Wow it must be really nice to have a bucket to clear the way first. Haha, I have to go through so much brush and branches that hit my face and my arms just to bush hog.
It's really handy to knock down the big stuff, but only the first time through. I now mow that area with a common lawn mower and the grass is never higher than the tops of my shoes. There are two picnic tables near those trees that I circled.
if your really looking for tractor advice never ever drive forward in to unknown heavy brush......back the tractor bushhog first.........cheaper to replace a bushog than a tractor.
@neo76able I agree with you there. I have a John Deere 790 with bush hog and will back it up into strange areas before driving into areas I am not sure of. If the bush hog hits something which can damage it the shear pin will break, but not my tractor. I have land like that myself and I know that there are items there which I don't want to run that tractor over. I would rather run one of my trucks through an area like that blindly before doing it with the Deere.
It is rated at 32 crankshaft horsepower, 28 horsepower at the PTO. That is a 5' brush cutter. To be fair, most of what I cut that day was soft body weeds and not woody plants. But it will cut anything the size of your wrist or smaller without breaking a sweat. Makes a lot of noise when you run over trees but still chops them up.
thanks for telling me. how long do you own that tractor has it ever had problems and are parts hard to acquire for it.I am looking to buy a tractor and any advice you could give me i would greatly appreciate it. i have a 5 acre lot and what would you recommend?
That little tractor continues to surprise me with its toughness and durability. It took a few passes with the big cutter to chop up all the big stuff, but I now mow that area with a standard lawnmower. There is now a picnic table where the tractor entered the brush.

I don't recall asking for any advice, but thanks anyway. Not exactly unknown territory, it's my own land. It just hadn't been mowed in a few years.
