don't feed your fly trap ants, wasps, bee's or insects that are predatory or live in colonies, they eject mild corrosive/poisonous substances into your fly trap. these could be absorbed through the leaf by diffusion along with the nutrients obtained from the insect.the toxins will then be inside the plant and can be carried around inside the plant and do damage and possibley kill the plant.
@JerryAshotyan with antiquate water and sunlight they don't need to feed on prey. The traps are to supplement any nutrition it would not get in it's natural environment of swamps.
nice video :) Can you help me? how to propagate the venus flytrap? I took one trap with a footstalk and now it's in a cup with melted snow - rain. I putted it next to some light. Will it live? please help me
@nonnaida well, in winter there is not more natural sunlight, but in summer you see some red traps, thats ok, my plant is about 10 years old and deals well with the light conditions ;-)
at the end that looks so amazing and fully grown!! like ive said myn have just produced 3 large traps and smallerones underneath theres more going to turn into traps in the next few weeks or so.
wow... I'd be scared if I were to come across a forest of Venus flytraps O.O
