Cutting coils springs goes back to when the first hot roders discovered coils and they needed them lower, but now its a shit way to do it for late model cars.
racers have been cutting them since coils first cme out. before they had lowering kits.you shouldve spent extra for strut cartriges sure those ones are toast. that will help your ride more.
cutting the springs is better, do half a coil at at time until you get the height you want make sure you take the coil off the strut first use a grinder not a torch heat weakens the strut then urefucked. or spend 200 bucks on lowering springs
@niteninja01 if u cut the springs to low they arent captive, so its a shit ride, my mate bought a car with cut springs and they fell out, so if only a couple rings are cut off ur all good
Coilovers or nothing. My 1997 240sx on stance gr+ coilovers almost as low as they can go. Slamming your car the right way with coilovers isnt rice. But I do agree with the heated up springs..... That almost as rice as it gets

That sucks. I drive old muscle cars..you do not have to change a thing to make them look good...except a supercharger and some slicks. Sorry about your rice car though.
@iFKNKANED well he traded his old truck for it not sure why he did it without bringing it by 1st, and as for slamming it depends on what u do with the car, straight track car sure slam it "right".. daily driver/weekend racer etc id keep it a little higher than lets say ...speedbumps. but thats me. this thing dragged the front bumper and than the fart can as it pulled in my slightly inclined driveway.
@iFKNKANED there is no correct way to slam a car you moron, once you lower a car past a certain point and start throwing in rediculous amounts of camber your putting extra uneeded stress on parts of the car that were designed for that. i bet you drive a slammed v-dub huh
@beyond305 yea i do drive a mk3 golf an it not slamed its bin stanced tho an yea it is kind of low an i aint had no problems with it.. anyway thats why i said (if done correctly) u neva heard of buying new strut tops ect...
@iFKNKANED not just talking about strut tops dude..think of your axels, joints, etc... yea a car thats lowered 2-3" is good looking and DOES function but anything past that with anymore than -3/+3 camber and your driving a shit box
Hmm that's an interesting line, you stiffen the car not lower it.
I guess a lot of people don't understand that, you increase the weight rating of the spring as you go lower otherwise you will just end up destroying things.
@aznkid221 other than tacky rttle can paint, cheesy autozone emblems, he had a " cold air " intake just dangling down in the bay, fart can welded to a 1 1/2 exhaust with a restricted crushed cat, and had "drift bling" hanging from rear bumper, yea umm drift... about that... this car was quite a chuckle and yes i slapped my friend for trading his truck for this.
@chris32106 hmm, thats odd i thought a camber kit was a "kit" that adjusted the control arm outward or inward via offset or adjustable studs.to allow for adjustment on camber or caster..? well shucks guess you learn something new every day. if you need help just google images of "control arm" and.......your welcome.. oh and hahah back at ya
@MethodRacing You obviously know nothing about cars... of course that's a front camber kit! I bet you don't even know how to change your headlight fluid! lol
@nightmathzombieethan oh dear, this is hillarious, a camber kit is installed with the control arm, this car had no camber kit on it which is why the tires were cambered so bad it murdered the inner tread, again no camber kit installed on this car, and yes the piece that punched a hole in the chassis was in FACT a control arm, i could have used a camber kit in which bolts in with the upper control arm bushings and onto the frame which pushes the upper control arm out. get your sht straight
@nightmathzombieethan after these 2 ignorant comments i am going to post a video soon on how to adjust camber/caster toe etc... and what a f-bombing control arm is. and some cars need camber kits and some can be adjusted in other ways. this is to funny, i will be doing coil overs soon on my evo so look for this video i will be sure to point out how you are wrong.
@MethodRacing LMFAO it took you a second to see my sarcasm? Maybe when you're done with that vid you can post one on how to adjust the side mirrors for more low end torque, and how to use the windshield wipers for better traction in the turns. OK, I'm done! Seriousy though man, thanks for posting... I'm a "japanese car nut". I have 2 old Hondas and I find it unfortunate that as a "Honda guy" I usually end up lumped in the same category as ricers...
@nightmathzombieethan haha, yea like the guy above ur post said driveway full of ricers, wow an evo a ricer, hmm his name is dipshit782. poor history of this car i finally convinced the owner of this car if you cant afford to do it right just stop dont do anything until u have the money, than the motor seized, did jdm swap, than he drove it into a curb, it just wasnt ment to be, i didnt like putting the lower springs on the beat to hell struts but well he was broke and than it snowballed,
@nightmathzombieethan oh yea and it was funny to say check ur muffler bearings until i found that it does exist muffler w/baffle that uses bearings hmm still funny to me tho
@chris32106 He said the "Upper control arm." He was correct in saying that. It was the upper control arm that was hitting on the underside of the shock tower pocket. A camber kit would be a group of parts that allows for the front spindle to be moved in or out at the top (or bottom depending on the setup) to change the angle of the tire where it would contact the pavement.
