Yes, this was quick, but he did have the power. He also had some nice hard and soft personal touches with some well placed pauses. I usually don't like a fast kata, but his hip rotation was great throughout, and his tequniques were crisp. Most fast kata on here isn't like that. Very impressive. I like the last kia. Thanks for posting. Oss.
What defines a good kata. In my opinon it all depends on who is looking at it. All forms should contain and maintain certain body dynamics. Along with balance coordination, and certain skeletal and muscular alignments and all this should be controled by the mind. Hence the term MIND and BODy arts
nice man look at my videos soon cuz i have a tournement and u have helped me alot so please see if ur viewings helped mine view my videos please and tell me how good i ham im not a high belt and im bumped up 3 divisions im only an orange belt which is the 4th belt for me so please
I thought this was one of the better amateur bassai dai's out there. His hips are sharp, which is the most important part to a strong kata. People can point and wine about some small things, but overall, I felt that the hips kept up to the pace, and that's hard to accomplish. Nice.
He did perform it a little quick but I dont personally believe that a kata being performed quick is a bad thing if they can do it. I think that vihn phan can perform this kata at speed and without loosing the technique :)
jesus, Bassai Dai means a storma dn a castle from waht i remember and that was awesome the application of power was great although i'd make you pauses longer if i were you but top notch stuff, have you any other dan kata's?
Nice job. Better than some others I have seen on here. Still too quick for my taste though. I like fast techniques, but not too fast in the overall timing of the kata. I always tell my son, move fast, count slow. Part of making a technique really stand out is contrast. zero to 100mph to zero again. Can't see the "zeros" in between if next technique starts too soon.
Lack of strength in katas is one of the problems with most martial artists today. They learn all of these moves but would never be able to use them in a real application. Practicing katas smoothly all of the time is a waste. You need to go for raw power at times and form other times.
hey what i think your doing here is great and there arent alot of good kata vedios out out there but please dont take this the wrong way but you just need to concentrate your movement strenght is important but to much is not good

I am learning this kata at the moment and although this looks really, really good it seems to be a little too quick.
