@gmxgamer okay so #1- please please please learn to spell and use full words. #2, there are always two sides to any situation depending on how you look at it. how did you educate yourself on what you call the "illuminati" anyway?
To do away with national barriers and greed ha ha ha i'm from britian thats funny. It called the new world order without national barrier and total greed.
I love how the one with Hans Zimmer's "Time" sounds inspiring and makes me want to go out to join the occupiers in solidarity, this one sounds like we are angry and ready to fight. The music fits the mood in a different way, that we're angry and ready to take back what is ours through civil disobedience and resistance. I almost like this better than the "Time" version haha.
He's playing a simple Jewish barber who, by coincidence, has that tash. (Obviously, it isn't coincidence; it's a deliberate literal device) This barber was mistaken for Hitler, who is predisposed (I forget how)
I really love the Inception soundtrack the most (some versions better than others), but I have to admit that the timing of this ending makes your version much more somber and anti-climactic. Fantastic job on the mix.
I must say.. this is the greatest thing I have ever encountered on Youtube, and I watch a lot of Youtube; more than I care to admit. Cutting out the crowd's applause was such a brilliant decision. It sort of conveys a different message from the original speech, though. It's somewhat of an inner monologue now, and by the end of his final belt, Chaplin suddenly realizes the desolation in his ambition. It's powerful stuff.. great job.
Really enjoyed this. I've been doing alot of research on the Occupy Wall St. movement and I'd have to say that this speech *still* makes a good rallying point for people's rights.
It's interesting how this music, as opposed to the Inception music, totally changes the tone of the speech. They're very different takes on the same words.
Everyday I listen to this & I am amazed that the speech is decades old & yet it is so timeless. In the House in a Heartbeat, gives it such a modern quality.
I have just downloaded this and put it on my ipod :D.. They should release this on itunes and put all the money towards A.I or red cross or something. Its breathtakingly powerful.
this is soo true this was made soo long ago and it seems hes talking about the future we having machines that will kill for us in war we all use our knowledge to kill and not to save others well not so much and we are run by the government they tell us what to do what we have to think in life and what to feel we have the power to save our world we just dont choose too...
But one day he was captured, but then released, because they thought that the common man was Hitler, and Hitler was taken for him... The classic komedy plot. And then this common man held this speach, pretending he was Hitler. Great moovie, both funne and sad. 2/2
Chaplin was making this moovie about Hitler and the second world war. If i remeber right, this moovie was also about a common man, that looked exactely like Hitler (both caracters playd by Chapling, of course :)) This man (and Chaplin in real) was not happy about Hilters way of doing things at all. 1/2
@Skuimpie well this movie is a comedy film by Charlie Chaplin. He made this film and this is his first sound film instead of the silent one. It's a nice movie. You should download it and watch it. I watched this vid yesterday and first thing that came in my mind is 'wow..this vid looks good, the movie might be good' so i downloaded and watched it. It's really good.
Somehow, I think this shows how timeless Charlie Chaplin is that "The Great Dictator" goes so well with this modern music (from an awesome soundtrack).
At the end of the video I just held my cigarette in my hand and stared at the black screen in owe. For once in a billion years, OP was not a faggot. OP was a man who opened our ears to the most beautiful and inspirational speech that has ever existed and that will ever exist on the face of the earth. And you leave me with only one thought in my mind. ALL HEIL CHARLIE CHAPLIN! HEIL! HEIL! HEIL!
