  • Super Eno

  • Where in gods name can I get a pair of insect eye shades?

  • Does ANYONE know who that beautiful blond girl is in the beginning of this video (0:17)? I think I have a crush on her!!!!!!!!

  • @jordan3222002 you know that today she is near to 40 years older ;-)

  • @jakajaman22 Thanks for reminding me, but fantasies are still fun. Don't you think she is a cutie?

  • @jordan3222002: As this is a 1972 live performance on German TV: Move to Germany - we have lots of them - but be warned - they have gotten sillier somehow - women in the 70s, 80s + parts of the 90s were smarter + more intelligent.

Silly hysterical Britney Spears spoilt them all !

  • @jordan3222002 you have got luck

    i prefer brunette women

that means there is no competition between us ;-)

  • @jordan3222002 her name is Sabine Bock

  • @coxhoe789 Are you serious? Do you know her? She is lovely.

  • Eno looking trippy on the VCS3! I like this performance even more than the album version.

  • 40年前はこれが最先端だったんだよな。

  • @mikegoons They're both riffs on "Waiting For The Man" though, eh?

  • The audience screwed up the ending!

  • brulee ferry is the pop monnn, since he..., the whole world has declined in popular culture, from then on in, the counter culture haqs emerged once again, brian jonestown massacre an post veterans to psychedellic 90s to mdma 00s has left us with a large gap of reunition ready to be mind fucked by the 2010sssssssss let go mother fag boys and girls and make some good music, our lethargic apathy is infuriatingly slow. jump into the river of sound motherfuckers.

  • Yey, this is amazing, what a band. Somehow I had only known about Ferry and Eno separately and had missed all of this. I am looking forward to getting all the roxy music I can. Thanks for posting!!

  • @memeandfuc

Lolz, you must either be a troll or highly misinformed.

Aside from being one of the top glam bands of the early 70s and influencing countless groups from The Smiths to Talking Heads, they also got Brian FUCKING ENO's career bloody started, while also managing to put out classic albums like their debut, For You Pleasure, Siren, Country Life, and Avalon.

Plus, nothing else really sounded like them. Not even Bowie.

  • @memeandfuc, your a joke

  • lets' dance !!!!!

  • Magic, OK who is Virginia Plain? or is it a plain in Virginia?

  • @malcstag it's a painting that brian painted.

  • @1nterwebs . Thanks for the reply, this was our art college anthem, always seemed stuck on the duke box at the Angel in Southampton when no one had any money!

  • @malcstag saw them in 72 awesome. saw them in early 80s better first time aj

  • The girl at the front of the stage..

0:19 - the moment of recognition she's seeing and hearing the coolest thing ever. 0:20 - Looking back at her companions to see if they feel the same way.

  • A timeless classic!

  • isnt Eno late for Big Birds birthday lol

  • What a band! Just so much going on. As revolutionary as anything the Beatles did.

  • Just realised that Virginia Plain refers to US geopolitics not an ordinary looking lass - Thanks for lyrics.

  • The Dogs Dangly bits!

  • Bass players just don't get it do they? locked in a time warp! GET YOUR HAIR CUT MY SON!! LOOK AT MR FERRY, NOW THAT'S WHAT YOU SHOULD BE LOOKING LIKE!!!

  • from japan(nihon 日本)

    i love this style band

  • I want Brian Eno's jacket.

  • @MarqueeMoon95 I want Ferry's myself!

  • They're both pretty epic.

  • I am a midget cyclops with a micro-penis, still get laid when I put Roxy on

  • I remember watching this on TV in Germany when it first broadcast. I lived in Bremen and a girl from my class actually got into the taping. TV was different then. The show ran longer than scheduled as Roxy was having a good time and they ended up playing a bunch more songs. Roxy Music was my favourite band and I was a very happy teenager.

  • Great Song, God damn Eno is a genius!!! Ferry I think is really trying to sing this like Dylan.

  • i think he,s singing this like bryan ferry

  • Ferry is so suave!

  • Best three note keyboard solo ever - go Brian!!!!

  • @michiganpie I think that's something Bowie once said, and I agree, Eno's solo is the high point of the song. And like FelixMechant said, I just commented elsewhere that Eno is a fucking genius.

  • Brain Eno !!! He still has his hair ~ :))

  • Amazing audio and video quality - thank you.

  • Ferry is the fucking James Bond of rock!!!!!!!!!

  • @daytripperarrabal James Bond of Rock...HeeHee.........BULLSEYE!!!! DAYTRIPPERARRABAL.......BULLSEYE!!!

  • @daytripperarrabal Maybe the Buckaroo Banzai of rock?

  • @daytripperarrabal yes . . . yes he is. very well put

  • Elvis Presley meets the Avant Garde in a B-Hollywood romance/science fiction movie. That's Roxy Music. Genius fun.

  • wow

    nice swing :)

  • viva Roxy Music. I love you

  • OMG this is awesome! Love the Musikladen vids. They were all such good quality.

Urenco1...Eno is producing lots of big names. U2 and Coldplay come to mind, but many others.

  • wonderful, simply wonderful. teenage rebels of the 20th century.

  • Whats Brian Eno doing now?

  • Producing succesful records. The last Coldplay & U2, for example. But he has done so much great things, solo records, collaborations (David Byrne), produced masterpieces (Remain In Light)...

  • virginia plain witha filter tastes nicer & is an extraordinarily convenient way of paying tax on ones state severe disablement allowance benefits. chain smoking is also a great my of keeping one mouth shut whilst intermittingly excercising my lungs. Deb @ voluntary income taxpayer.

  • Can´t be better

  • @styrtvejr agreed...

  • Take note BBC....... German TV & France TV did not wipe or mislay these inimiable TV performances. Danke Musikladen. Sehr Sehr gut.

  • Too right, did you hear the story about some early (early) Bowie tapes ('67-'68) were "wiped to make room for other recordings". God willing someone was recording in the world at that time. Now they make a fortune off of Bowie's stuff they saved because he was already Ziggy and that was selling. Jackasses.

  • Nice post. TX

  • In words of Simon LeBon: "Brian Eno is the Jimi Hendrix of synthetizer". I agree.

  • wow, the quality of this video is amazing for 1972!

  • An excellent rendition of a fab song...

  • The greatness of this is unbearable. Thanks for posting.

  • i understand that EG approached Eno and told him, "we think that you are ready for a solo career"

    classic

lucky for us. Eno's solo albums are way super cool. bottom line: Roxy is great with Eno and Roxy is great with Edwin

  • I disagree. Roxy was great with Eno. Roxy was good after he left.

  • no worries. i'm an ENO fan. i love him in ROXY and i love his solo stuff too. w/o a doubt, ROXY was an entirely different creature with ENO :)

  • this is actually 1973, may. abotu two months before eno was frozen out for good.

  • At the end, the audience begins clapping and chanting, before Ferry is done. Strange...

  • Haha indeed. He looks a bit shocked.

  • the Bryan/Brian dynamic endlessly fascinates me

"Baby Jane's in Acapulco... We are flyin' down to Rio..."

  • Throw me a line!... I´m sinking fast!!!...

  • haha - totally - you should check out their version of remake/remodel from this same show (earlier in the set, before the costume change!) - during his solo he does this flashy little hand gesture on the piano that blows my mind every time

  • Where can I find that video?

  • good eno,good manzanera,masterclass ferry!!

  • phil manzanera yeah!! good guitar!!!

  • I TOTALLY AGREE!
