  • by the way its red not pink well its more red than pink because I'm a guy and we don't like pink but i finally got it off and i just noticed that i have had it the wrong way for the pas 3 weeks !!!im suck an idiot

  • this bitch talks a lot just fcking show us how

  • I have a Speck hard shell case for my MacBook. I have no problems removing the case at all. In fact, it's super easy; a kid could do it. Is this a problem with Speck covers specifically, or Incase?

  • You still are "damaging" it more by removing it so whats the point taking it off. Dust doesnt even make hair scratches so whats the point?

  • the bottom came off fine... the top is NOT going anywhere. :/

  • @rivqahelishiva just crack one side ( left or right) take two snaps off.then ur done

  • thank you to the people who've said "use a credit card." Honestly, it's better than using a butter knife and it worked swimmingly.

  • Helpful :D

  • this was the worst advice ever, i slid it off and it scratched my macbook pro.

  • yeah really my fingers are killing me , it wont come off at all..

  • i still don't see how it just pops off like that. my case will just NOT BUDGE, especially at those spots you showed.

  • credit card always works. zip it through the edges.

  • I tried it and it's kind of like theres a secret, the bottom piece comes off simply, but the top piece you have to snap off kind of like a bottle-cap.

  • You guys, it's easier if you slid a card in and pop it off. I can make a video showing you if you want. no scratches surprisingly lol.

  • @SwtAngel2 this video probably works also, as the nice lady demonstrated, but it didn't work for me.

  • I was struggling with this for so long -- started to regret buying the case. It turns out it's all about subtlety. Rather than applying pressure to the tabs themselves, use two fingers to apply gentle pressure either side of a single tab -- it will literally pull away with such ease that you wondered how you didn't figure it out in the first place.

To reiterate: don't pull the tabs themselves, push away from the screen/body with two fingers on either side of a tab.

    It's just about technique.

  • @lukeLomg It was actually your suggestions that helped me get my bottom case off!!

  • @lukeLomg THAT WORKED FOR ME OMG

  • she's using her brut force getting the case off!

  • this tutorial is soo helpful! because yesterday i was trying to remove the cover and i ended up hurting myself doing it..

  • If that doesn't work just throw it against the wall

  • oh my fucking god i can't get the fucking top off D:

  • @Pedofailed i used a credit card, slipped it between the computer & the case and they popped right off!

  • yeii i finally did it... I was so scared!

  • i just used my school ID

  • @drumminmaniac THANK YOU! I used a card and it worked!

  • It's much easier and quicker to use a credit card or hard card such as a gift card. You just slide it under until you get to a clip and it pops right off.

  • hi i have 200 of the newest version for 2008 and up both 13 and 15 inch...i can sell them for 25 dollars which is half price...i have an ebay account for anyone interested who needs one.

  • I too could not get it off at first, that's cause I tried doing so when I was at my confined study desk(well, if that's what you did). So, go to a dining table or a table where there's sufficient amount of space (remember to place something soft) and if you have a moshi palm rest protection on, remember to remove it before trying to take out the bottom case; took some time to realize that. Oh, and amazingly, it's SCRATCH FREE! :) Also, it's brilliantly easy to take it out. Thanks for the video!

  • =o, why are ur arms disscolorated?

  • WOW! thank you! i didnt clean the case properly when installing and had little specks between the lid and the speck case. Looked crap. THANKS TO U! for this tip. THANKS THANKS THANKS!

  • ANNOYING LONG INTROOOOOOOOOOO.

  • UGH,... I WANT THE PINK!!!!!! :)

  • wtf i still cant get it off.. wtf..

  • it is i cant get the bottom part off.

  • looks a bit of a pain tbh , but i prob will get one for my macbook pro . but you should not put the back of your screen on your desk if you do not want it to get marks on it ??

  • That is def not a woman. Stop calling him a she and being mean!

