  • to all appose to the death penality should ask themselves 1 question what if it was your loved 1 that was the victim of a horribal and painful death would you want justice.would you believe in an eye for an eye or wouold you be contempt with the murdererof your loved 1 sitting in jail for the rest of his life with a chance of perole becuase he became a model inmate. you dont get the death penalty for mansluaghter you get for being a cold blooded murderer and thats how it should be.

  • Phenomenal acting. Just incredible . . .

  • This is some A+ acting.. I tell ya h'what.

  • We are all capable of acting upon evil. It's in us all. And so, how can you say that a systematical killing, distorted by proposed "righteousness", "state affairs" and "law" is fair and correct? Who is really the evil party? I think we all know who the hypocrites are. It's a fatal contradiction.

  • Personally I disagree with executions. It's very simple minded and thoughtless to say that they are just and correct. I believe that the people who believe this system is fair are not thinking about anything else but a simple math equation: man kills - he must pay for it. It is incredibly subjective. I think the people who stick by the law and its systems, to the point where they are actively defending it, are pretty fucked in the head and really misguided.

  • Do they really use alcohol wipes before inserting the needle? Are they worried about infections?

  • Love how that useless animal is worried about feeling pain when hes executed, I wonder if he gave his victim that option, imagine all the pain he/she felt as he was killing them. They should blow his arms and legs off with a 12 gauge shotgun and let him bleed out as far as im concerned, its the least they could do for the victim and family as far as im concerned. GO CAPITAL PUNISHMENT!!!

  • Funny that. People are always miserable when they're going to meet Jesus. He must be one depressing guy...

  • @GhanemFamily Not really. Killing them solves nothing, it doesnt bring the dead person back and it just means you are stooping to their level if you kill them. Even if they are guilty, (which there is no guarantee they are), it doesnt give us the right to play god and take their lives. Like I said, that just makes us murderers as well. Watch "Let him have it" and then say that its fair.

  • If you kill, you should be killed... thats just how it should be!

  • Where's the flashbacks, u ass?

  • 7 ppl must like torture

  • why all this jackass shot him in the dead

  • fuck the death penalty its not fair

an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind

  • @246alive lol eye for eye is 100% fair, debatable how efficient it is

  • @246alive The death penalty is a valid tool in the defense of the innocent. When there is an evil that can't be fixed (Pedophilia, serial rapists, cold blooded murder, etc.) the death penalty is fair and just. Keep in mind that giving someone the death penalty is not judging them; God will do that. The death penalty is a valid self defense tool for those who can't defend themselves. God allows the killing of man when that killing removes an evil from this world that would otherwise plague it.

  • @246alive I wonder if you'd feel the same way if someone came to your home and raped, murdered, molested, your mother, grandmother, daughter, son, father, brother, etc. Yes we are to love one another; but that doesn't mean we are to allow someone to do whatever they want with no consequences. It's bleeding hearts like you that have this system so screwed up. People take the law into their own hands because the law, in most cases, wont remove the threat.

  • @molson421 okay, so you're going to say that killing a man is a good penance for killing someone. as gahndi said, an eye for an eye leaves the world blind, they shouldve let this man rot in jail.

  • @molson421 i hit u up fat biatch

  • At least he was rockin a mean haircut.

  • whats the name of the music during the executions ?

  • America should abolish this. I'm a Christian and I believe only God should take life. I know that guy killed someone but it doesn't mean we can kill him.

  • @samh1888 I'm Chrisian too, but if a man broke into my houe and killed my daughter, I wouldnt think twice to shoot and kill that guy

  • getting shot is less tourtures a person is a person not to be toyed with

  • 5:01 GOOD THEY ARE ON DEATH ROW FOR A FUCKIN REASON IT SHOULD BE PAINFUL

  • @SamuelSavage777 What if theyve been wrongly accused?

  • Scott Glen the guy who played Jodie Foster's boss in "Silence of the lambs" was staunchley against the death penalty but to research his role as "Jack Crawford" the FBI allowed him to review similar cases in their files. After studying them and seeing the horrifying pictures he changed his mind and now supports the death penalty. he got a good hard look at reality.

  • it's one of the most touching and definately the most heartwrenching movies ever!

always keep in mind - human being is always human being regardless of any circumstances

  • Gruesome revenge killers, the Yanks.

  • @Wingalaxi

    agreed

  • @Wingalaxi hell yeah

  • @mdtwiztid Yeah. Hell.

  • @Wingalaxi Revenge killing? No.Its called being responsible for the safety of others. You dont kill a rabid dog out of revenge you do it so it cant harm anybody. To many people get out of prison and go right back to killing or raping because bleeding hearts cant make a tough decision on whom to protect.Id rather see a rapist or murderer executed then have another family go through what the Lunsfords went through.

  • @agoddamnsexfiend It's a very difficult point indeed. But anger and revenge is undoubtedly a large part of it, which they try to hide by making it all very clinical. The US justice system in some ways resembles that of totalitarian states. However, murder in the US is frequently for some reason quite exceptionally horrible - enough to infuriate anyone, once the shock has worn off.

