  • hey guys and gals wear a good dust mask, theres solid evidence out there to link aluminium dust with all sorts of nasty diseases , including alzheimers. think on people

  • put on some safety gloves please!!!

  • Great vid my friend!......Im dreading doing my frame on my 2001 GSXR 1000....EVERTHING including the swingarm I had triple chrome plated all the way down to calipers and other small parts. Im such a perfectionist in the work that I do I know Ill keep comparing it to the chrome! Really doesnt matter too much..at night or from 5 feet away your average person wouldnt even notice the difference...but I will! LOL

  • where you buy buffer?

  • looks great, on my set-up , on one side of the machine i have a fine wire wheel. that does all the sanding for me, then i use a sprial stiched wheel on the other side and generally use green compound. no elbow work at all, i just let then machine do the work.

  • @yfsblasterman if it's aluminium it won't

  • I like the video. No gloves, no stupid ass lecture on safety, just turn on the machine and show you what to do. Thanks!

  • Can it rust after you do that ?

  • Can you buff out deez nuts?

  • what kind of well is that? on machine i mean?

  • @Ranametalera it's a Harbor Freight polisher/grinder

  • lol where is the ploish compond ??????

  • @OzzyDave6969 ploish compond?? What's that?

  • just a question where would I be able to pick up a block of tripoli compound looked for it at lowes, home depot, and auto stores cant find it please help me out

  • @richconklin1

I get mine at the Harbor Freight store in town. Google "buffing compound" and go to Caswell plating's website. I know they sell it on line, and they also have a forum dedicated to buffing and polishing .

  • No compound?

  • @GSRJosh33 he applied it earlier.... if you look at the wheel, its brown on the bottom which means its already saturated.

  • That's was pretty kool.....

  • what compound did you use on the wheel?

  • @robbiebobbie111 looks like brown tripoli compound to me.

  • @robbiebobbie111

For the final polish I usually use the white compound. That's what I was using here. If you're doing steel I think you would use the brown, then the white. It's been a while since I did any buffing and it was always on aluminum. I'm not an expert though, so you might want to check out caswell plating buffing and polishing forum. LOTS of great info there!

  • pushing too hard... if the wheel slows down its too much pressure... also keep the wheel flat on the curved edges... polishes better that way.

    not bad otherwise.

  • awesome

  • try wet sanding with warm soapy water

dish soap, it will wash the crap away from the material, instead of sanding it into the product, and your buffing wheel is to fast

highly polished aliuminum will look better than chrome, keep polishing
