From time to time I experiance moments in my life where everything doesn feel real. I will look at someone and think as then as a charactor in a video game or maybe someone from a book I read recently and there are other times where I find myself having a full on conversation with no body at all. I consider myself to be normal, but I wouldnt know much about normal considering I rarely ralk to anyone, I prefer to be secluded and left alone. Most of the time.

I'm 14 and I have schizophrenia but I've only hallucinated a handful of times... I'm very thankful I don't have to suffer with voices and monsters too. Plus this video is fucking creepy.
You can't be diagnosed with schizophrenia at fourteen and if you've only hallucinated a small number of times then you simply do not have it. I am an actual schizophrenic and trust me, hallucinations occur on a day to day basis and there is an ever present change to the perception of the world the way I think and the way people hear me and what I say. This video is kind of... funny.
@LSDlucid I have very strong, constant, and complex delusions and those plus negative symptoms keep me from being able to function in life. Plus I'm currently taking medicine that's supposed to be for schizophrenia and I see a psychologist once a month and a social worker once a week, so yeah I think I do. Oh and you can have it at any age, smart one.
@LSDlucid to be diagnosed with schizophrenia you dont have to be an adult. the only age restriction is that the symptoms have to have been going on for 6 months before full diagnosis. there are diagnosed schizophrenics as young as four years old.
My mom has schizophrenia and basically what it is ..is there afraid someones going to hurt them so they down talk you or are easily defensive moody and change there moods and make no sense..and they talk to themselves and there imaginary 'friends' in there mind out loud. It could be my mom has personal demons but when she was younger she got into a car accident and had to have surgery to put herself back together..so there basically paranoid, defensive, and socially reserved.
@TheP8ntballer i wasn't implying that ALL schizophrenics are exactly that way. It affects people differently depending on there personality. You get it either from genetics, excessive drug abuse, or if something traumatic happened to you and you've tried serpressing it. My great grandma, grandma, mother, and my sisters ex boyfriend has it so i know what im talking about. There impossible to deal with when they have there episodes. @pussiecyatdoll - It seems mostly like an asshole-ish video made specifically to set off any schizophrenics who might happen to watch. I'm not schizophrenic but I can tell some of the stuff in the video could set off an episode or a mini-episode in a schizophrenia sufferer. Things like the overlapping voices, the disorganized syntax and bizarre references caused by the overlapping words, the emphasis on the eyes of the man staring in the video and his odd, shifting facial expressions.
It's a disease caused by abnormal levels of dopamine in the brain, not a different way of handling the world. I'm pretty sure if you went out and asked people suffering from schizophrenia, they'd rather not have the hallucinations or dellusions. No one would choose this...
I believe that schizophrenia for some people is a diesease that was created as a technology virus and is injected in us..maybe from a source of evil. Because you can hear voices, and see things that maybe be holograhic. Which is weird. It sometimes is called on a person to help this world.

I'm a college student. In studying abnormal psychology this video looks like its supposed to depict what it's like to be in the mind of someone suffering from Schizophrenia. There is no good reason to flag this video for those of you who are saying to do so. There is no reason to ban this video either! Dear people I've been suffering hearing voices for the past 9 years. I have some peace NOW because i stop eating red meat like steak, rib,so I eat white meat instead like chicken, fish, and turkey with boiled vegetables, carrots, potatoes, and I stop eating sugary things like candy and soda i eat fruit fruit has it's own sugar. I have schophrenia, it came on because of a brain injury when I was 7 I'm 14 now. You can't tell just by looking at me, my friends know. I don't just go around telling people but the wrong person hears and tells everybody then suddenly YOU become a freak because THEY don't understand what's going on.
they are all different, many hear voices, some may hallucinate, it is common to believe god or devil or alien may be talking to them. i have met some that the illness was brought out cos they were studing too hard or others have had a greivance and it flared up, it is not souly brought out with drugs though this can cause paranoid psychotic episodes. this disease is controlled with drugs and many lead a normal life, plz read up on it and the facts.
i cant believe half the comments i read on here, paranoia schizophrenia is not caused by drug abuse. If you are susceptible to ps it is with you when you are born, it usually comes out in early teens and not only can be flared up by drug abuse but a traumatic experience, it has not been proved it is genetic but there are warnings it could be. there are many types of schizophrenia and each patient experinces different symptoms, in my experience (being married to one for 9yrs and meeting many)

Unfortunately i have this! started with a phycotic episode. and so the docs said! took myself off the meds... horrific things they are.. killed me from the inside out no energy. my friends said i wasnt me! unfortunately symtoms came back.. i have good and bad days.but better than meds because i had no good days. im determined to not let this illness stop my life. im coping well so far. capable of doing anything still. engineering student math is very strong for me.travel in the summer! live more
After watching this I have GREAT respect for those with skitzophrenia. It must be so hard to deal with, all I can say is be strong and live life how you want to in a positive way. don't let an illness define you. and be the best you can be while dealing with the voices.
@angelicprincess1986 Not to be a downer, but there is no cure for schizophrenia, only treatments to keep it in check. But that's great that you care for her. Keep being there for her and it will help. People with mental illnesses need a good strong support base, especially since there is such a stigma associated with mental illness. Most people tend to avoid "crazy people", and it's really sad, because they have just as much of a disability as someone in a wheelchair, and they need friends too.

