NoFX is awesome; their different from any band out there. They are one of the most diverse bands I know. It's high energy filled music. Most music died sometime in the late 80's, and at least Nofx is still music. There's very few good bands out there nowadays, and Nofx is one of them. Good bands nowadays... hmmm.... Green Day, Tenacious D (only their good songs), System of a Down, Seether, Dixie Chicks, OLP, Chili Peppers, Rammstein, Sarah McLachlan... and not many more.

NOFX are good, (though somewhat inconsistent inconsistent, especially in their newer stuff) and that's the best that can be said about the best of those artists you listed as well (namely RHCP). Lots of good music out there if you know where to look, but none of those artists would be anywhere near the top of my list.

None of them are near the top of my list either, I'm just saying we don't have much nowadays for good music. The top of my list would include Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, CCR, Queen, Iron Maiden, Ozzy/Sabbath, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Pavarotti, etc. Todays music just can't be compared to the music back in the days.
