I am an Ovation fan, and it's pretty fun to watch this! This is really juicy, John ... is that TAPE on the guitar? Please explain, and thank you for posting this.
Another great performance John. Just downloaded a copy of the Urban Troubadour, Absolutely brilliant. I hope you don't mind me saying that you have a very similar sound to James Taylor. See you in O'neills.
Simon and Garfunkel did a cover of Davey Graham's original piece. Paul and his brother did a nice duet which can be seen on YouTube, but they are not the original artists/writers, as often thought. They just happened to be more popular, so are often credited with it.
Sure....Angie/Anji is from S&G. They both performed this classical guitar arrangement on the album "Sound of Silence" and they used parts of it as the intro in the song "Somewhere They Can't Find Me" on the same album.
this is the best cover of this classic song on the whole of youtube, i dont know why but most other people have either got it far to fast missed out vital bits or all together ruied it i take my hat off to you sir this is one amazing bit of talent and i believe sir you are a legend amoung men =)
I love this song and you are obviously a very talented musician! My goal is to play guitar as well as you someday, but I'm sure I will need to practice for many more years!
well played john how about posting some live footage from friday night at o neils gigs liverpool the paddy casey saints and sinners in particular a real crowd pleaser
Hi again Johnny. Just a quick Hi to say that we are coming to see you at the Manchester gig in September. We came to the Phil to see Bish and were amazed at your talent. Loving your music and just wish I had bought more than 1 of your C.D.'S at Liverpool. Hopefully you will be bringing some along on your tour with Bish! One question - why are you not including Liverpool on your tour? I would have thought that the tour either kicked off or ended there? Looking forward to seeing u. Paul and co.
Hi Johnny- we are fans of Stephen Bishop coming to the concert at the Liverpool Philharmonic. Generally, we would not be too interested in the support act, but after hearing your material on both Youtube and your own website, we are so impressed that we are looking forward to seeing you as much as the Bish himself!! We hope the night goes well for you - look for us at the front in Row E. We are the group from a small village called Ramsbottom - high 6!! Paul, Chris and the inbreds!
thankyou so mutch for that, you must come to the after party to say hello, ive been a bishop fan since 1978, so its a bit of a dream come true, look forward to meeting you, johnny

The low E is being palm muted, with a thumb picks it give a real driving thump, thump. Perfect for this song.
