I'm a 32 year old black woman, I don't have any children nor have I ever been pregnant. When women ask me why this is, I tell them because I don't have a husband. I then get the " You better hurry up" or " Your living in a fantasy world". I tell them, I rather live in my fantasy than in your nightmare! Dealing with child support, 3 baby daddies. I'm not super-woman I want a father for my children!
This is good advice for all women, not just black women. I think the issue of poor family planning has more to do with socio-ecomonic factors than it does race. It makes me sad when I hear people talk about fatherless homes as if this is a black problem - it sends the message that black people fundamentally make poor choices.

I'm so lucky to have been raised by both parents who were in the household. I've been with my husband for 15 years and I owe that to the work both of my parents put into raising me. I am a nurse and I work at a convalescent home I notice most elderly people in these homes are white people and few blacks I wandered why was there few blacks and from other jobs I notice black woman take care of their elders and black men are no where to be found ever. Even the health care team in most facilities or in home care services notice the absence of black men.

So there's no connection as an analogy. Common sense is usually applied prior to the 'increased desire' to engage in an activity. That is to say, the decision of a woman to lay down w/ a man primarily hinges on internal and external forces (loneliness, inclusion, lack of vision, and even curiosity).

This is good advice for all women, not just black women. I think the issue of poor family planning has more to do with socio-ecomonic factors than it does race. It makes me sad when I hear people talk about fatherless homes as if this is a black problem - it sends the message that black people fundamentally make poor choices.

I am a nurse and I work at a convalescent home I notice most elderly people in these homes are white people and few blacks I wandered why was there few blacks and from other jobs I notice black woman take care of their elders and black men are no where to be found ever. Even the health care team in most facilities or in home care services notice the absence of black men.

Brother I have to disagree w/you on this subject matter. Firstly, an automobile is an inanimated object w/o demands and emotions, and is not capable of transmitting in any way human interaction. So there's no connection as an analogy. Common sense is usually applied prior to the 'increased desire' to engage in an activity. That is to say, the decision of a woman to lay down w/ a man primarily hinges on internal and external forces (loneliness, inclusion, lack of vision, and even curiosity).

Alot of bw have common sense, but they do not use it sometimes. BW can't always blame a man for the mistake she is apart of. Before any female hook up with any guy, she needs to look at his back ground. Does he have kids, what this guy does for work or in his spare time, and is he looking for a relationship as well. Most women do not think like that, they expect the man just to fully commit to her.

I'm not accusing you of anything--just asking. Have you EVER been guilty of helping to make certain women feel bad about themselves or not as attractive as other women, based on their size, weight, hair texture, skin, etc.? Are there any fatherless girls in your family who might have become one of those women of whom you speak? Any females in your family with multiple children but no husband or father for the children? The issue is not as simplistic as this video suggest.

There were "some" good points made in this video, but some were downright chauvinistic, insulting and degrading. Do you preach to (especially young, but all ages) black males about what they need to do as preventive measures? Do you preach to them about not pressuring women to speed the relationship along or to not try and make girls feel bad about waiting? Also, do you yourself refrain from trying to persuade black women into sex, before you are ready to marry them and treat them right? Curious

I think women use a little more common sense because we are the one's carrying the race. If it wasn't for us some of us would be extremely messed up if we wre dependent on black men, and if you really paid any attention most of the people that attend school (higher education) are black women over black men. so they can possibly get better pay. Not only that, alot of brothers these days especially young ones can't fix a sink, know NOTHING about a car, and wouldn't know where to start to even put up a sheet of drywall. The difference between now and then is, for so long women have had NO CHOICE but to be the head of the household. Some brothers need to learn HOW to run a household, then maybe a woman will submit.