thank you for saving a riced car! I am not a fan of preludes, but I do work in automotive repair and it is great to see an abused car get into the hands of someone who will take car of it. Every once in a while we see someone resurrect a once abused vehicle, and it is something that makes my job worth it.
my spelling is off do to im on my phone .definition of a ricer ..one who modifies a car unproperly .by using unesesarry parts painting parts to make them look aftermarket bigg ass fart cans fire estinguishers .( so when the car catches fire on the fast lane) decals like flames and the ol autozone vents on hood . decals or brands u arrent equiped with . intake piping runing next to ur exhaust minifold . intercooler without turbo ,exhaust turbo whistler .lol ......
haha don't forget about buying cheap ass cold air intake that they just leave sitting all pretty and chrome under the hood instead of attaching it to the air vents in the body.
@commender27 i work on many cars, the black evo that is featured in several of my vids as well as in the background of my channel homepage is mine, ill only drive AWD or RWD for drift. nothin against FWD its just not the same.
dude SHUT THE FUCK UP goddamn cry about it..o ricer this ricer that.. fuck u..i own a 63 impala suped the fuck out...and i own a 94 accord all decked out.. and its sick lookin so i dont care wut u have.. be proud of wut u got not wut people say jus to put u down
@kingofbass63 no offense intended but the reason ricer methods are idiotic, in mine and other true car enthusiasts' opinions, is because (if YOU spent the money of course) the money you spent money on these "upgrades" then it's a waste. There's nothing to be proud of, ironically. You could've spent either less, or even a little more, cash and have gotten way more for your money. Hell, consult a professional mechanic if you're unsure what would be good or bad for your car.
@xkillacam1993 well if u have had a car as long as i had u break down in the car and all the upgrades and shit tht u put into it makes ur liking for the car even better... so i guess wen i hear the word ricer it pisses me off becuz i put all my time money and work in my car and ppl call it shit sorry for getting all worked up..im in the process of painting my accord now.
@kingofbass63 nothing wrong with pride, brother.. I've had my 240sx for about 5 or 6 years now and only added a few (good) upgrades to it because that's all I've had the cash for, myself. I still love it nonetheless.. so I understand. Buuut.. as far as "upgrades" are concerned.. I'd stay away from Autozone and places like that for supplies haha.
@xkillacam1993 agreed theres no such thing as "upgrades" that can be purchased from autozone. thats where most honda boys get there "performance" parts from...
@AwwesomePossumm Haha yeah.. I suppose the only "upgrades" that are actually worth it to buy from Autozone are things like silver lug nuts, silver tire stem caps, tools, or maybe even Llumar window tint.
cut springs stiffen as you cut them ive had them on my integra for a year and they fell just as stiff as my skunk2 coils...the only ricer in this video is you talking like you know everything
odly enough I used to know a guy with a s13 who did pretty much the same thing, only he damn near killed us street racing hence the "used to know" part, the car itself was horrible, paint faded, chipped rims, backyard exaust plumbed back before the cat converter, man it was a piece of shit hahaha
Those are progressive springs - can't cut them. Linear ones you can cut all they long to adjust the ride height, not the best way to go, but sometimes you get a set if springs and expect a 2 inch drop and it does not deliver even after the car settles, well, you put a dremel to it to go lower.
@MileyCyrus192 haha these springs were so screwed we didnt need one, but they are 2 large bolts with brackets on them in which also have bolts that bolt to the coil and tighten the main bolt to compress the spring
@brakelateandturn how many people do i need to explain the jack is supporting the sagging front end. @ 0.24 thru 0.26 u can see the Fbombing jackstands im not an idiot, sorry so many people concerned about my safety thanks but i got this.
I have seen some stupid shit, but the previous owner of that prelude has to be one of the dumbest mother fuckers i have ever heard of. smdh god damn ricers.
actually you don't just stiffen your car you also lower it whitch does improve handling but a smart person would make sure if your lowering your car that you do it the right way with good struts and the right springs
Well I did it the right way and cut one coil loop off all 4 springs. Yeah the car looked a little better...but handled like shit. MORE COILS=MORE SPRING TENSION=BETTER HANDLING YOU RICER DIPSHITS) so If I ever want to go lower i'm keeping my stock springs and maybe a good body kit instead.
@kcran5671 dont EVER cut your springs. buy LOWERING SPRINGS. they counteract the shitty handling and tension with different materials and winding techniques. its a great investment. you'll love the way the car sits and handles. grab new struts too if you get them. just for good measure because unless you JUST got new struts, you never know how bad they are. never do it yourself when it comes to modifying things like springs. there are actual parts for that function available for a reason.
