I'm not gonna get into the whole Datsuk vs Crosby thing even though I prefer Datsyuk, but I will say that when Datsyuk broke his wrist he missed two months and came back on fire. When Crosby got a normal concussion estimated to be injured for a month he was out for 5 months. Datsyuk is a better player than Crosby in defensive zone and neutral zone, in the offensive zone there is a good debate. So if one player is better in 2 out of 3 zones of the ice, and one is debatable, yes Datsyuk is a better all around player, end of story. You get the same argument in football when media hacks were saying Adrian Peterson was the best player, Mr. Fumbleitis, when healthy Troy Polomalu is the best player in football. Troy is wearing down a little because of injury.

The reasons the Red Wings are the greatest: They prove they can win without having the top draft picks, they prove you don't need a goon on the team to fight and protect their stars, they are one of the smartest and most well coached teams in the league, and the stars of the team (Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom) are the most honest and humble players in the league.....making the playoffs 20 years in a row is no fluke.

@juzu4me When has Crosby ever played well in a big pressure game, kid? Like when he faked injury to get off the ice in game 7? Couldn't handle it so scrubby Max Talbot has to save the day? Datsyuk wins the Selke year after year and scores whenever he wants. His role is to be a 2 way forward, which since you don't understand anything about hockey I'll explain. He actually is asked to shut down the other team's top forward lines unlike Crosby. He plays on the PK unlike Crosby.

And maybe you're forgetting the most recent World Juniors where team Russia rallied back from a 3 goal deficit in the 3rd to win gold against the reigning champs, Canada.
Yeah Crosby's good. Really good. But calling Datsyuk a choke artist because he's Russian is ridiculous.

And the world juniors, well they did well there but how many golds do russians have in the olympics when all the best are playing? NONE since Canada has been allowed to use its best. They aren't even the same calibre.

@juzu4me I know I already sent you a response but Datsyuk not playing good in big games? He is best in the playoffs and Crosby is the one that had less than 5 points in the 2008 and 2009 Stanley Cup Finals. So now who is it that can't perform in big games? Certainly not Datsyuk.

@juzu4me No I actually hear Datsyuk is a great player while watching him dangle around an entire team then easily scoring on a helpless goalie. It's a fact that Datsyuk is a great player. If you don't agree you aren't a true fan of hockey. I know Crosby is great even though I hate him. The reason people talk about Crosby and Ovechkin more is because they are the poster boys of the NHL. Crosby is pure offense and doesn't play defense. Datsyuk sacrifices scoring points for playing defense.

And Datsyuk may have skated though a team once and scored but big deal, perhaps he was being a puck hog that time. He isn't worth what Crosby is, no matter how hard you wish this wasn't true.
