Perhaps the strap that you say is used to hold papers is actually meant to wrap around the monitor to keep the rear flap from falling. Have you tried this?
Actually, it is meant to wrap around the monitor. CoolerMaster (parent brand of Choiix) has a youtube channel "CoolerMasterNA" and a vid clearly demonstrating that the strap is meant to hold onto the monitor - your netbook just doesnt fit the sleeve 100% (or vice versa).
That's kind of why I liked it. 80s daytimer when you pull it out of your bag and set it on the table. Then BAM...its a Netbook! Got a few laughs at the coffee shop from some peoples reaction.

Nope, its not meant to wrap around the monitor, its actually designed to hold papers. And I have tried doing just that, it doesn't work.

Its really old fashioned and it doesn't catch my eyes at all. For laptop/netbook carrying case, I personally prefer the posturepedic ones.
