  • Is that the same C 17 that crashed?

  • Whom ever was at the controls committed murder/suicide just like that other idiot at Fairchild.

  • Very dangerous for the people on the ground to put it over the flight line like that. Just a matter of time before these morons kill a bunch of people...

  • First off and fore most none of you know what you are talking about, now for respect for the family and friends of these aviators please feel free to stop the ignorance. All of these theories are assumed. Its on a need to know basis...you do not need to know.

  • @C3LCIU5 Agreed. Let the USAF conduct a full investigation and find out what went wrong. There is no need to spread rumors of "what ifs". USAF personnel lost their lives and their families are grieving that loss!! Let us just continue to pray for them to give them strength through a very difficult time!! Let them now rest in peace!

  • One of those just crashed yesterday at Elmendorf. 4 were killed and there was a pretty big crash comparable to an earthquake from what some people said. The C-17 was just a ball of fire and quickly went down, there was a pretty big smoke plume that was probably about 2,000 feet in the air. It sucks.

  • @wcooper97 No, there was no ball of fire before the aircraft went down. The ball of fire came after the crash.

Try to keep from spreading misinformation.

  • @149281 Oh, well that's what I heard what someone said that was reported on KTUU. Sorry. It doesn't even matter if it was before or after, either way, the aircraft caught on fire, and that caused the crew to die, that's what's most important, maybe it would have mattered more if they were able to eject.

  • @wcooper97 It DOES matter what happened. The C-17 made a 90 degree turn immediately after take off, it did not recover from the turn and crashed into the ground.

  • @liOVERLOADil I was saying it didn't matter what happened with the ball of fire before or after the crash, because even if it happened at any one of those points the crew would have been dead still. I was asleep when it happened and didn't see it, I live in the area and even went to the Air Show and gained some information about it, no one knows for at least 2 years of investigation so don't assume too much yet...

    I heard from other witnesses.

  • @wcooper97 I personally witnessed the now crashed C-17 perform combat maneuvers over where I work on base. The angle's that the C-17 had been put into at such low altitudes were extreme to say the least. I have yet to see a youtube video of a C-17 demo that comes close to what I've seen. From the eye witness accounts of those I work with who saw it crash, it was banking just the same as I had been seeing it days prior. A perfect example in this case is the B-52 crash at Fairchild AFB in 1994.

  • @liOVERLOADil Ahhh. Guess you win? From what my family is guessing it's like something wrong with the servo or something that made it do that. Not sure.. my mom's career field here isn't aircraft or anything...

  • @wcooper97 Pilot error. Not enough altitude, not enough speed.

  • @wcooper97 No. While it is a fly by wire electronic flight control system, there is no "servo" that would cause a crash. Respectfully don't spread rumors of an aircraft crash if you are not familiar with the EFCS system or aircraft operations.

  • @adrianspeeder Okay, well I was just trying to get in the conversation, trying to learn more, there really is no restriction on comments. I'm only 13 and just stated the fact that I was around the area, and stuff that some of my friends and adults around me thought. I wasn't trying to spread any rumors. Besides, they won't find out what caused the crash for at least a year or so anyways..

  • @wcooper97 Fair enough, if you'd want to learn about C17s, I could talk all day. It's a very capable airplane, but either human or mechanical error, just after takeoff and low to the ground doesn't allow room for a mistake. The accident board will know the cause by now, it just won't be released for a few more months when all the facts are crunched a few times.

Workin' these birds I've come to like them, kind of like good friends. Even have worked 0173 myself, so it's a somber time.

  • @adrianspeeder Yeah it would be cool to learn more about Airplanes, I'm trying to take a class at my school, but they really wouldn't know much about Military Aircraft. Eh, it'd still be cool to learn a tiny bit about aircraft.. learned a tiny bit at the Air Show, but mainly only how the planes look and everything. Probably should ask some co workers of my mom or something.. :\
