  • whenever someone says to me, "did you hear about the...(fill in the blank with some terrible event)?" The first thing I say is, "do I want to?" That does throw them for a loop and gives me a tiny space to change the subject. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but I think most of the time it makes ppl pause and think about what they're talking about, and they get the idea that not everyone wants to talk about terrible events.

  • Thank you! I don't feel bad about the Tsunami in Japan because there are so many other things to be happy about. And everyone calls me a dick but I don't care.

  • yeah, we can realize that the world is full of beauty. our choice. This is a part of being media literate, to realize the nature of the news, to accept the world, to live well being, and you don't even have to go on a media fast.

  • yes but less ppl would want to see the news if it was about that cause its boring

:( sometimes not all the time

  • So true, I've been on media blackout for about seven years. I read selectively now, but any generic bad news I need to know about still manages to reach me. lol

  • well-being abounds - that's just as simple as that.

  • Really really great, thanks again for uploading all:))

  • Lovely picture - I don't give my attention to the TV news. It is not the route to better feeling feelings
