I really want to use a Linux video-editing program but is there anything on Linux that's better than clacketty cinellera & crochety Kdenlive? I want a program that works as well as Windows moviemaker 2.6 - a program that will allow my creative ideas to materialise & Cinelerra & Kdenlive are just too obstructive with all their technical poblems?
Anyone got help for me? I edit the video fine and dandy, I render it... takes a while but it's alright. I check the video and it's either 2 or 3 times longer than it's meant to be. It plays at normal speed and when it gets to the end of what I recorded it stops but it still has like halfway to go.. wtf
Do not record in 1080p... this is HD for movies, for screencasts it doesn't show nicely on smaller resolutions, e.g. I have 1280x800 and I am unable to see the text. Consider something like 800x600 for screencasts, so everyone can see what exactly you are doing
Anyone who starts using Kdenlive is advised to get their blood pressure tested regualrly - your eyesight too, as Kdenlive was written for ants to crawl across the page & perform the edits for you. Kdenlive stinks.
I think I need codecs because my video is all different colors but I can hear the audio, its only things I record with Recordmydesktop, anyway you could help?
Thanks for this tutorial, but I can't find the "last video" you've been talking about (the output of this tutorial) so I'd appreciate it if you send me a link to it or add it to the description of this video. Keep it up mate.
I enjoyed this video, I just started using KDEnlive yesterday and it seems pretty simple... however I'm used to Premier Pro. this is quiet a few steps down from that, but it was free and well i'm not used to Linux yet either. the only problem I'm running into is
HOW TO EXPORT THE VIDEO I'll try to fiddle around with more, but if someone is able to message me with info or just answer on this video, it'll be greatly appreciated.
Also I'm trying to start a youtube concept, check out my page.
@EdgyRootStudios yes. Now I found out this problem. Maybe the directory of the saved file was corrupted. I don't now. I still don't now how I made it..XD

@Adevnulset
Maybe that say more about you, than about Kdenlive, Kdenlive has alot of dependantcies like ffmpeg, mlt and other system-utillities ..
If those programs is not set up correctly your kdenlive can crash "unexpected" ..
Mine did that until i got a stable Kaffeine and with all the codecs needed, and a working video4linux setup for grabbing webcam correctly.

Will Kdenlive work best with KDE? or is Gnome ok? It seems to crash for me but I doubt its Kdenlive to blame, instead my video driver or PC config

Beautiful video demo. You have a perfect voice over talent. I'm learning more and more about Kdenlive. I've been using Final Cut for years.