@fjddr good advice id put more stress on getting performance struts they work much better together, lower springs tend to abuse oem stuff. its fairly easy to do yourself u just need to rent or buy spring compressors ( a must) just make sure you get your alignment done for camber etc.. i wish i made a video of doing it without compressors lol it was like a rocket and very dangerous haha i was 16 back than in 1996 dont try this at home , only trained idiots haha
Fucking ricers ruining every car they own, does not matter if its a honda or a fucking mustang for that matter, they will rice it equally, i drive a mustang and have seen my share of riced mustangs were i live, sometimes i feel like punching them, atleast they are mostly v6 mustangs but still there is no reason to put awful bodykits and wheels , if ur gonna spend $2000 in useless shit why not spend it on something that will atleast give the car some go like a blower or turbo kit.
lmao!......u knw rat rods are the shit!!! using less money as possible and still making it look cool...but this....this is inhuman...thank got i got a monte carlo
@conrynsilverleaf65 you have no idea what a ricer is. A ricer does stupid shit ike this. Just because a car is from japan or korea doesn't make it a ricer. should I start calling everyone that drives an amreican car a redneck? It's the same thing your doing
cutting em isn't even ricer? i have mine cut for atleast 6 years and i don't have a crappy box bouncing up and down nor have damage anywhere... sooo how about cutting em is cheap way to go?
You guys have a good educational video here. Maybe some of these young ricer wanna-be types will see this before they start work on their car. Better yet, maybe they won't evolve into a ricer driver.
@spiro37 if you cut the springs it will make the car sit lower because the spring is shorter. this is a bad Idea though because 1. you will change the spring rate (pretty much the force that the spring can push upwards) and 2. if you lower a car on stock shocks or struts they will fail. then you will pretty much bounce down the road. heting them is better than cutting them but both are horrible Ideas. I personaly like coilovers. They are a rough ride though lol.
I am very aware of that, hence why i said "IF ANYTHING" cut them. Meaning, if youre a ricer and you can afford a good suspensions set up then you're better off cutting the spring than heating them.
@HitMan1263 Alright that's cool some ppl don't know. I do get what you mean though. Heating the springs messes with the integrity of the spring rather than cutting messes with the alignment.
@Smokie420ish i say if you must go the cheap way, in which back in the day pre aftermarket for tuners, thats what they had to do, fabricate etc..either way cut or heat can be done right, with toe ,caster/camber corrections. its near impossible to get an even drop on heated springs tho, plus in most cases the car drops way to low.
RICE = Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement. "Rice" originally started off as an insult to Japanese cars in the USA, with plenty of bodykit and tiny little engines. =( don't say words if you DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN. I want to see your evo!!!!!!
yea and if u need performance parts here in chicago were located at 4711 w north ave or call1773 227 2242 for the best performance parts turbo coil overs u name it will have it tell baha cuba send u
I like it wen people use the word ghetto and dont know the meaning :D....it was actually braught to mind as a city in poverty were people had to do wat they did to survive.. Those arnt ghetto...those are jst some cheap ass idiots that didnt give a fuck about their car xD
@rysnyper50002 thanks for the response but how does the handling improve though? I understand tht it creates a lower center of gravity but is it really spending the time and money. Would a nice pair of tires do the trick? im not the guy for as far as suspensions go.
makes you wonder what is actually going on inside a riced out car.... its secretly held together by duct tape... ill stick to my old american muscle pickup thats 45 years old and can STILL kick a hondas ass... nothin beats the classics except a supra... i give supra props toyota did somethin right there until a ricer gets it....
contrary to popular belief...u can safely lower ur car by cutting springs....ONLY ON CERTAIN VEHICLES.....NEVER EVER EVER HEAT SPRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when u cut springs u should change the shock to adapt to the new higher spring rate and travel distance. on my bmw i didnt bother cause its so old ill let them go and then replace them. this car is just scary though
why the hell do you think u can safely cut springs?! if u cut em while on the car, ur playing with ur life, cuz the spring wil launch itself into orbit, and u dont wanna cut ur springs normally, cuz then u get the damage you see in the video, never heard of heating the springs, even a more stupid idea of cutting them. but one question, why but such a riced out car?
NOBODY is impressed with your insuts......said a bunch before me......dont hate cuz your to pussy to do shit.......buncha fuckin young asskids thinking they know EVERYTHING.......listen to your friends haha talk about ricers you guys dont know shit about cars...
i hate it when stupid people doing stupid shit to their cars like this...i bought an s14 from this kid that removed the engine harnest and try to rewire it but instead of doing it correctly he just decided to not hook it up to the ecu but to cross wire that single socket to itself...also dude didn't even bother hooking up the O2 sensor...i mean dam he must be throwing away gas money like toilet paper....also that is the most dangerous mod to coils ever, im surprised it even held the chassis.
