I dont mean to be an asshole but i cant understand how people loved this album so much...After the eerie cold this band has nothing to offer.Same patterns and even the riffs are alike some older songs.

This lacks the attitude and atmosphere of the earlier albums, I'm a pretty upbeat person and the old songs like "Endless solitude" or "black industrial misery" could bring me down into real self loathing and deep thought, all I thought hearing this is, "shit what the fuck happened to shining, this fucking sucks."

It is true that this atmosphere "loud rock then soft guitar" sounds better on Yttligare Ett Steg Närmare Total Jävla Utfrysning from Halmstad. This album is much more mainstream...but for once, mainstream will listen to something interesting

Kvarforth said that many fans are going to hate this album. But he also said this was the true successor to Halmstad since he wrote the entire thing himself. So I guess we'll see what happens.

And as for all the people jumping off the bandwagon after hearing one song, you were never true fans anyways go be KVLT jack offs somewhere else

every artist has to make a progress from album to album, otherwise it's not an artist! bands who repeat the same over and over again, are stuck or trapped in a certain style. a true artist can progress, finds new stuff to enhance, but still it has the feeling of what makes you think "yes, this is definitely that band!". SHINING are definitely like that, it's still SHINING, through and through, and Kvarforth is a true artist!

This guy betrays his own mind everyday since the last 10 months. How deep people sink. Yeah, sure Shining is great band and Nik is also a really talented musician. But what does he said the last years. He don't wanted that every idiot listen to his music. I listened to 4 songs of VII and I think its nothing special, the real masterpiece of him was the Halmstad Album. But new release is only a better copy of Klagopsalmer. And don't say I'm wrong, I follow this band since 2002.

This is discordant, over-produced, rock music with a scrap or few from Halmstad added in. This is only depressive black metal because it's dreadfully bad. Claiming it's their darkest album yet, on MySpace? Judging by the american teenager comments about this song this band's already gone to the dogs:

"LOL", "Pure FUCKING EPICNESS!!", "HAILZ".

This is their weakest attempt yet with these insubstantial guitars and the drums sound like they're stock samples from EZDrummer. Such a shame.

man, that beginning sends chills down my spine

but this song fuckin rules! the solo rules, and theres a cool blend of their new and old styles. plus 3:56, its cool how hes doing some clean singing as well instead of his usual creepy thing (not that it didnt rule, cuz it did, but its cool to see a change). awesome song!

At first, I thought that it only sounded generic, Shining 101. Then I realized that while it does indeed sound like Shining, it does so in a fucking good way. This isn't Shining 101, this is Shining perfecting their essence. Also, the first part of the solo ( 5:25 ) is absolutely haunting.