Forgot to say that after 4 she raised up with an other family because her father was in the pyschiatry clinic. So for her, her parents are two other people (after her fathers move to do something bad) and not her biological because she raised up with her uncle and aunt. Have to say that her father took drugs (Sometimes) and at his place (when he did what he did) they found an empty bottle of vodka.

I want to ask something very serious because it bothers me a lot. My girlfriend she is 21 years old and she is very healthy but her father is in the psychiatry clinic because he is diagnosed with maybe the biggest level of schizofrenia. You can't be diagnosed with schizophrenia at fourteen and if you've only hallucinated a small number of times then you simply do not have it. I am an actual schizophrenic and trust me, hallucinations occur on a day to day basis and there is an ever present change to the perception of the world the way I think and the way people hear me and what I say. Plus I'm currently taking medicine that's supposed to be for schizophrenia and I see a psychologist once a month and a social worker once a week, so yeah I think I do. @LSDlucid to be diagnosed with schizophrenia you dont have to be an adult. the only age restriction is that the symptoms have to have been going on for 6 months before full diagnosis. there are diagnosed schizophrenics as young as four years old.

My mom has schizophrenia and basically what it is ..is there afraid someones going to hurt them so they down talk you or are easily defensive moody and change there moods and make no sense..and they talk to themselves and there imaginary 'friends' in there mind out loud. It could be my mom has personal demons but when she was younger she got into a car accident and had to have surgery to put herself back together..so there basically paranoid, defensive, and socially reserved.

You get it either from genetics, excessive drug abuse, or if something traumatic happened to you and you've tried serpressing it. My great grandma, grandma, mother, and my sisters ex boyfriend has it so i know what im talking about. There impossible to deal with when they have there episodes. I'm not schizophrenic but I can tell some of the stuff in the video could set off an episode or a mini-episode in a schizophrenia sufferer. Things like the overlapping voices, the disorganized syntax and bizarre references caused by the overlapping words, the emphasis on the eyes of the man staring in the video and his odd, shifting facial expressions.

they are all different, many hear voices, some may hallucinate, it is common to believe god or devil or alien may be talking to them. i have met some that the illness was brought out cos they were studing too hard or others have had a greivance and it flared up, it is not souly brought out with drugs though this can cause paranoid psychotic episodes. this disease is controlled with drugs and many lead a normal life, plz read up on it and the facts.

i cant believe half the comments i read on here, paranoia schizophrenia is not caused by drug abuse. If you are susceptible to ps it is with you when you are born, it usually comes out in early teens and not only can be flared up by drug abuse but a traumatic experience, it has not been proved it is genetic but there are warnings it could be. there are many types of schizophrenia and each patient experinces different symptoms, in my experience (being married to one for 9yrs and meeting many)

@angelicprincess1986 Not to be a downer, but there is no cure for schizophrenia, only treatments to keep it in check. But that's great that you care for her. Keep being there for her and it will help. People with mental illnesses need a good strong support base, especially since there is such a stigma associated with mental illness. Most people tend to avoid "crazy people", and it's really sad, because they have just as much of a disability as someone in a wheelchair, and they need friends too.

I used to do good in school, i find it hard to talk to new people, I think of hurting people in my school that deserve it, I used to hear voices in my head but that stopped. Are those signs of schizophrenia? and i smoke alot of weed

Forgot to say that after 4 she raised up with an other family because her father was in the pyschiatry clinic. So for her, her parents are two other people (after her fathers move to do something bad) and not her biological because she raised up with her uncle and aunt. Have to say that her father took drugs (Sometimes) and at his place (when he did what he did) they found an empty bottle of vodka.

parents with this disease will have 10% of chances to get sick and schizofrenic. My question is the following: Is that true? Is there a risk that I will lose my girlfriend because of that, it sounds stupid I know, I mean that one day MAYBE (because of those stupid 10%) she will get sick like her father? I want to ask something very serious because it bothers me a lot. My girlfriend she is 21 years old and she is very healthy but her father is in the psychiatry clinic because he is diagnosed with maybe the biggest level of schizofrenia. When he was 27 he did something terrible to his wife (my girlfriends mother) I dont want to write what he did but you get the picture. Many websites and doctors are saying that this disease can "pass on" from generation to generation and if a child have one of

@giorgossaris have to say that he took drugs and founded at his place (the day that he did something bad to his wife) an empty bottle of vodka. First he diagnosed with psychos its the name in swedish I dont know in english and then with schizofrenia that got worse.