people who hate on ricers are faggots. Why does something have to have a 'purpose'?! Stop HATING on what other people do to their cars just becasue your punk ass is to ashamed to do anythign different -- not everyone is a sheeple! I dont hate on ricers - I hate on corny people -- ricers spice up life and dont give a fuck, thats what I like about them -- its art.
@personalfunfest sounds like your a ricer too! and probably do this same shit to your car..hahaha. i personally love ricers, they give me a good laugh every now and then
dude your saying 'ricer' like it's an insult - call it whatever you want the point is THEY dont care and niether do I. Your too PUSSY to be what you wanna be and do what you wanna do, so you 'make fun' of people that have the BALLS to do what they want (tacky as they might be) -- stop hatin on dudes who mod their car whaterver way they choose. Don't act like a hater ass salty ass bitch.
Don't get me wrong. I'd like to modify a VW Scirocco myself (say maybe a wide-body kit and a discreet WRC style wing), but only after some upgrades to the car itself (say maybe stripping it out, stiffening it, give it a Supercharger and Intercooler, a sports-exhaust manifold and maybe an AWD drive train).
But what I can't stand is the half-arsed jobs out there where people fit poorly made fiber-glass bodykits that look like arse on their VW Polos without any upgrades.
You must suffer from a very severe mental disease, its ok I know ur white trash and cant afford the bill for treatment. its cool so stay that way, it makes me laugh.
Glad i bought a Porsche 928... i am only 18 however, but i'm focusing more on the interior first (bringing it back to it's glory), i am also in the process of essentially exchanging the ashtray/lighter sitting in the center console with a 3 gauge cluster for lets say oil temp, coolant temp, and cylinder head temp. Gauges will probably be from VDO, since they actually also make most of the gauges/readouts in Porsches. I have an 87 S4 5 speed.
this is a stupid video they are basically calling ppl ricers for lowering thier car but they are gona do the same shit just the right way so that makes them ricers to or no?
@diego19917633 they're calling the previous owner a ricer because he did shit half fast, they're putting megan racing lowering springs on. They have a higher spring rate and happen to lower it at the same time. higher spring rate means they can corner faster and have a stiffer ride
@diego19917633 ricer is someone who will cut corners/ cost etc just to make it look fast etc, I.e. ran into someone that had shoty spot weld rollcage in rx7 with pool noodles for shroud and home depot interior . not saying u have to buy brand name but make it work!!! cool u have a cage but i could fart on it and it would fall apart, looks cool, serves no purpose = rice.
@MethodRacing See, I like how you your mentality. I get beef because my civic is lower. and has 16 in rims. It's not race. It's a DD on tein springs. and some Koni shocks.
@diego19917633 no. even stated in the video, you don't "lower" a car, you stiffen the suspension so it doesn't smack the ground as it drives from weakened springs done the rice way. Riced vehicles 9 times out of 10 suffer serious damage from the modifications and serve no purpose other than to look different. Stiffened suspension will usually lower the car from the springs being different, but they serve a purpose for sharper turns and better handling. Heated springs = idiot who broke his car
@diego19917633 Your an idiot. there talking about doing it the correct way by using lower profile stiffer springs, cheap ass hole dumb f*cks like to cut and heat springs then drive around like they got some special tuned suspension, the stock springs were designed for the specs of that car when you heat or cut the springs you change how they work drastically, stop being a cheap ass hole and do it correctly or don't do it at all.
@thefuzz1542 i said that they were gona do it the right way but they made it seem like only ricers lowered tjhier car but they r gona do the samething watever dude o yea i like the way u have balls to call ppl names over utube but if u were infront of me u wouldnt say shit
@diego19917633 They said nothing that would lead you to believe that they were simply lowering the car. they said "don't slam it, stiffen it" which means use shorter springs that are stiffer so the car can stay the constant ride height and not bottom its self out. and i call jack ass's like you stupid to there face all the time, why don't you go to these guys and tell them that there video is stupid and that they don't make any sense like you did in your comment?
dude, this reminds me of my friends Prelude SI. He bought it to find out it was in a front end crash, the pass side pushed 30mm in and the driver side pulled about 12mm to the pass side (tram guage measured) the PO then welded a new frame section, instead of tack welding it like it was from the factory, the core support was fucked beyond belief and the H22 was gone with an Accord motor with a rice cannon in its place.
what a dumbass. they would rather buy spinner hubcaps to add 50hp than to drop their car the right way. i spent like 300 on a belltech drop kit and lowered my truck 4in but they do it the cheap way and end up costing themselves tripple what i spent
REMOVE SPRINGS , CUT AND HEAT AND FLATTEN THE CUT COIL AND LET COOL ON ITS OWN , THEN REFIT , if done right this works on most cars as a ghetto drop,.

