  • BOC!

  • VANITY'S A DEADLY SIN...IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD FOR BOC TO SURVIVE THE HORRIBLE "DISCO ERA"-BUT THEY HAD ENOUGH CLASS TO SPARE...AM I RIGHT?

  • I am 42 and I have liked BOC since hearing 'dont fear....' on the radio in the UK 1977/78. Totally underrated band ....along with The Tubes

  • @stoneddude11..did u go to many shows at freedom hall?we would go there and rupp arena and charlstown w.va. mostly cause they were closest venues back in the day.now we have the eastky expo ctr. in pikeville ky and the arena at corbin ky..also the mountain arts ctr. in prestonsburg ky,saw the nuge at the mac last yr.

  • @MrJailbird32 Used to go to Roanoke, Freedom Hall, and Charleston Civic center, lived in Princeton WV back in the day. Seen AC/DC Back in Black tour at Freedom hall in 80, Alice Cooper Flush the Fashion tour, Peter Frampton, are a few other that comes to mind. Just wished the ticket prices were the same now as then. Live in the UK now and seen Pearl Jam a few times over here. My concert days are over with now for the most part, next show will have to be really special to get me to go

  • saw the mirriors tour in johnson city tenn.in the late 70s,best i remember they had a better lite show than in this video but i could have been inpaired and just dont know which was which, saw them 3 times in 2or3 yr. span

  • @MrJailbird32 I was at that show, Rainbow were supposed to open but instead we got Robert Palmer and the light show for BOC was as brilliant as you remember and that tour had all original members.

  • @stoneddude11 i remember palmer subin for somebody over there and they sucked, looked like they all were drunker than i was but couldn't rem.who they played for, some pals and i used to go to johnson city prob twice a month and we saw some dandy bands...man those were the days

  • I saw this exact same concert at UCLA Royce hall in the summer of '79.

  • so gay

  • This song is and has been on heavy rotation on my iPod. Love BOC!

  • i saw this show in long island..where they are from.mirrors on the back of their guitars

  • I saw BOC in Canada in 2004, they had a raffle to determine who got to play cowbell on Reaper. Sadly, I didn't win. They did not play this tune, but it is still one of my favorites.

  • LOVE THE BOC!!! Thanks!

  • I could not of put it better myself! I saw them at Bingley Hall 1980 the best concert I have ever seen so many...

  • This tune was written by their bud from college...forget his name but they give him credit for it. Maybe best song on Mirrors, an excellent album from an excellent band.

  • @clubninjarock Sandy Perlman, I believe.

  • Buck Dharma- the smoothest rocker ever. The guitar is just an extension

of his inner soul- effortless. Man, love those front 3 guitarists together-

    Pure Bliss!

  • Didn't "Buck" write stuff for Aldo Nova?

  • @honda5ray: When BOC toured in 1982, Aldo Nova played with them.

Years later, I saw Aldo Nova play a free gig in Seattle, right after Mudhoney. (hah!) It was right out of "Spinal Tap," from the burly guys guarding the stage, the matched leather jackets, the opening cry of "Helloooo, Seattle!" and the synchronized guitar stroking. Wow.

  • @RadioFreeSpike Ya, I saw that '82 tour for the ETL album in Montreal; my home town and Aldo Nova's. I remember Aldo laying on his back doing some endless guitar solo while one of his roadies was supposedly doing a repair job on his guitar at the same time. He seems to like the "cheese". BOC was amazing, of course.

  • Great track!!

  • If they come through Tacoma to play at the casino soon, I'm there.

  • I never tire of this band.

  • @foppa123 this is the first vid iv seen of them and im already tired of them

  • @iplayveryloud not for everybody, I guess.

  • @iplayveryloud : This was slicker than much of their other works. If you like it heavier, check out stuff from "Secret Treaties." If you like the pop stylings but not the lyrical content, "Fire of Unknown Origin" still holds up pretty well. Just my four cents worth.

  • @RadioFreeSpike Mirrors was an obvious attempt to go for Top-40 success, the band has admitted this. Thus you also see the slicker appearance, dandy hair dos and Joe Bouchard's white jumpsuit. Following Spectres' commercial failure (relatively speaking to Agents of Fortune), the band was deep in debt and was hoping a commercial album - with a heavy emphasis on Buck Dharma on lead vocals - would do the trick. Unfortunately, the public and hardcore fans were not at all amused, Mirrors bombed.

