I agree sometimes he is a spot picker, but Ruutu has fought for example Reid Simpson and Jeremy Stevenson. And he does square off at times (vs. Ondrus for example). And he kicked some David Ling ass the next season after he got TKO'd by him.

As much as I would like Ruutu to answer the call more often, let's remember he is a middleweight. He defenately got some skills, he packs a really powerful punch. He should use it more often.

I guess I just don't understand what your point is. I've never considered Ruutu a "fighter" like I would consider Laraque a fighter. You don't see him actually drop the gloves too often, but that's not why we acquired him. He's a physical player and an agitator. And there is no doubt that he's great at that.  Also, he has real skill too. He can definitely adds to the offense. Colby Armstrong wasn't the best fighter either, but he would scrap on occasion.
