That alligator is a good singer, and this skit teaches very well about brushing and flossing everyday. I remember when I was very young, and watched this skit, I used to be afraid at the very end of the skit when the alligator opened his mouth very wide for the dentist. Whenever this skit came on, I used to cover my eyes and never looked at the television screen until the skit ended.
This is great even the humor of the visual of the orchestra playing is even something that adults can understand. In a way, it is reminescent of a scene in the 1974 staire western movie Blazing Sattles. It was the first cartoon i watched on Sesame Street that taught me about brushing and flawsing and why it is good for your teeth and your mouth.
Hey, I'm crazy about "Blazing Saddles", but I don't know what scene you're referring to. Care to enlighten me?
For the record, I found the final shot a bit scary when I was younger. The alligator stretching his mouth open real wide and it turning kind of black inside.
The scene in "Blazing Saddles" being referred to is when Bart is heading for Rock Ridge and we hear big band music, and he passes the Count Basie orchestra in the middle of the desert.
I always found it funny when (about 42 seconds in) the singer walks into the dentist waiting room singing his song, and the others in the room look at him, all startled and annoyed. :>
I remember this, and for a while I thought Richard Hunt was doing the voice of the alligator, but I don't think it was him (think the voice he used for both Placido Flamingo and Wayne)...
i think this was the reason i have a habbit of brushing my teeth XDDD.i used to love this as a kid lol

Actually that might have been him because the Alligator sounds a little like Placideo Flamingo.
