That would vary based how how much free time you have. In the eBay consignment store we look for items of $40 or more. In you are doing it yourself, I would recommend $28 or more. You should also consider the difficulty in shipping an item. If you can drop in in the mail with no time spent on packing you can go lower on the average price.
You can add "new", "used", or "p&r" to narrow your search to only those types of items. You can also see the full description of any auction that it found within the last 90 days. This helps you to see why any particular item did very well, or very poor.
Ive done research on Ebay, and unless you have whatever is HOT at the time, selling is a gamble. Prices are all over the board, and just because one person gets a hundred for one item, doesnt mean you will get a hundred for yours, and vice versa.

@PickersInc11 And you use a program that costs a minimum of 250.00 a year! Wow, and your worried about Ebay fees? LOL I find that sometimes research helps to an extent, but ive sold items that ive researched and had no bids , yet mine sold, and ive researched and seen items go for good money, yet my item didnt sell worth squat. As for search, it all depends on how people enter their search ,their financial situation, need, and how many is listed at the time, which can vary day to day. peace!
books are good to have...its gives a ballpark idea whats stuffs worth. Also nice to read when relaxing away from a monitor. Collector books can be gotten cheap usually. I base value on about 50 to 75 percent of what book value says. Auction prices and collector books don;t always reflect real prices. I like that software you use

When showing average sale price, is that counting both new and used? How about broken or for parts of that particular item?

Using the software, do you have a minimum-average selling price an item would have to go for to make it worth your while? (Great video by the way!!!)