  • @upsidedownbanana well if you look at the reflection on the screen you can tell this is a woman

  • Thanks for the vid!! It was 'useful' =)

I'm getting a MBP soon and I'm torn... Which case should I get, Incase or Speck?? :?

  • Get a credit card or someting hard and slide along the back

  • My thumb hurts. Im doing something wrong

  • OMG SHAVE YOUR ARMS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! I HAVE LESS HAIR ON MY ARMS AND I AM AN IRISH MAN!!!!

  • and... after all, you scratches it with your ring, hehehe~~

  • Seriously, you'd have to run at MBP's with a hatchet to scratch them, the cases are great, took a while to get used to removing mine.

  • tried it and it hurt my hands... its still not off.

  • thank you so much for the tips

  • just scratched my macbook.........

  • Thank you so much...i have the white macbook and it worked perfect.

  • tks for sharing! i followed what u did n i successfuly removed my speck case:)

  • voila! haha. 40 seconds later on the top part.

  • @glamrobyn hey respect the lady !

  • thanks this helped me so much! one question : i see condensation between the case and computer is that normal? i tired to wipe off a few times but it was there when i put the case back on

  • its red.

  • i got my incase hardshell few weeks ago, it is super easy to take it off. i really don't know why everyone is making sure a big deal saying that its hard to remove. also no scratches at all. truly best investment!

  • i would never lie my macbook pro down on hard surface like that almost made me cry watching this savage treatment

  • Thanks , 2 people missed the "like" button

  • Your video was really helpful! I had a bit of a problem snapping the front cover off in the back with just my fingers because they were hurting my nails (mind, they're only about 2mm long). So I used a credit card to slip between the case and the mbp, and that did the job.

  • LIFE SAVer!!!!!

  • thank you so much i subscribe now i live in hk it is 11 but thank u i subscribe yesssssss

  • holy connoli, thanks so much!!!

    extra exclamation points for you

  • i can't remove mine cause mine the older macbook 13 white :(

  • the bottom wasn't too bad to get off. the top was extremely difficult so i decided to watch this video. the top is still really hard. i probably won't continue to remove my case as often every month. too much work!

  • I got the speck see thru black satin shell and it's a pain in the butt to take off the top cover!

  • thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you get any scratches where the tabs are? I am afraid that removing it will scratch the screen where the tabs are or anywhere that the tab is touching the macbook? THANKS!

  • @abshih No scratches at all!

  • @abshih it wont get any scratches or damages at all cause her macbook is aluminum

  • yes i did find it useless ;) jk but for everyone having problems with the corners.. one solo corner. Remove the snap on the top and the opposite corner. Once done attach the corner you were having problems with then the other corner then the top ;) dont go top first

  • yes i did find it useless ;) jk but for everyone having problems with the corners.. one solo corner. Remove the snap on the top and the opposite corner. Once done attach the corner you were having problems with then the other corner then the top ;) dont go top first

  • thnx

  • i had the hardest time taking my cover off!

  • Great video tut, on the top case did you only snap of the back snaps and than it just completely came off? I didn't see you snap off the other 3, hope you can answer. I am getting mines very soon, thank you once again. :)

  • Finally off after 20min! Anybody else having issues with the black one? No scratches though, mac is in mint condition - case highly recommended!

  • No ways, sorry but I think the "pink" ones must be easier to remove! I still can't get mine off - LOL

Don't buy the black one - it won't come off!!! Just kidding, but seriously, I still can't get it off!

  • THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! I had to send my Pro in for repair and despaired of removing the Incase (I have the pink, too). I'm VERY appreciative that you took the time to post.

  • just get to the point -.-

  • i still cant get it off lol

  • Comment removed

  • IT WORKED!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

  • Omg great video! I have a white macbook! Its very helpful to do it from the bottom, the only thing i did different was I snaped it more with my nail... but be careful u could scratch with that method... I did'ten, im just warning u!

  • has the case scratched you macbook pro?

