    some people may like linux and macs, but windows is a great os if configurated correctly.

  • It's basically a free version of Microsoft Office.

  • Yes, Open Office has been around for sometime now, guess you just aren't in the loop. I think I have been using it for at least 5-6 years now.

  • If you don't want to install any codecs, try Total Video Player, is freeware and it has an internal engine that reproduces almost any file.

  • Some alternatives to the emulators listed (which will mostly be TAS emulators) are..

    SNES: snes9x

    NES: FCE Ultra / Jnes (for Kaillera, same creator as Project64)

    GBA: VisualboyAdvance

    N64: Mupen 64 (Mupen 64k or Project 64k if you're interested in Kaillera)