MethodRacing 2 months ago
@chris32106 He said the "Upper control arm." He was correct in saying that. It was the upper control arm that was hitting on the underside of the shock tower pocket. A camber kit would be a group of parts that allows for the front spindle to be moved in or out at the top (or bottom depending on the setup) to change the angle of the tire where it would contact the pavement.

thank you for saving a riced car! I am not a fan of preludes, but I do work in automotive repair and it is great to see an abused car get into the hands of someone who will take car of it. Every once in a while we see someone resurrect a once abused vehicle, and it is something that makes my job worth it.

kingofbass63 3 months ago
@kingofbass63 no offense intended but the reason ricer methods are idiotic, in mine and other true car enthusiasts' opinions, is because (if YOU spent the money of course) the money you spent money on these "upgrades" then it's a waste. There's nothing to be proud of, ironically. You could've spent either less, or even a little more, cash and have gotten way more for your money. Hell, consult a professional mechanic if you're unsure what would be good or bad for your car.
xkillacam1993 3 months ago
@xkillacam1993 well if u have had a car as long as i had u break down in the car and all the upgrades and shit tht u put into it makes ur liking for the car even better... so i guess wen i hear the word ricer it pisses me off becuz i put all my time money and work in my car and ppl call it shit sorry for getting all worked up..im in the process of painting my accord now.
kingofbass63 3 months ago
@kingofbass63 nothing wrong with pride, brother.. I've had my 240sx for about 5 or 6 years now and only added a few (good) upgrades to it because that's all I've had the cash for, myself. I still love it nonetheless.. so I understand. Buuut.. as far as "upgrades" are concerned.. I'd stay away from Autozone and places like that for supplies haha.
xkillacam1993 3 months ago
@xkillacam1993 agreed theres no such thing as "upgrades" that can be purchased from autozone. thats where most honda boys get there "performance" parts from...
AwwesomePossumm 3 months ago
@AwwesomePossumm Haha yeah.. I suppose the only "upgrades" that are actually worth it to buy from Autozone are things like silver lug nuts, silver tire stem caps, tools, or maybe even Llumar window tint.

