Once you make it out of Kerbin's Orbit you don't need fuel your Velocity is keeps you going forward, But i made it so far the Star's Orbit Caught my ship so i was forever stuck orbiting at 12000m/s at warp 1000X with no fuel to get back to Kerbin it was 121 days before i just gave up.

@MrLukestar123 Orbiting the sun is rather easy, All you need is tonnes of fuel on your last couple engines to get out of earth's gravity, but you need a massive launch system to lift something that heavy.

It's even easier if you get in orbit of the earth, you just need to do a long burn on full power prograde, then wait.

I'm quite impressed, Kerbin (home planet) to space in 5 attempts. Even Kurt (major space/rocketry-buff, kurtjmac) couldn't do that. Nor could I, with stock parts at least. Using mods, I hit space (millions of km, in fact) on my first post-mod-installation attempt, using FTL engines...

@leaf732 He is going to need a (much) bitter rocket for that. Here is a video of my first Mun rocket. It has gotten easier in 0.13.1 with the fuel lines, but it still takes a pretty good sized rocket to get there, land, and take off again. However, if his goal is to only orbit, he could do that with a stack of four tanks and an engine if he is a really good pilot.

@MrCraThe there isn't enough drag outside of the atmosphere to stop him. So no. If he had gotten into orbit he would be stuck. If that isnt true then the moon (mun in this game) would've already collided with earth. There is practically no drag in space.