  • Sweet vid. Took me little to no time at all to do it...not sure what folks are complaining about. Oh well...sending in my macbook to get the drive replaced. Once it comes back my case will be going right back on...yet off again for a good cleaning every now and then. Thanks again.

  • How do you clean the actual case? Mine's full of oil and stuff haha

  • This video was totally useful and 0% useless. Thanks.

Still thinking about getting a case like this one (in a different hue) for my Mac. You know, I got a thin and light portable, don't want to make it too clunky. But just imagine it with a purple or black case like your on...

  • my bottom shell comes off without problem. However, the top shell has snaps that are alot further back relatively so there's little space to lever it off. oh well... at least it's the bottom where are the dust and crap accumulates and not the top...

  • It won't come out, apple tried, I tried, my dad tried, etc...

I contacted incase they said yo take it to the apple store and they can't help me there, incase won't do anything about it cuz I can't take it off so now I'm stuck with a incase too for the rest if this laptops life. Maybe u can give me more options in this case, please and thanks, respond fast, I have thus case on for 5 months straight and it won't come out!!

  • can u sned me a case to review

  • Its funny how u show the macbook isnt scratched then flip it over on that hard surface and then scrape you ring over it lol! Good video though. I just bought one of these (Black) today gonna grab a Moshi keyboard cover too!

  • It can take a lot! But mine still isn't scratched lol!

  • crap i just got a case for my white macbook and i cannot get it off!! no matter what i do!

  • wow thanks for informing us!!! i just got a new incase hardshell and i was wondering why it was so hard to take off too. but i tried your method and it really does work. thanks again!

  • do you have any scratches on your computer from this method? Mine doesn't, but I wanted to know if doing this multiple times after a while will scratch it. Thanks!

  • I remove my hard shell about once a week to clean it and I have no scratches yet! Thanks for the comments!

  • Great video! I can take my case off now without breaking my computer first!

  • Thankyou for showing :)!

  • Your very welcome! Thank you for the comment!

  • Oh okay then. Thanks very much

  • Okay, I just have to ask this lol. What is that song that plays at the beginning of your videos?? It sounds so interesting and i'm dying to know!

  • It's actually one of the standard pre set music clips from imovie called 44th Street. I am not sure if it is part of another song or if it is an apple original piece- I would assume it is. Thanks for the question!!

  • this is plastic right? lol just making sure

  • Yes, they are hard plastic, and the Incase as well as the SeeThru Satin have a rubberized exterior. But these aren't cheap plastic, they are heavy duty!

  • should i get incase or speck? which one is more reliable?

  • I don't think the choice is one of reliability. I have owned one of each and can say they both do an equally good job of protecting your laptop. The Incase shell is nice because it has a rubberized finish so it doesn't scratch. The Speck SeeThru is just hard plastic and easily picks up scratches, however speck also makes a SeeThru Satin which is supposed to be more like the incase with the rubberized soft touch finish.

  • I was scared to get this case in fear of it scratching up my Macbook. Looking at this video I think I might get one. Did you purchase yours from apple or a 3rd party site?

  • I bought mine from my local Apple Store. I really wanted to see it in person before I bought it.

  • Still doesn't. even the apple people can't take it out! what do i do?? please help!!!

  • If you took it to Apple and they can't remove it, I think you have a defective unit. You might want to get in touch with the company to see what they say. Sorry your having so much trouble with this.

  • @MissTrenchcoat stupid girl! you remove the bottom case first so that you don't damage the upper part of you laptop..there is less chanes of getting the bottom damaged.

  • It won't come of, no matter what I try! please help.

  • Start from the top of the shell and try to pop off the bottom clips first. You need to pull relatively hard, especially if this is the first time you are trying to remove it. Use your pointer fingers to push the clips up and away from the screen and use your thumbs to help bend the shell. Remember its hard plastic, you shouldn't be able to break it but you will be able to bend it. Let me know how you make out!
