Probably some of the best single malt in the world will taste gross if you just gulp it down! You're supposed to sip it- slowly- then it's amazing! Also that gulping stuff is from things like old Westerns, or guys who just came in from the battlefield during wars, and were cold and tired and wanted something fast, but ordinarily, whisky should be sipped slowly!

If you want to try real whisky, try Scotch, and try some good stuff from the Highlands (e. g. Glenmorangie or The Glenlivet) or from the western isles (Talisker from Skye or Ardbeg from Islay). Then you'll know what "the Real McCoy "tastes like! :-)
