused character(absolute opposite to middle eye). the moment he got stabbed, i was like - nooooooo! XD
and i love him in this scene. all the other warriors are kind of excited and at the beginning, the way he moves into the scene and leans himself against the wall - all cool.
I'm glad that someone seems to have paid as much attention to him as I do. For me, the main mistake Mel Gibson made was killing him off =( I almost cried, and I still feel upset every time I watch it.