  • @azmarkus That's not a jumpsuit....it's a speed suit;)

  • @iplayveryloud yu must listen to all songs

  • I agree-buck is one of the most underrated guitarists next to Joe Walsh and Jimmy Page

  • @outlawwolf621 I don't really think Jimmy Page would be considered underated, perhaps overated is more appropriate!

  • They should have turned on the lights for this one.

  • I love Buck's voice so much. It's music to my ears....not to mention his guitar playing.

  • Blue Oyster Cult. In my day (70's and 80s)' were what they called a "thinking man's band"-circus magazine

  • Agreed, BOC and RUSH, are a Thinking Man's Bands. I like the Circus Magazine reference. I was subscriber from early to late 70's.

  • OMG what happened? They were once a METAL band.

  • BÖC was never a metalband.

  • ??? Um, yeah, they were definitely a metal band. Go back and listen to their 1st 5 albums.

  • I did&do listen to their 1st 5 albums. And some other BÖC albums. Well, they play some kind of metal. I like to call it hard rock. Guess you right in a way there. Heavy metal is more like Ozzy or Iron Maiden to me. BÖC have something more than just metal. Maybe some "Extra Terrestrial Intelligence"..

  • true they where rock gods though

  • Oh yes they were! They were just cleaner. Even my mom, a piano teacher and music lover found some of their stuff quite interesting.

  • Great song! One of many greats. Rock on!

  • no better band ever existed!

  • BOC never got the respect and credit they deserved. The true fans like us realize what they were all about. I rank BOC up there as one of the best American Metal/Rock bands of all time.

  • I agree with you, easily one of the most (if not the most) under rated rock bands of all time.

  • there no other is truer statement bro.

  • @DavidSontz this

  • Are there anymore vids out there from this concert aside from this and the dr music/in thee one?

  • it was no concert, but a special promo shot.

  • Saw them for the first and only time around this point in their career. Didn't realize then I was in the room with greatness. Oh well. At least I can say I was there.

  • There is a great song on this album. It

is "The Vigil". The guitar work by Buck on

"The Vigil" will blow you away.

  • true, but their are two solos at the same time, i know buck is doing one, who is doing the other one, is it allen

  • yesss..

the vigil is just another great song of BÖC!

  • The Vigil is amazing.

  • "Pretty girls can't look away"...great chorus, and yes, fabulous solo, where it tails back into the riff is too cool.

  • Mirrors was not my favorite BOC album, but 30 years later I must say that it had several songs, like this one (Lonely Teardrops, You're Not the One), that would have made perfectly reasonable Top Ten hits. Why weren't they, considering the junk that made it to the top of the charts at the time? BTW, smokin' solo by Buck.

  • I love BOC but the chorus would be perfect for a hairspray or makeup commercial..

  • Yeah, it's about vanity...get it?

  • Great live version of "Mirrors,." a great BOC song IMO, that never received the credit it deserved, mainly because the LP was a forgettable dog.

  • Solid. And consistent. As usual. Here is a band that busted their keester almost non-stop from ? into the 00's. Kudos! Five stars for the boys. Always. Bloom says that 08 has been one of the best years in 40. Righteous.

  • Right on. I dug the tune mirrors, all their stuff was amazing.

    Beyond Heavy Metal for years.

  • BOC is and always will be my favorite band.

  • I think Tyranny and Mutation is there best, but they made some of the best late 70's early 80's hard rock around!

  • I lean towards Secret Treaties, but agree totally.

  • buck is really getting into it, he and allen really know how to rock out!

  • oh to be young!

  • I saw the boys in 1979 in Manchester UK, on the Mirrors tour, they blew me away then.

They were excellent at Donington the following year with AC/DC, apart from the PA that was c**p, so it wasn;t their fault.

I have just seen them in Holmfirth UK (2008) in the smallest of clubs, they still ROCK.

Mirrors if one of the best records by the guys and I haave them all on vinyl and CD

  • This tour was my first big arena concert. At the Baltimore Civic Center, Blackmore's Rainbow opened.