  • Well shooting people is more Humane than the Electric Chair..

  • Why would anyone ever come to watch someone die?

  • I think it's stupid how America still believes in the death penalty but it is America for you.

  • @evilfangs So you don't think someone should die after massacring dozens of people? Only European countries ban the death penalty, i guess they like paying to support mass murders on tax payer money with food and shealter. All the time the victims know they he could escape and not be punished.

  • @XxxSakura101 What makes you any different from being a guy like him who murders someone in cold blood? You are still murdering a human being, if all you care about is some paper money over another human live ( no matter how evil that person is ) then you need to take a step back and sort you live out.

  • @evilfangs Law, social acceptability, and judgment of your peers is the difference. All human behavior, good or bad, i dependant on the social acceptance in Society. This is why rape is considered bad in our society, but in Sparta it was thought of as romantic and a test of manhood. Society has judged that killing without the consent of the public is unacceptable ie murder, while killing an enemy combatant in battle, or the lawful killing of a condemned criminal is acceptable.

  • @evilfangs It's the difference between murder, and killing. It is all derived from a social understanding, like everything. For example, insulting 310 million people just because you do things differently in your country, is considered excessively rude here, and shows a poor quality of character, and a lack of understanding of other cultures to me. However you might just view it as amusing.

  • @evilfangs Because that is just how your culture operates.

  • @XxxSakura101 Your reply had nothing to do with my reply, lets face the facts, when someone murders someone the USA are happy to go ahead and murder him back because the law say's it's ok.

  • @evilfangs Actually my response addressed your question, "What is the difference between a murdering, and the person who "murders him". I told you, explained it, and yet you persist with your assumptions. I think you have a lot to learn about how life operates.

  • @evilfangs I'm primary concurred as to why you single out the US, the US is but one of the majority of countries (Europeans, or former Euro colonies are mostly the ones who have abolished the practice) Japan, India, China, Brazil, and the US are just a few of the countries who still have laws allowing the death penalty, a practice that is used with the majority of countries in the world.

  • @evilfangs Mostly because you can'to have th death penalty, and be a member of the EU. And since the EU opened up significant economic and political opinions for countries, many got swayed.

  • song ID?

  • Maybe it's because I'm not in the situation, but I could never watch another person be killed right in front of me regardless of whatever horrible crimes they have committed. Simply knowing the person who has intentionally harmed a loved one (or anyone else for that manner) is gone is enough for me.

Since its in discussion, I am believing in the death penalty less and less. It costs more to kill someone anyway, so just let them make their own decision- life in jail or death?

  • I would have bought some of these props and kept them in a locked storage cupboard in my room. Then no one will want to mess with me...

  • @andrtaker

It is revenge in one way. But they are killers, murderers. You want the people to feed them, to spend a lot of money on them. And some times, to be frightened by them, cause they can escape, they can kill again. So therefore you want to give them the chance to kill again, and let them poison the hole societi?

  • @andrtaker I have lost family actually, drunk drivers, random killings, and yes you do want them to die, doesn't mean its right, murder begets murder, but lethal injection, gas chamber, electric chair, those methods are just as terrible, even worse is when they allow people to view it, make a sport of it, becasue its not justice, it's revenge, which sullies the whole point in my opinion, these methods turn criminals into the victims, and sponsor a regime of revenge killing, sickening

  • They deserve it. An eye for an eye dont you think?

  • @Baylorchick20 by that reckoning everyone who does anything to harm you in any way is liable, for instance if your comment here causes me emotional distress an eye for an eye allows me to cause you distress, eye for an eye is way for people to get revenge and justify it by god,but since the consensus among the law is that god has no control over the law, that ruling is out, its then just plain revenge punishable by the law, eye for an eye leaves everyone blind

  • @Baylorchick20

Quoting the bible without understanding the context but still applying to a process which you have no idea whatsoever about. The last refuge of the ignorant airhead Christian.

  • @custardaghost Im not a Christian dude just spiritual still believe in an eye for an eye u never understand until someone u love is violently taken away from u

  • Emotionally wrenching film making. My heart goes out to the victims and their families and to the murderer's family, too. I deeply admire Sister Helen for her convictions. This is film at its most powerful. Sean Penn has never given a greater performance. Our lives are changed by horrible events and it is hoped that somehow we are given the grace to go on with our lives in the shadow of tragedy and incomprehensible acts of deliberate cruelty.

  • why are they playing Arabic music at the murder scene

  • 1.) Why do they cleanse the arm when they are going to give a LETHAL injection?

2.) How many different liquids are put in him, & WHY so many liquids?

  • @stevenscottoddballz 1. They cleanse it for 2 reasons, the first is to mainly avoid any bacteria entering the point of the shot, and the second is to give a better access point for the shot, so there's no obstruction.

