Nazi ideology stressed the failures of communism, liberalism, and democracy and they persecuted anyone who followed those ideas. That doesn't sound very left wing by anyone's standards.

Why do you guys make me repeat myself? Just because somebody is a Socialist, does not mean he believes in democracy. The Socialist Baathist regimes of the Middle East and the theocracy of Iran are examples of radical forms of Socialism. Its a historical fact the Castro was an admirer of Mussolini.

Mussolini was a Third Positionist, he opposed both capitalism and communism. The Ba'aathst regime and the Iran are indeed extreme. Iran however is RIGHT WING - the left wing (and thus socialist) parties are illegal and banned. You seem to think that any place where freedom is curtailed must automatically be socialist.

BTW, Hugo Chavez regularly calls himself a Socialist. If you truly are college educated in political science, you need to learn the concept of relativity. Fascism, which is a subset of European Socialism, is a kind of curse term that the Left in the USA has used with varying success to smear Conservatives to the less educated. The reason I label Huff Po bloggers as Fascist is because I detect a mindset that is undemocratic. For example, when I hear Bill Maher demand that Obama ram through universal health care using his super majority, over and the will of the people, I label that Fascist.