  • Can't get enough of this vid. I'm especially amazed at Albert's drumming. Wow. I do like Jules, their current drummer, lots. Come to Detroit Aug. 15 for a free BOC concert. But save me the front row

  • i love that harmonized riff in the beginning!

    Seeing them today - whoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great album too

  • This should be back in the set!

  • 1979.......Buck Dharma, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Chips, Alice...... Ah to be a kid again.

  • 1979 good times, good times

  • my dads been listening to them since he was like 10, hes seen them 16 times. my aunt followed them around the west coast for a couple years. ive only seen them twice but ive been listening to them since i was born. own every album theyve made, even imaginos. played guitar since i was 9, bucks one of my idols, as good as any guitarist to ever play, frank zappa, yngwie malmsteen, jake e. lee ect... as good as theyve ever been, still on tour and rockin' long live BOC, best band to ever play!

  • despite what everyone says mirrors was a badass album

  • Nice one Harl. More more more!

  • not one of their best known songs, but I love it! In fact, I have it on my account, too, but not live ;-]

  • Monty-great song-one of my favs.I saw them do it live in '79.I like how Buck commented on how it brought up the idea of the cover girl before they became a huge part of the public's consciousness though I might take issue that(Monroe,Mansfield, etc) but he does have a point.Great work.

  • Shame on Columbia records...this album could have been like "Hysteria"...the production is amazing! At least 6-7 top 40 hits!

  • I did hear "Golden Age" (another collaboration) performed live 14 months ago, however, in a New Year's show in Corning, NY. It was a thrill! We're getting on, but it's been a long, great ride watching The Boys perform through the years. I threw away all my backstage passes a few years before eBay. Too damn bad! Rock on, Bruce Abbott

  • Totally underrated. I remember when this came out and was in the Top 40. Everybody was expecting it to make BOC huge like Journey or The Eagles and it just fizzled. You had to have been alive at the right time then, but it should have been a super hit. BOC remained a big concert draw, but this should have been a giant radio hit, too.

  • I remember buying this album a few years ago and expecting it to suck. God, what a great surprise...we need a remaster...

  • Thanks for the positive comments Tatoo. I wrote this song (lyrics) with Buck in 1978. On the demo, Buck's wife Sandy did the girl part, better than the two on the studio version (one sand with Meatloaf). Unbelievably, I've never heard it performed live, only on the radio. Thank you Hogg for posting!

  • Fuck me!

I like to think I can comment on music videos cogently and with a bit of subtlety but my, oh my it needs the two word sentence above.

Absolutely staggering performance and the solo - better than the lp and I can't believe how great this performance is- I'm almost in tears.Incredible, Incredible!!!

  • Great guitar playing, as always.

  • Pretty nice)Chorus by band members is better than by girls in the studio version.

  • Joe on bass & supporting vocals, Eric on guitar & supporting vocals, Albert on drums & supporting vocals, Allen on second guitar, and Buck on lead vocals and SIZZLING HOT first guitar performing MIRRORS. Who needs girl singers on this? These sultans of power rock can hold their own any day.

  • I love you BUCK.

  • Buck is the musical genious...the rest of the boys are the perfect compliment. Love Mirrors...

  • Couldn't agree more Foppa. Never saw them play anything from this album live. Anybody got The Storm?

  • So cool. Coulda used some sexy babes singing. Foppa, I couldn't agree more. Thanks so much for posting this. Love this album, but have never seen them play a song from it live. Anybody have The Storm?

  • Sweet riff. This album is awesome...so it's more pop...so what...

  • most underrated band in history

  • simply the greatest band in history. the underrated aspect of it is criminal

  • Great to see these videos, thanks !

  • WOW!!!!! Please tell me that you have more than this.......

  • What a smokin' lead in this song. The live version of this song really makes me appreciate the song.

  • Thanks Harley you whiner you.LOL.

  • 3 song live in studio promo-In Thee ,DR Music & Mirrors.I saw them do this live at Nassau Coliseum in '79(Twisted Sister opened).

  • Wow. This has got to be really, really rare.

  • I seem to remember there was three songs shot that day, from Mirrors (the album).

  • Wow! Where did this come from, it's AMAZING!

  • This is awesome! Thank you Harley! ;)
