I saw the movie years ago - and I was thrilled by this song, which opened the movie. (That was 10 million light years ago, right - the Reagan Administration?)
Thank goodness for Youtube! Love this song...Love the sentiments, but NY's interpretation make it the best cover yet.
@dewatsa This video is from the beginning of the movie "Where the Buffalo Roam", a movie about Hunter S. Thompson, the guy that wrote the book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Neil Young did the music for the movie and Bill Murray played Thompson............ So uh, it pretty much it has everything to do with it "Laugh out Loud"
@Louis555hob Just search "Home on the Range" on youtube. Trillions of people have covered this traditional song. But this one by Neil Young is amazing and all he uses for most of it is just his voice (a capella) and a haunting harmonica.
@punkkindrublicc too bad hes gone And I never even got to meet him if he was still alive i would ve cried HES MY FREAKING IDOL Everytime I have A Slurpee im Like Bill Muarry and Johnny Depp in F&LIV and yeah you can get the jist of what im saying

This song is about man making a home for himself by alluding to the idea of the American frontier and exceptionalism.
