  • I love how there are 6 dislikes. What the hell is wrong with some people? FANTASTIC TRIO!!!

  • Wouldn't it be amazing if all us guys out there on youtube brought our instruments and got together for one huge EPIC jam! We would spend weeks getting through everyone!

  • Wrong Title, Wrong Album. "Standards 2" (which does feature a great rendition of "So Tender") is a studio recording, not a live one.

  • @hrd124gt....spot on the money my good man...nuff sed.

  • O Megyalows O Alexandros Jarrett.

  • No words can rightly describe the beauty of this...Truly reaches into the heart and soul...Thank you...

  • The finest piano trio in the known universe.

  • gary peacock looks like the first crew of mission impossible...

  • Keith, you are by far, one of the greatest pianist of all times! Watching you become "one" with a piano is positively mesmerizing and extremely entertaining! Combined as a trio, there could not have been more an awesome genetic mix. Thank you guys for you years of timeless contributions that can be enjoyed for decades to come, thank you! I actually have "goose pimples" right this very second. . .lol. . . Thank you!

  • @pycroft :D:D:D:D:D

  • @pycroft lol i agreed

    NOT

  • @pycroft agreed 20 meausre of the same notes makes the message really clear.

  • @pycroft Go troll somewhere else.

  • The sound that he makes, the way he plays..makes him different..u should enjoy this as well ! music not only what u hear !

  • Make your order now # lushfmlk.info #

  • I would recommend to many of sound technician and sound engineer that would you please remove the noise that come from his mouth please and rewrite it again, that would be the historical record of Jazz history

  • There is only the moment in this piece that I feel like he is taking me to heaven that is only the beginning.

  • Again, Keith Jarrette will be the best Jazz musicain if he sit properly on the chair and stop making noise that interupt the music . I try to close my eyes and built my emmotion to listen his marvelous interpretation but I can't go with him since he made a lot of noise that comes from his mouth. He often say "OH" during his improvisation while he playing that is really ugly. Please don't twist the body and stand up and dancing while perform such a profound pieces like this anymore.

  • you nothing but a bunch of ingorant lumberjacks: this song title is" SOFT WINDS"

  • @ilpoppante naw man its YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT LOVE IS.....

  • this song is not So Tender

  • Rick Wakeman blows this guy away.

  • I prefer the way Herbie Hancock opens up standards like these.

  • Please change it!

  • attraverso le tue note è sempre poesia e tempo sublime

  • This is 'The Meaning Of The Blues'!- Fc

  • Thanks for this lovely Weather Channel concert, Keith!

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful version of You Don't Know What Love is, by my all-time favorite trio!

  • I just saw the tro at theNJPAC in newark nmew Jersey last week. Excellent show!!!

  • heavenly

  • thank's a lot for posting it

  • that stockholm 1989 concert is now out on blue music group. the whole thing!! i've been waiting for this to happen.

  • Classical? No wonder.Keith plays Bach,Handel.....

  • its "you don"t know what love is"

  • not "so tender"

  • Amazing...around 0:05 and 7:40 there is a melody line from his "The wind" (I believe from the Japanese concert). I love how he mixed it in there...beautiful..

  • UNbelievable introduction... it sounds like a cassical composition.

  • guess he is the chosen one

  • gary peacock's solo here is unbelievable

  • Keith is so masterful with the way he implements jaw-droppingly beautiful chords into such subtle progressions. For example: 0:51 - 1:20, then he follows with 1:24 - 1:30. Subtle and easily overlooked, but so colorful.

  • Superb!

  • Do you call that singing? I was reading comments and then heard an annoying buzzing sound. I thought it was my speakers. Beautiful otherwise!

  • Do really know what you're saying?! they're certainly not singing, but playing to themselves with the voice the music they are going to play in a while with the instruments. They are "singing the instrument": it means that they really know in their minds what's gonna come out from their hands, and it is not just instinct or a scale up and down. It's the greatest jazz. They are composing while playing and recording! ...And you talk about singing! Please, shhhhhhut up

  • Obviously you misread my comment which asked a genuine question "Do you call that singing?"!

It was not a sarcastic comment!!!!

It's a problem where emotion and accentuation are hard to be put into words easily.

I agree that it is great jazz. I feel that his "singing the instrument", somewhat spoils the fantastic sound they produce with their instruments! Bill Evans doesn't "sing the instrument" and I haven't seen other performances where it is so noticeable.

    Enjoy the Instruments.

  • that was amazing.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • sooo tender

  • please change the title to " You Don't Know What Love Is"

    Thanks

  • this song is "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT LOVE IS" and not "SO TENDER"!!

  • La magia di una condivisione assoluta. Classe unica.

Solo che il brano è "You don't know what love is"

  • è talmente tanta la bellezza che esprimono..che a tratti non ce la si fa a sentirli..incredibile..è troppo..grazie di esistere....

  • My Hero!

  • I found a new album by a guy from New Orleans that sounds like Brad Mehldau meets Keith Jarrett Trio. It's called True Stories and you can get it on iTunes. You can also look it up under Jesse Boyd Trio.

  • ma chi cazzo ha scritto 'so tender'?

questa è: You don't know what love is

uno dei migliori pezzi jazz di sempre!!!

  • ułłła kocham tego faceta

  • This is it - this is some of the best jazz you will ever hear. "You Don't Know What Love Is" is one of the most beautiful jazz standards ever written. Jarrett and company are at their very best. What a treat!

  • this is ' you don' t know what love is'

    not so tender,

  • There is just impossible to play better...

  • You don't know what love is

Until you've learned the meaning of the blues

Until you've loved a love you've had to lose

You don't know what love is

You don't know how lips hurt

Until you've kissed and had to pay the cost

Until you've flipped your heart and you have lost

You don't know what love is

    It's a very sad lyric

  • :-), nothing to say ! chut... [:-)

  • oh man! what a great version of this beautiful standard! I think its been said before. Could you please correct yourself, doublebassbrasil? The song is called 'You Dont Know What Love Is'.

  • Yeah, its definently "You dont know what love is" (until you know the meaning of the blues). Sometimes this tune is refered to the second part of the title, I guess both work on their own and together :)

    Best regards

    Sandemose

  • Gary is so fucking flawless with this song, this is possibly the best I've heard him play.

  • Appunto! Questa è You don't know what Love is non So Tender...

  • can't get enough!

  • Yeah, this is beautiful..

  • This song is called you don't know what love is (until you know the meaning of the blue)

  • Yes, this song is "You don't know what love is", a standard song. And it is not Keith's original song "So Tender". Please fix the title of this song, DoubleBassBrasil! :)

  • oh man, when gary and jack come way down on the last B...so tasty.

  • one of the mosted wicked trios on this planet.

  • i love this trio;)

  • i think in this song gary showed that bass can be more romantic than piano....great bass line and also perfect solo....

  • This song is "You don't know what love is"

    NOT "So Tender"

    Terry Finch

  • this tune is "you don't know what love is"

    Not So Tender

  • so tender is more deep and dark

  • Yow, what connection.

  • Probably the most memorable piece of this DVD. His lyrical sense and dynamic control is breathtaking. This is also true for When you Wish upon a Star from the same DVD, hard for me to say which is my favorite.

And yeah as Kyl says this is You Don't know what Love Is.

  • uhhh this is you don't know what love is... not so tender....

  • Valeu! É um dos melhores concertos gravados em vídeo desse grande trio. Se existe em DVD não sei...eu tinha em VHS...quase inacreditável que vão se fazendo 20 anos dessa gravação...Obrigado por postar.