    2. Theres usually only 2 compounds used. One numbs the pain and puts them to sleep, the other is lethal,

  • @Harold441 Thank you VERY much for answering, & making these points (no pun intended) clearer!

  • @stevenscottoddballz The first one is an anasthetic to make him unconcious The second causes paralysis, the third causes cardiac arrest

  • @nmuniz86

Thank you very much. I appreciate the response. THAT part is more clear.

  • In the title for this vid you accidentally made a typo

  • Workman has been dead for 4 years now

  • I'm for capital punishment and i didnt feel the least bit sad during this scene he raped a girl and murder and boy, he deserved it

  • I think there should be a world wide ban on capital punishment

  • @DamonSalvatore32 why? so that murderers can spend their lives watching tv all day at tax payers expense? how would you feel if someone killed someone close to you?

  • @Kane16802 Well it cost about $400,000 to kill them too sooo....

  • @Kane16802 taxpayers sepnd more money trying to get through years of apppeals than they do to lock somebody up for life.

  • .308 to the head.

    Quick and painless.

  • @Apoc897 Yeah, I'd much rather take a firing squad. Besides isn't it cheaper to just load a gun then Boom instead of buying all these drug cocktails? That's one BIG ASS needle they put in his arm.

  • @Apoc897 Last time I checked, .308s were 5 bucks a pack.

  • Lol if I weren't on my iPod I'd like ur comment below :L fallout NV FtW!

  • one bullet to the skull. quick, cheap, effective, painless. (unless your a courier of course)

  • @albertjester Rope is even cheaper. Athouth, I don't even think we should have the death penalty.

  • @flyersphan111 yeah but if you get the length and such wrong with a rope then they choke to death as apposed to a painless snap. it's very hard to get a bullet wrong. and personaly i WISH we had the death penalty in my country. i wouldnt if life ment life but in britain, life can mean under ten years.

  • @albertjester I don't. Regardless of the crime, I don't think that it's civil to kill someone else, even if that person killed someone else. They should be locked in solitary confienment until they go crazy. Just my opinion. May not make sense, but whatever...

  • @flyersphan111 i completly agree but the problem is that when they get the life sentance, all it takes is mock repentance and good behavior or influentual/rich freinds/family to get them out again in minimal time. death doesnt have a parol so it's the only absolute form of justice availible until they make a judge's decision final.

  • @albertjester I think that anyone that kills anyone shouldn't be aloud to have parole, Regardless of whether it's first degree, second degree, or manslaughter.

  • @flyersphan111 what if it was accidental?

  • @Kane16802 "regardless of whether it's first degree, second degree, OR MANSLAUGHTER

  • @flyersphan111 ok so i am with a friend and he falls and breaks his neck and he dies and it was no fault of my own nor could i have anticipated or stopped it, i should stay in prison for the rest of my life?

  • @Kane16802 No, because you didn't kill him.

  • @flyersphan111 you just said "or manslaughter"

  • @Kane16802 Manslaughter would be if someone was driving drunk and they hit and killed someone. In your scinerio, the guy just fell and broke his neck.

  • @flyersphan111 i know what it is, it's just that's the way you perceived it when i said accidental

  • Oh ok i Now watched the End of the Videos News scene, And nvm i gues it ant Potassium Chloride and Might be Potassium Cyanide Seance they Said the Guy "Consciously" - Suffocates you. The other Chemicals might be a Narcotic.

  • @Second2Rush No no, it is potassium chloride. The other two chemicals are sodium thiopental, which induces unconsciousness in the prisoner, and pancuronium bromide which stops all muscular and respiratory functions.

  • @MobilePissCannon

Soo... this is Why most Prisoners Feel before Unconsciousness, A Slip of Respiratory "Failure" And everything elies that Happens during this Procedure? Cause i was Wondering if the Justice System has Ultimate control over the Prisons and yet they make us Pay Taxes on these Chemicals to use, Eathur as most Noobs would say to use Bullets or a Shotgun shell to the Head

But no1 is man Enough to get a bit of Blood, Why cant they Just use "Morphine and Aconite"??

  • Best movie ever...deep, real deep

  • just shoot his ass in the head, bullets are a hundred times cheaper than all those chemicals they use

  • @20PhantomRegiment09 they want it painless i think

  • @20PhantomRegiment09 Or just Use Drain Cleaner, Its slow Painfull Sort fast tho, Still much more cheaper then Bullets are and The chemicals they use like... Potassium Chloride, n' Others.

  • die hippie smoker

  • why do they rube alcohol on his vain

  • @hughex16 They dont want him to get an infection ^_^

Funny thing, back WW2 nazi were using the same precautions be4 injecting phenol into ppl heart while experimenting cheaper and fast ways to kill ppl.

  • nice vid

  • Very nice video. I remember seeing this movie, and the news report adds some light to it too. One problem though. Although it was based off different people the sister had helped, Matthew Poncelet himself never existed. Matthew Poncelet, was based on an amalgam of both Sonnier and Robert Lee Willie, other inmates for whom Sister Helen Prejean was spiritual advisor.
