  • Just for the record, those union wage increases depend solely on the workers ability to do his job accordingly in the field. That is determined by monthly work reports. If he/she is a good worker, learning his trade and producing quality work he gets a raise, if he is a slouch, he gets a pink slip and no raise.

I am Union (Ibew Local 80), by no means a communist, or a slouch. I will continue to demand that I get just compensation for my hard work. No private contractor is going to stiff me.

  • one fucking fascist is on the wrong side.

  • 1 dislike, obviously of another stupid rich man

  • awesome tune I love the lyrics and Unions freaking rock....

  • @tacobill70, oh yes it does.

  • I'm from Wisconsin and was part of the protests, even speaking over the megaphone in the middle of our capitol building and participating in the drum circle keeping time for the chants. I just heard that DKM had been there and I'm just really pissed that I missed them.

  • Union YES!!! Stand behind Wisconsin!

  • Keep Fighting Wisconsin!!

  • Article 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights identifies the ability to organise trade unions as a fundamental human right.

To ignore these rights dangerously borders on imperialism, and threatens the safety and security of democracy

"government of the people, by the people, for the people"

    Proud to be local 225

  • IBEW local #6 - lest we forget.

The Union won your wage, your 5 day week, your safe workplace, and your health care plan. Working people unite or die.

  • @jkdarrow

IBEW Local #375 member 100% behind you.

  • WILL YOU BE A LOUSY SCAB OR WILL YOU BE A MAN???? fuckin a right bro!

  • I hope they do a Billy Bragg version (with some slight Americanized changes) someday:

"This government had an idea // And [Republicans] made it law

It seems like it's illegal // To fight for the union any more

    ...

I'm bound to follow my conscience // And do whatever I can

But it'll take much more than the union law

To knock the fight out of a working man..."

  • how many indians died for your fake cemocracy?

how many slaves died for your fake nation?

  • @paganpoet3 the irish didnt enslave. we wer slaves are selves. 800 years and still fighting for our freedom but no one ever tried to help us. god ur a fucking dick

  • iradan64: That's a tremendous simplification. Some Irish, mostly wealthy and Anglican, did own slaves, just as some aided the English in colonialism. The timeline of Colonization is between 800-400 years, depending on when you start the clock. The colonialism currently in Ulster is much less severe than in ages past. Also, the Irish were helped, by the French, Germans, Americans, Libyans, and others, at various times. We've had it rough, but let's not simplify things.

  • @Crawdaddy you have had it rough, yet now you have turned your back on eire, america were called terrorists when they tried to gain ther independence from brtain. now the irish do it and all america can do is call us terrorists and condemn are cause and ther wer slave owners in ireland bu they were NOT irish they were scottish and english who lived in the stolen land

  • @iradan64

By no means have I turned my back on Ireland. I act as a host for the Children's Program for Northern Ireland. I hold no illusions, but maintain that all who use fear and violence to enforce their ideas are terrorists- doubly so for States and governments. As for the slave owners, I was referring to Irish slaveholders in America, and detailed that the majority of these slave owners were scots-Irish or Anglican.

  • @CrawdaddyJoe we tried a peaceful method of getting a nuited ireland for many years and it failed so did the americans in the end we always have to resort to violenc its the only wy to make people listen if your experience your family being cut down by UDA death squads and jailed without trial by the RUC and now PSNI you would use violence are cause and the violence is just if you are adminet that we are terrorists then fine im a terrorist but to the people of ireland we are freedom fighters

  • At any rate, I'm pretty sure he was talking about America, not the Irish.

  • AH...16 year old american totally ingnorant kid...another dude that things he ll die a millionare...

  • Both of those places used communist rhetoric to build authoritarian regimes. Neither were remotely authentic attempts at communism.

  • Sorry it has taken so long to get back however I have to say that every country that has tried to adopt communism has done so by violent means (Khmar Rouge, Cuba, North Korea) just to name a few and the fact that in the Communist Manifesto it actually says that there must be a violent overturn of the bourgeoisie class all attests to that fact that Communism is violent and flawed

  • I'd give that a B. If this were 9th grade comp. Drop me a line when you learn how to think

  • @StrikeEagle84015...YES...AND U.S.A IS SPREADING DEMOCRACY WITH PEACEFULL MEANS AND THE WORLD IS A DEMOCRATIC PARADISE...HOW OLD R U? 8?