pablo3264 3 months ago
Those are progressive springs - can't cut them. Linear ones you can cut all they long to adjust the ride height, not the best way to go, but sometimes you get a set if springs and expect a 2 inch drop and it does not deliver even after the car settles, well, you put a dremel to it to go lower.

KX125dirtdemon 3 months ago
actually you don't just stiffen your car you also lower it whitch does improve handling but a smart person would make sure if your lowering your car that you do it the right way with good struts and the right springs
aem707 3 months ago
Well I did it the right way and cut one coil loop off all 4 springs. Yeah the car looked a little better...but handled like shit. MORE COILS=MORE SPRING TENSION=BETTER HANDLING YOU RICER DIPSHITS) so If I ever want to go lower i'm keeping my stock springs and maybe a good body kit instead.
kcran5671 3 months ago
@kcran5671 dont EVER cut your springs. buy LOWERING SPRINGS. they counteract the shitty handling and tension with different materials and winding techniques. its a great investment. you'll love the way the car sits and handles. grab new struts too if you get them. just for good measure because unless you JUST got new struts, you never know how bad they are. never do it yourself when it comes to modifying things like springs. there are actual parts for that function available for a reason.
fjddr 3 months ago
@fjddr good advice id put more stress on getting performance struts they work much better together, lower springs tend to abuse oem stuff. its fairly easy to do yourself u just need to rent or buy spring compressors ( a must) just make sure you get your alignment done for camber etc.. i wish i made a video of doing it without compressors lol it was like a rocket and very dangerous haha i was 16 back than in 1996 dont try this at home , only trained idiots haha

conrynsilverleaf65 4 months ago
@conrynsilverleaf65 you have no idea what a ricer is. A ricer does stupid shit ike this. Just because a car is from japan or korea doesn't make it a ricer. should I start calling everyone that drives an amreican car a redneck? It's the same thing your doing
REWej8 3 months ago
cutting em isn't even ricer? i have mine cut for atleast 6 years and i don't have a crappy box bouncing up and down nor have damage anywhere... sooo how about cutting em is cheap way to go?

