yeah that would be a rad idea, but you cant coil split the slash duncans as they are single conductor wire, and im sure, as any buyer of a LP traditional pro would, you like the coil tapping feature
I can't afford a real Less Paul at this time, but I did find a player, that s a vintage Encore guitar that looks just like a less Paul classic accept for the open book head stock an the inscription on the head stock, from my research I' ve found that one of the luthers that worked in the Ibenze factory at that time did work for Gibson. It works for me. But I'm not famous.
Uhhhhhhhh.....YEAH!!!! I'd say!! Reminds me of a buddy that had a Washburn Paul Stanley-model with a signed pickgaurd and didn't even know what he had, so he just thrashed it out and the signature is nearly gone now. :-(
Well honestly it depends on what ur playing or if ur wanting to upgrade. The Gibson has better wood and electronics normally, but in this case the Slash Les Paul has upgraded pots, tuners, and Seymour Duncan pickups so you really only lose wood quality. If you want the Slash sound and go with the gibson you can achieve it but it won't have the Alnico 2 propickups so you will put more money into the studio after the additional cost.. With this Epiphone you're getting much better value..
its just as good coz they have the same pickups... the only difference is the name in the headstock... if your only after the tone, epi is just right, but if your after the image, brand and budget is not a problem... go with the gibson! i think its a $3-4K difference...☺
ok. I have a lp and a few others, but i am not good at playing. I started collecting guitars before i even started to learn how to play, thats why i have several. I thought maybe Slash himself just rotated the switch so it went backwards, for his comfortability, and thats what you might have been sayin. lol. all good.
Uhhhhh....no. The treble pickup is the BRIDGE (down position on toggle) pickup, and the rhythm pickup is the NECK (up position on the toggle), jackass.
@revolutionday1 Why did you called me jackass, I don't have a Les Paul and I don't know which is what I have other guitar, so why did you call me jackass???
I see you are from the U.S. that's explain everything.
If you don't actually have a Les Paul, maybe you shouldn't go posting a comment more-or-less acting as if you know what you're talking about, then?? JACK-ASS!!!
Feel free to flame this moron back into the stone age for shitting on the United States, people.
@revolutionday1 You obviously you have on? Right? You can call me whatever you want, but the thing that you know one thing and want to make everyone around you look dumb is pretty childish. And I know that the switch was turned to treble and that's it and I'm sure you know nothing about what I play or what I do, so stop making yourself clever.
P.S.: You could go to a shrink to tell you how much complexes you have. Which is obvious by the way you call everyone.
"I will not reply you anymore, because it'll mean to fell on your level. So I think I'll pass. " Stick to you guns, Suckabitch. Everybody's done reading your rants. You spoke on something you obviously and admittedly had no clue about, and you got called out. Keep the line moving, asshole.
yeah studios are great...tell you what else is a fantatic guitar an orville les paul..all the parts and pick ups of a real les paul standard just with out the gibson name and a fraction of the price
god fucking damit when will ANYBODY FUCKING REALIZE THAT GUNS ISNT JUST SWEET CHILD O MINE im not talking about the guy whos playing just those stupid fucks who are like "oh yah sweet child o mine and welcome to the jungle are the best songs ever" i personally think sweet child and welcome are way to over rated and there are WAY better songs that guns has made
I've seen the video of slash at the guitar center in Northridge and he played this on a gibson version of this guitar. It sounded the same as this so it's cool that they didn't skip on quality sound with this epiphone.
its 1000 bucks , for a epiphone , do you think is better than the gibson les paul standard ? thats now around the same price or the gibson les paul studio thats 700 bucks ? which one would you rather have ?
Is the Gibson LP Standard 1K? I thought they were more... I think I would take a Gibson over an Epiphone if they were both 1K. But since I think the Gibson is way more, I would then say the Epi, which plays well and has the Seymour Duncans already installed... hope this helps!
I bought it from a co worker who won it in a contest at a live concert put on by his employer, Best Buy. After he won it, Slash autographed it. Maybe Musicians Friend has one?
Slash playes SCoM with the neck pup, which is the one I am using. In the room, it sounds EXACTLY like the intro.... maybe the USB mic added some high or something.
Not true. Most do not have an autograph on the body. It was signed by Slash himself at a concert held by Best Buy here in California for their employees. My friend won the guitar, then was autographed in person... The guitar comes with a signed picture of Slash, but not an autograph on the guitar itself.
Its just an autograph of a true guitar hero, and has nothing to do with my style or playing. I barely know 3 GnR's tunes, but love the tone and feel of the guitar.
I actually bought it from a co-worker who had it signed at a Best Buy concert that Slash played at in California. He signed 20 of the guitars... i got one of em.

yea thats what he plays it in. i guess its your pup's that give it more balls cause it sounds like me playing it in my bridge pup. but yea he plays it in the neck. look like your were playin it in the bridge my fault bro. stil awsome tho. i want one. guitar center has the epi verson for 1000. and they go all the way up to the gibson version's that run 10,000
Yeah I should have played a little on the bridge. Also the "sweet woman" tone (neck pup with tone all the way down). Check out my Still Got the Blues vid for both pups. Thanks bro.

confused here, on my les paul (and all the other guitars I have) the treble position is the bridge pickup, and the rythem postion is the neck pickup.

the truss rod?

Yeah the rod in the fretboard... turning the screw (covered by the Epiphone plate by the nut) will contour the fretboard as needed.