  • @StrikeEagle84015

There isn't any other way except of revolution (which means violence). All the regimes from ancient history until now have brought down by a riot (=violence). So don't talk bullshits.

  • @BellaCiao: To be fair, nonviolent revolutions have occurred. A completely nonviolent revolution to overthrow a power structure as entrenched as capitalism, however, may be less likely. However, it is still being tried. The Zapatistas are running a Marxist/integrated leftist revolution using civil resistance right now.

  • @CrawdaddyJoe: Is Zapatistas a non-violent movement? What are you talking about?

Also, every communist/anarchist/leftist knows that riot (=violence) is the only to BRING DOWN a status quo. Not the only way to protest. As you say, "leftists (especially anarchists) were pioneers in civil resistance, especially the strike and nonviolent protest."

But both Marx and Bakunin acknowledge that we should unite and use violence to explode capitalism, like Zapatistas etc. did.

Also, every communist/anarchist/leftist knows that riot (violence) is unavoidable to EXPLODE any system. Not the only way of protesting. As you said: "leftists (especially anarchists) were pioneers in civil resistance, especially the strike and nonviolent protest."

  • Violence was used in the USA and in France to usher in democracy, too. We celebrate that violence here in the States ever fourth of July. Your argument is deeply, deeply flawed.

  • @ StrikeEagle: That argument assumes that anything brought about by violence is flawed, which would imply that democracy and democratic republicanism is flawed, as well. Also, you've ignored a number of nonviolent leftist movements, including communist ones. For example, the widespread Tolstoyan Communes, and the Zapatistas. Also, leftists (especially anarchists) were pioneers in civil resistance, especially the strike and nonviolent protest.

  • Fuck off scab

  • Those places were Bolshevist, not Communist. Communism doesn't use a vanguard party. Bolshevism, especially Stalinism, is a perversion of communism. It creates a new class structure by abolishing the democratic worker's councils and placing the productive property and political power both in the hands of the State. It is corporatism in the name of communism. Many leftists fought it tooth and nail.

I'm not a communist, but get your facts straight.

  • Working class and proud, Workers power is the only way, Anarchism is workers' power!

  • Side by side with the workers !!! Viva Communism !!!

  • it's great to hear pro-worker songs like this...long live labor unions!

  • @jazzaspirin Damn straight comrade.

  • @roastbeefdinner labor unions are the only thing keeping the working class from becoming impoverished. why should a worker take a 2 year wage freeze? in 2002, the governor of CT gave himself a raise that nearly doubled his salary from $78K to $150K. How can an elected civil servant expect his constituents to live with less if he refuses too. by the way, the salary is still $150K.

Keep in mine he did this shortly after 9/11, while the working class was still struggling to survive

  • @roastbeefdinner and why should they allow healthcare changes when the governor didn't take one? As far as 401K vs. pension, any smart person would take a pension given a choice.

  • trade unions protect us

  • yeah guys unions suck....i meen think about who really wants to be treated fairly and equally, and get better wages and benefits for you and the family....i meen thats terrible...think people....think

  • damn straight your abousolutly right.

  • GREAT!

  • "Which side are you on ?" the only good question ! A scab or a man ? workers are fighting for their rights ! fighting for communsim !

  • Excellent, I'm glad you're prepared, or as prepared as one can get to join the military. I'm a damage controlman myself. I wish you the best. Fair winds my boy.

  • Its not a bad gig, but don't let your recruiter screw you over, if you're serious about joining, send me a message. Between my recruiter mistakes and that my LPO (kind of like a manager) just got back from recruiting duty I can tell you what to ask for, what they can and can't do, etc., etc. That's the dirtiest part is the getting in. After that its smooth sailing (sort of, for most, lol).

  • My dad was a CPO and i was in the marine cadets, as a kid, with guys who are serving. I've taken advice and im now deciding which branch i'm gonna join. Either heli or weapons tech so far.

  • Ex Union man, now in the Navy, but will return to my beloved UBC

  • I'm about to go the same way. My job's in the balance and the navy has never been far from my mind since i was a kid

  • Dropkick Murphy's side!!
