Johnny is the best, but this is Stylistics all the way. I remember driving in downtown Dallas with my mom on a rainy day in the 70's and hearing the Stylistics play this!
@P03TICS0UL91 Yes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles did do it as the video is on YouTube. However, if my memory serves me correctly, stillgotit got it right as the Sylistics made it famous.
This is from the 1972 "The First Time I ever saw your face" album that's one of my favorite tracks on that record. My mother has that album on vinyl and it plays like a dream

This song was written in 1970 by Linda Creed and Thom Bell. It was a big hit for The Stylistics in 1971.