You guys have a good educational video here. Maybe some of these young ricer wanna-be types will see this before they start work on their car. Better yet, maybe they won't evolve into a ricer driver.
Nels1600 4 months ago
can I ask what would be the purpose of cutting the springs? *serious question :)*
spiro37 4 months ago
@spiro37 if you cut the springs it will make the car sit lower because the spring is shorter. this is a bad Idea though because 1. you will change the spring rate (pretty much the force that the spring can push upwards) and 2. if you lower a car on stock shocks or struts they will fail. then you will pretty much bounce down the road. heting them is better than cutting them but both are horrible Ideas. I personaly like coilovers. They are a rough ride though lol.

@HitMan1263 Cutting your spring will mess with how the wheels are aligned.
Smokie420ish 4 months ago
@Smokie420ish
I am very aware of that, hence why i said "IF ANYTHING" cut them. Meaning, if youre a ricer and you can afford a good suspensions set up then you're better off cutting the spring than heating them.
HitMan1263 4 months ago
@HitMan1263 Alright that's cool some ppl don't know. I do get what you mean though. Heating the springs messes with the integrity of the spring rather than cutting messes with the alignment.
Smokie420ish 4 months ago
@Smokie420ish i say if you must go the cheap way, in which back in the day pre aftermarket for tuners, thats what they had to do, fabricate etc..either way cut or heat can be done right, with toe ,caster/camber corrections. its near impossible to get an even drop on heated springs tho, plus in most cases the car drops way to low.

twobimmers 5 months ago
@twobimmers
why the hell do you think u can safely cut springs?! if u cut em while on the car, ur playing with ur life, cuz the spring wil launch itself into orbit, and u dont wanna cut ur springs normally, cuz then u get the damage you see in the video, never heard of heating the springs, even a more stupid idea of cutting them. but one question, why but such a riced out car?

Don't get me wrong. I'd like to modify a VW Scirocco myself (say maybe a wide-body kit and a discreet WRC style wing), but only after some upgrades to the car itself (say maybe stripping it out, stiffening it, give it a Supercharger and Intercooler, a sports-exhaust manifold and maybe an AWD drive train).
But what I can't stand is the half-arsed jobs out there where people fit poorly made fiber-glass bodykits that look like arse on their VW Polos without any upgrades.

Gauges will probably be from VDO, since they actually also make most of the gauges/readouts in Porsches. I have an 87 S4 5 speed.

diego19917633 6 months ago
@diego19917633 they're calling the previous owner a ricer because he did shit half fast, they're putting megan racing lowering springs on. They have a higher spring rate and happen to lower it at the same time. higher spring rate means they can corner faster and have a stiffer ride
K0RRuPT3DK3V1N 6 months ago
@diego19917633 ricer is someone who will cut corners/ cost etc just to make it look fast etc, I.e. ran into someone that had shoty spot weld rollcage in rx7 with pool noodles for shroud and home depot interior . not saying u have to buy brand name but make it work!!! cool u have a cage but i could fart on it and it would fall apart, looks cool, serves no purpose = rice.

fillyBP 4 months ago
@diego19917633 no. even stated in the video, you don't "lower" a car, you stiffen the suspension so it doesn't smack the ground as it drives from weakened springs done the rice way. Riced vehicles 9 times out of 10 suffer serious damage from the modifications and serve no purpose other than to look different. Stiffened suspension will usually lower the car from the springs being different, but they serve a purpose for sharper turns and better handling. Heated springs = idiot who broke his car
EliteMadHornet 5 months ago
@diego19917633 Your an idiot. there talking about doing it the correct way by using lower profile stiffer springs, cheap ass hole dumb f*cks like to cut and heat springs then drive around like they got some special tuned suspension, the stock springs were designed for the specs of that car when you heat or cut the springs you change how they work drastically, stop being a cheap ass hole and do it correctly or don't do it at all.

diego19917633 4 months ago
@diego19917633 They said nothing that would lead you to believe that they were simply lowering the car. they said "don't slam it, stiffen it" which means use shorter springs that are stiffer so the car can stay the constant ride height and not bottom its self out. and i call jack ass's like you stupid to there face all the time, why don't you go to these guys and tell them that there video is stupid and that they don't make any sense like you did in your comment?
